Episode 6: Let the games begins
Spaceman takes the cup raising it above his head as balloons falls from the sky. He screams happily “Yeah! We did it and I am the man!” Pyro whistles “Hey MVP get over here and make your speech!” Spaceman gets to the stand “Yes I know it was my shot and busting my ass for us to get to this point! I want to thank everyone for your help and support! Thank you for helping pick me a rookie MVP of S77!” He grins raising the cup as the girls scream his name from the crowd. “Spaceman! Spaceman! Spaceman!” His teammates stare at him with awe. Easton hold his chest “I wish I can be like Soaceman!” Hockey plays with her hair “He is so hot!” Demir pats his back “Honestly I think it should be you that becomes our next captain.” Spaceman beams “Thank you… thank you…” Then he hears “Wake up the volume… wake up the volume..” Spaceman spins around as everything around him moves like a roller coaster until he finds himself falling. Then Spaceman falls to the ground as his alarm rings. The clock hits his head. “Ouch! Aww man, that was a radical dream!” He gets up to check his calendar and grins “Yes, today is my first game!” He gets up to get dressed and packs up his hockey gear “Okay today is the day! I am ready to become a star!” He looks at a picture of his dad and does a thumbs up “Watch me reach the stars pops!” He leaves his flat and heads to the stadium. _________ Spaceman arrives at the stadium snapping his fingers while listening to music. He finds his team are in the meeting room gathering themselves and having snacks. Marshall is very nervous as he breathes in and out. Easton sits by him smiling, “Hey Marshall are you okay?” “I don't know Easton. Tonight is my first game and I am a nervous wreck!” Easton smiles “Hey don’t worry, I was nervous in my first game but now I am fine. You will do great tonight!” Spaceman approaches the two rookies “Yeah you will do great Marshall. Just keep your head up high and stare at fear and your opponent straight down. You say ‘I shall dominate you moron’!” Marshall breathes and walks off “I need some water..” Easton frowns “I hope he will be okay.” Spaceman nods “He will just need to get used to things.” Easton nods “What about you?” Spaceman jumps up and down “I am fire up Easton and cannot wait to get out there. Heck, I even had dreams about it too.” Easton laughs at Spaceman, happy to see that he is excited and hopes all will go well for him. Eventually Frenchie arrives in the room and stands before everyone. “Now before we go out there I have an announcement! The votes are in so here is our captain for S77 which is still Demir. Our assistant captains are Hockey and Jacob!” The team cheers for the trio! Frenchie nods “Alright guys tonight is our first game. This is our pre-season play so we will test our chemistry, might, and everything else! Now for my rookies this is your debut so no harm or foul just get out there and have fun!” Benji drums on the table as the others start to follow suit “Let’s go Highlanders!” ______ The Highlanders head out to the ice followed by Raptors. Marshall looks around and sees a big crowd of people. Then the skylights and camera gazed at him, blinding his eyes. He breathes in and out as he can feel the roar of the crowd getting louder. He begins to sweat as he can feel his pressure increase. Marshall breathes harder but the fact that so many people are watching him. Before anyone realized it Marshall passed out on the ground. Pyro looks at Marshall “What happened to him?” Pres frowns “Yeah because we are about to have HQ speak. Not a good time to take a nap.” Easton observes his teammate “He is not taking a nap, Pres just fainted.” Pres blinks “Fainted?!” Pyro sighs “Well make sure he is up by 2nd period Easton because he is up to play then.” Jester gets on the stand to deliver a speech. “Welcome all to our 77th season of Simulation Major Junior Hockey League. It’s our developing league to prepare today’s players to become future legends when they move onto SHL. Our juniors have existed since we started the league. At the time it was known as The North West Junior Hockey League )NWJHL). It consists of Vancouver Whaler, Kelowna Knights, Prince George Firebird, and the Leftbridge Lions. The very first SMJHL Champions was the Prince George Firebirds. Today we have expanded to 16 teams both in Canada and the United States. Ottawa Highlanders and San Diego Tidals are part of our newest additions. Now I, Jester, Head office of SMJML, am proud to open the 77th season! May the games begin!” The crowd goes wild after he finishes his speech. ________ The bell rings as the punk falls to the ground. Raptors take the puck as the game begins. They make an attempt to try to hit the net but Jacob blocks them “Foutez le camp d'ici!” He ding by the referee for language. Demir grins “Better stop sweating in French Jake!” Then a few minutes later Demir skates to get in front of the forward only to be ding for interference. He grabbed his stick speak in Italian, “Che cazzo? Come può essere un fallo?!l” Raw Cheese from Raptors grins “Read the rule book sometime Bellona!” “Not today Pickle!” Then the Raptors started to get penalties as well. Demir having enough of the nonsense! He steal the puck and races across the ring to score. Raw Cheese grit his teeth and yell at his teammates. As they become aggressive on the ice. However each time they make a score Bishop blocks their every move. “Is that all you got! You won’t break me!” He laughs like a madman blocking the Raptors. Meanwhile on the benches, the team watches Bishop's performance. Pique crossed his arms “He is doing very well. Are you sure that Bishop is not high?” Cycro smirks “I threaten him that he will lose pay. Turns out it works!” Spaceman blinks “Weed isn’t that bad..” Marshall wakes up “What happened?” Cycro sighs “You fainted… are you okay Marshall?” The rookie nods, rubbing his head. Then the 3rd period happens as the Raptors seek a way to break Demir and Jacob’s defense while finding holes to Bishop’s wall. Raptors GMs huddle the team together with their plan and they follow through with it. By confusing the forwards with their passing ordeal. Then they increased their speed to evade the defenders while Bishop kept his eyes on one player the puck was passed and before he could do anything Raptors score! This overtime was called! Raw Cheese did the L sign at Demir. Hockey holds Demir back “He is not worth it Demir..” Spaceman approaches Pryo “Let me in there! I can do this!” The co-GM looks at him “Are you sure kid?” He nods so Pyro let’s Spaceman enter OT with Benji and Pique as forwards. As much as the Highlanders tried, Raw Cheese wasn’t haven’t it and stole the puck from them. Playing a great playmaker setting his team well to score again. Raptors wins 2-1 as the Highlanders head to the locker room upset. _____ Frenchie looks at his players “We did well for a first game team. I am proud of you. Yes we lost but we went to overtime. Bishop, excellent debut as our main goalie! Demir, you have done well leading us as well! Just remember this is the beginning!” Pyro nods “He is right and I think we are in for a lot of surprises this season!” _______ Preview Spaceman: Alright now here is my chance to show off what I am made of. Hockey: Wait a minute, has anyone seen Peyton? Pres: Haven’t you heard he’s an actor and working on a film? Hockey: What? Is Peyton a movie star? Spaceman: Well if he is going to be absent I will pick up the slack!
