S77 IIHF Medal Games Recap + AWARDS
#1

Welcome back one more time to St. Petersburg as we are here after an exciting finish to the S77 IIHF Tournament. Let us get into the recap!

Finland Finland 4 - France France 3 OT
Finland got in front fast thanks to goals from Manty, Junior II and Patey V2, leaving the French in need to chase. Luca Pane tallied two and young Xavier Beausoliel tied up the game early in the third. But it would be more early goals in overtime that sealed the win for the Finnish with Jaromir Jagrbomb scoring the game winner. Such heroics made him the player of the game while Eduoard Lavoie was the player of the game for the French.

Ireland Ireland 4 - Japan Japan 2
The Irish got out ahead in the first period with a goal from O’Slapahan and Peter Tingle made it 2-0 in the second before Japan responded twice via Hirano and Iskrandov. The tried and true trio of Hargreeves, Martin and Bergmark connected twice in the third period to score the last goals and give Ireland the gold at the end of the rainbow. Player of the game was Hargreeves, while Bergmark had 3 assists.

With the medals awarded, let us get to some other awards. As a reminder, these are from using stats from the group stage/round robin only.
