S80 PT #4: Last Action Hero Due: Sunday, January 12th @ 11:59 PM PST

What a treat, Tibuk Soonika has been invited to take part in the spin off of Space Jam called Space Shot. The script is a bit hokey (although still better than Space Jam 2) and the actors that have signed on are B tier, but there is passion for the project and that sometimes makes the best movies. Tibuk has been hired on to consult but also serve as goalie for the Earth team and also do a number of motion capture for various characters! It doesn't pay great but it's nice to get a half dozen movie credits with one project. Tibuk's agent has recommended (several times now) that taking on the extra work for almost no pay makes sense. But if there is a possibility of being in the same echelon if classic hockey movies like The Mighty Ducks or Slapshot then really you have to take that gamble.

Aleksandr Aleksandrov is the General Manager of the Vancouver Whalers, of the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League. The day? Draft day. The fans are itching for success, and it puts a great deal of pressure and scrutiny on General Manager Aleksandr Aleksandrov. General Manager Aleksandr Aleksandrov needs to have a draft of HISTORIC importance in order to set the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League franchise, the Vancouver Whalers, up for success to win the leagues trophy, the Four Star Cup. General Manager Aleksandr Aleksandrov is left with a crucial decision to make, does he take the superstar first overall in a safe, uninspiring move, or does he, through a flurry of masterful trades, resource management, player signings, and general gusto, to win the hearts of fans and women alike across the globe to truly display his talents, turn 1 pick into 10? Moves will be made, and not just on the draft board. My player plays the love interest of General Manager Aleksandr Aleksandrov!

Option 2:

In the last game of the season Matiss was going for a goal to set his single season goal record. There was a face off in the first period down in the offensive zone to the left of the goalie. Matiss was lined up on the wall ready for the face off. The puck gets dropped and the center wins the puck towards the boards to Matiss. Matiss sees a defender coming toward him and does a fake pass out to his defenseman, which gets the defender to bite toward the defenseman. While he fakes the past 2 defenders his center cuts toward the boards where he was at and starts to skate toward the corner once a center goes low Matiss starts to skate towards the net where he is met by the defender that was down low on the face off. As the defender commits to Matiss he passes the puck down to his center who is now in the corner. His center starts to skate behind the net as he skates behind the net. He drops the puck toward the near post where Matiss is crashing the net. As he crashes the net, the puck finds its way between the low defender and the defender covering the nets right to Matiss’ stick where he takes a quick one time snapshot beating the goalie on the far side past the blocker and scoring his single season record-breaking goal.

The movie will be like an SHL story where some fans from the league creates a team for their kids but there’s an issue: they can’t really compete with the other leagues because they don’t know how to manage. Most of the movie we will learn about how the city helps them and at one point, Volta will comes in to help coaching the kids to played well enough the hockey to make them better and good to compete. It will be based of the 1st movie of The Boys, but with the twist of what I just wrote. Such a classic hockey movie for everyone, every age and for those who understand or doesn’t understand hockey. Volta will absolutely love this job opportunity because it helps people who doesn’t understand hockey to learn how it works and, since he already knows a lot of this sport, it’s easier to cameo it. For the Cameo, Volta will be like the new drafted player coming at the end of the movie. He will be the best leader that the team has ever had!

Rasmus pulled something off in a game that will never be forgotten by those who follow the SHL. With time on the clock expiring, he got down on the ice and blocked a shot off the top of his helmet, except instead of ricocheting away the puck embedded in his helmet. Unshaken, he got up and realized what had happened. Recognizing that this was an incredibly hard puck to dispossess him of, he busted ass down the ice and before he knew it he was in alone - with the only issue being that he had to get the puck out of his helmet and into the net without directing the puck into the net ala Andrew Shaw. Luckily, his teammate came up behind him and understood the assignment - punching him in the back of the head so the puck popped loose onto Rasmus' stick where he was ready to bury it into the empty net and seal the win that clinched LA their playoff spot and yet another run at the cup.

The movie is more like a mini-series then a standalone movie. This specific one is about a different hockey called the NHL, and for this movie it's about the mid 90's to early 2000s Detroit Red Wings. I will mostly be used as a skater under someone else's name. I do get a couple of small speaking parts when the player I'm representing had an interview or something off the ice. The play I'm lucky enough to represent is Vladimir "The Impaler" Konstantinov, it is a true honor to get to represent him and his short but great career. Before the movie I got to meet him and his daughter on a few different occasions and they are great people and Vlad even thought me some tricks from back in his day. I get to show his escape from Russia, to his earning his nickname, to his triumph of winning the Stanley Cup to being permanently paralyzed the day. I strongly recommend every hockey fan to see this movie and the others about the best stories of the entire history of the NHL.

Option 2

This season I am tied for most short handed goals in the league. One of them was a highlight reel that will be shown for years to come.

We were under huge amounts of pressure from the opposing team on the penalty kill and they already took a few shots, but our goalie stood on his head save after save. After a while there was a huge board battle going and John Brown was able to strip them of the puck and passed it to me waiting just before the blue line. When I got the puck I still had to beat two defenders. First one was dealt with with a nice fake pass which almost broke his ankles. As I went on towards the goal I went beteen the legs with the second defender and I was alone on the goalie and deked around him to score the game winning goal short handed.

Written Option 1:

Twinkle Toes would only be considered as a hockey advisor to one type of movie, a ballet and hockey crossover! Project name Backey! So the project name is pretty rough but the company assured Twinkle that it was only a temporary name and they were already in the process of picking a new one. This new comedy was inspired by the great film BASEketball. Twinkle doesn't mind the new gig, sitting around, telling them a thing or two, getting ignored because it's too realistic, and then back to relaxing. The best part though was actually being in the shot for the cameo. Twinkle got to do Pliés, Pirouettes, and Grande Jeté all over the ice while holding a hockey stick which made the scene that much more fantastical. They got so lost in this the director and half the crew were screaming CUT before twinkle heard them. Twinkle was quite embarrassed but the director reassured them that they did a great job. They're looking forward to this movie's release next summer.

Written option 1:

Niclas Sundqvist finds the entire situation quite amusing. He knows he is no actor talent but he finds that he can probably lead the movie into a more realistic hockey movie. As it turns out, the movie turns into an action movie with slapstick humor. This is due to the director believing that slapstick is a term in hockey, mistaking slapshot for something else entirely. No matter how much Sundqvist tried to argue against it he would not listen! The decision in itself is not that bad though. While most characters in the movie are almost satirical displays of hockey players (dumb, lacking front teeth, etc.) the overall movie is at least somewhat enjoyable. It turns into a classic joke among hockey interested individuals with many repeatable lines and characters to mimic. And who could ever forget the magnificent display that Niclas Sundqvist did in hos cameo with the unforgettable words: ”Let’s do that hockey”.

Option 1: I’d imagine it’s a rather silly movie that focuses on a team of misfits attempting to win a hockey tournament to save their rec center. The problem is most of them barely know how to skate, let alone actually play hockey. To that end, they bring in the main character of the movie who is retired forward for the Atlanta Inferno. The tone would be comedic, with the occasional moments of drama. Roisin herself would spend most of her time getting the actors’ skating right and make sure they know to play defense. She would be amused by it and would probably get along rather well with most of the cast and crew. As for the cameo, I can imagine she probably goes with something along the lines of being a retired pro coming to deliver an inspirational speech to the team or as an commentator for the hockey games going on in the film.
