GAME 8
vs Kelowna Knights players celebrating together after the game Everyone expects a big game when it's Kelowna vs Vancouver. The fans got just that. Well a high scoring game that is. It took only less than two minutes for the opening goal. Pierre-Luc Laflamme scores his first with the help of Shinji Kudryashov, Mike Hawk. The 3 year veteran Merit Csonka tied the game up at one before the first period ended. Csonka got his second of the season in the second period but the Whalers answered back scoring 2 straight goals in the second period. Score was 3-2 Vancouver going into the third period. The head coach of the Knights must have pumped his team because they came out shooting. Four unanswered goals by the Knights put the game to bed. Two of which came of the power play. Result: -6 -3 3 Stars: 1 - Merit Csonka (KEL) 2 - Dolph Ziggler (KEL) 3 - Keith Trubachev (KEL) GAME 9 vs :impact: Unlike game 9 where we saw a shit ton of goals this game didn't see much. The opening period showed the Scarecrows outshout the Impact 13 to 4. None of those shots turn out to be a goal and the first period ended 0-0. Second period provided us with at least one goal. Chris Fekete does some magic as he bust past several crow players from his end to end to send a beautiful pass off to Henrik Englund who finished it. Believe it or not the Impact only managed 2 shots on target that period. Third period commenced and again the game started slow. Chernika Banananov scored his first goal of the season to tie the game 9 minutes in. The Scarecrows didn't take long to score again as Niklas Svensson takes a shot off a bouncing puck that was deflected off Jack the robot. Shots for the period are 12 for St. Louis Scarecrows vs 6 for Montreal Impact. What we learned here? You can't score and if you don't shoot. Result: -2 :impact: -1 3 Stars: 1 - Chernika Banananov (STL) 2 - Valdemorts Karlensons (MTL) 3 - Seth Ryder (STL) GAME 10 :force: vs This game proved to be a battle between goalies. Anton Riga vs Rob Pressen as they made several spectacular saves. Sadly in this game there always has to be a loser. Riga held his own until the third period. Thomas Anderson made the score 3-1 Falcons with his first goal of the season. Followed by Chico Four-Bryde on the power play. The Falcons were called for a penalty late in the third and Regina capitalized. Rookie Brandon Pomery who's having an amazing start t his SMJHL season scores his 3 goal of the season. Too little too late for a comeback as Detroit take the W. Result: :force: -2 -4 3 Stars: 1 - Clay Parker (DET) 2 - Michael J Caboose (DET) 3 - Andre Martushev (DET)
