So, this announcement is a some time coming one. If you currently look onto the SHL’s Redbubble store, there is merchandise offered by the SHL using the brandings of the SHL and SMJHL teams aswell as the league’s own branding. There was always one issue with that – Manhattan was only represented by our secondary logo, as we never fully owned the rights to the current main logo of the Rage. With that, the solution was simple, yet fairly painful. Change the logo to one that we would fully own, getting rid of the copyrighted one in the process, which however had the downside of getting rid of one of the longer standing logos SHL has had. Personally, I felt that it’s extremely hard to beat the current logo, or to match it in quality, yet I felt that changing the team’s branding significantly wasn’t something I was interested in either. So, the process on the new replacement logo festered in the background, waiting for Canadice to finally get annoyed at me enough to the point where he just went and did most of the work himself :D

With that though, I am happy to announce that the Manhattan Rage’s new logo from S79 onwards will be:

Alongside the main logo, the team will employ a new secondary logo aswell:

And, alongside the change of logo on the front of the jersey, the refresh of the jersey’s themselves felt appropriate.

With this rebrand, we tried to not muddy up the waters too much, yet attempt to update and refresh the logo enough that it felt like a separate thing from the previous one. Hopefully our attempt at doing this does the brand justice and we hope that the new logo will see Manhattan successful sooner rather than later.
