The final week for the Whalers

This year for the Vancouver Whalers has been well... not the greatest. We began the season losing, and we'll end the season losing, with a few wins in between. Nothing was working for the Whalers this year, mainly on the defensive side. Not to say the defensemen were just bad, but there are many very offensive forwards with not a lot of defense, and so we are lacking in that category. Trent Mackenzie, our rookie starter, was quite insane this year. Trent had a ton of saves this year which is usual for the goalie on the worst team as they have the most shots against. Our goaltending is fine, offense is fine, but it just didn't work out. Hopefully we can get some good rookies coming into the next season that will help the team on offense and defense, and maybe another goalie to complement Trent in net and to take some of the load. Team spirit is still fiery and hopefully we can make a comeback in the next one, or at least make it up for this disappointing one. It all comes down to our rookies coming in. That's how teams thrive, with new blood.
