For my first Deep Dive, I'm going to write about what I know best, and that will be Muon himself, his first year in the SMJHL, and how his performance fits in relative to the Anchorage Armada's season as a whole. As of writing this, Anchorage has 29 wins, 20 losses, and 1 OT loss, good enough for 59 points, which puts us 7th in league standings, but only 6th in the Pacific, as 7 of the top 8 teams in the league all come from the Pacific, as only Detroit has a winning record in the Atlantic conference. Amazing! The Pacific is mostly bunched up, as Colorado, the second team in the Pacific, has only 2 more wins than Anchorage does and is only 10 points away. Even the last place Kraken have more points than Vancouver, the second place team in the Atlantic. Rough for them, or whoever ends up taking the 7th spot in the very competitive conference. Anchorage has also seemingly left some points on the table this season, as their +47 goal differential would seem to indicate that you'd expect them to be higher up in the standings, and part of that discrepancy may be due to their losses (and wins, honestly) typically coming in the form of big goal explosions by the other team, not allowing the Armada to pick up those all important overtime loss points.
As far as how Muon is doing so far this season, I have to say I'm very pleased with how his first season in the SMJHL has gone. In a vacuum, he's scored 10 goals, and racked up 17 assists, which I am very pleased with considering his somewhat limited time on the ice. His goal differential was a little hairy to start the season, but has climbed out of the negative and is now a very respectable +15. He's taken 99 shots, so he's got a pretty miserable 10.1 shot percentage, but that isn't really meant to be Muon's strength and I'm okay with that number. Ultimately my only real goals for him were to help his team win, and rack up the assists if possible while he does so, so I'd say job well done on both ends so far. He's even managed to score himself a singular game winning goal. Muon's playing time is low, he is averaging the lowest on the team outside of the Bot line, at 13:01 average time on Ice, but his line is playing well, with Bongo, Ubba, and Muon combining to be a total of +49. While 17 assists is certainly not going to catch the league on fire, ranking only 12th on the team, I think it's a good amount for a wing in his first season playing on the third line, so I'm happy for that. We've been able to contribute in a variety of ways too, besides the 12th on the team assists Muon is also 11th on the team in goals and 9th on the team in points, not bad for the last guy off the bench! Hopefully, especially into next season, Muon is able to continue to improve and earn the trust of his coaches and teammates and get more time on the ice in the upcoming seasons, so that he can continue to contribute and rack up even more assists to help his boat brothers send the puck into the net Code: 570 words
Well, I will not be blackmailed by some ineffectual, privileged, effete, soft-penised, debutante. You want to start a street fight with me bring it on but you're gonna be surprised by how ugly it gets, you don't even know my real name-
