C-Brady Hoperle The Young Alberta Phenom
#1

Here's a sampling of what this kid is made of....

Brady Hoperle played most of his minor hockey for the Lacombe Club in his hometown, while attending Alix North Secondary. In 2008, he led his team to a quarter-final berth in the annual Alberta Pee-Wee Tournament, and later in the season captured a provincial championship. During the 2008 AAA midget hockey tournament, Hoperle was named the Tournament MVP and earned a spot on the All-Star Team. Hoperle was named the 2008 Alberta Minor Hockey Player of the Year, in recognition of his sportsmanship, leadership and hockey skill. He was the captain of the Lacombe Bruins when he was drafted first overall in the 2009 Alberta Hockey League (AHL) Bantam Draft by the Ottawa Bombers. In 2009 and 2010, he played in the Canada Bantam Championships. Hoperle's club captured the gold medal in 2010 and the silver medal in 2009. Brady was named the tournament MVP in 2010. After being drafted, Hoperle played midget hockey for the Vancouver Spitfire during the 2010–11 season. In 2011-2012 He scored 45 goals and added 39 assists for 84 points, and was named AHL and CHL player of the Year .The director of the Western Central Scouting Bureau said of Hoperle: "He's got great skill and a knack for offense," while George Walker, the teams play-by-play announcer called him the best player the team had ever seen.

Hoperle will be a player that not many have heard of going into the draft ,but by the end of his first season. He has what it takes to become a household name. This kid has the makings of a superstar. When Hoperle steps onto the ice everyone notices... In a recent article published by the Alberta Hockey News.Several GM'S were asked about the young Albertan. They were asked what they thought about Hoperle and his chances at the draft. Wes Sattelite of the Bentley Bushwackers replied "with the skill and hockey sense that he possess. I expect he goes in the first round and very well could be the first overall pick". When Brady was told what the GM had said. Brady replied I appreciate the sentiment. Wes is correct i play this game to win.Second place is not an option for me or my team mates. "I want to be first, but I can't say anything for now," Hoperle said when asked about the possibility of being drafted by an SHL team. "I don't know who is going to be first in the draft, so we'll see what happens."I think every team in the SHL is great. For me, I want to play in the SHL. It doesn't matter what team it's going to be. I want to be first, so we'll see what happens."We'll see what happens," he said. "Whoever drafts me, I'll be excited to put there jersey on. I want to work hard for my team and give everything. It's the SHL."

"You've got to smile every day because in life you just live once," said Hoperle. "You've got to push everything you can every day and be nice with the people and keep your family in your heart.

"If you can play hockey, just play hockey and do your thing."

"I can be a goalie, too," Hoperle quipped. "I think I could be left and centre and defence."

"Immediately after the interview Brady went back into the weight room and continued on with his preperations for the 2012 Entry draft.

We know Brady is a dynamic and dangerous offensive force. What is he like off the ice in terms of preparation, work ethic and his relationships with coaches and teammates?

Tom Maddux:

“He is constantly working on his game be it on the ice or in the gym constantly wanting to get better. In the dressing room he is a true character. Easily one of the more popular players among his teammates. He has two distinct sides to him. When it comes to hockey he is all business but outside of the game he is one of the more engaging personalities I have come across in my time in junior hockey.”

Wayne Laraque (of The Hockey blog and The Hockey Guru's) sums up Brady’s undeniable and enthusiastic passion for the game:

“The passion and drive that Hoperle displays on a nightly basis is his most admirable quality. On nights where Hoperle has to earn every point and play through frustration he still competes with every inch he has. When Hoperle’s teammates score, he celebrates like he did the scoring. When Hoperle earns an assist, he celebrates like it was his first ever assist. And, when Hoperle does the scoring, he celebrates like he will never score again.”

Keep up the hard work. Remember, the more active you are, the more likely the Scouts see you as a player that's going to be around and training each week. That means that you'll likely be a better player by the end of the season making you more valuable.

So keep it up. Ilike
