Smirnovs Tunnel + 10th Season Presser
</div>
Everyone always says there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but if you can’t make it to the end of tunnel? Smirnov who has now played in 10 seasons, which equates to 504 Regular season games. In this time frame Smirnov has tallied 312 points. As for the post season Smirnov has appeared in 77 games, and registered 52 points.
Smirnov thought he saw that light at the end of the tunnel twice, ultimately he fell short of making his way to the light. Entering season 33, Smirnov is not sure how many seasons he has left in the tank. When asked about his career up to this date, this is what he had to say.
“Would I call my career success? Yes, and no. Ive played 10 seasons in the league, ive won 2 junior cups, and numerous junior awards. Ive got to play in the challenge cup finals twice, but as everyone knows, I haven’t gotten to hoist that cup yet. You know, I have maybe around 5-7 seasons left in the league, and that’s the one thing I want to check off before I leave the game. But with each passing season, the goal seems harder to attain. Its difficult.

Do you believe that the position lock rule will be good, or nah?

Its hard to say. I played my first 2 seasons in the SHL as a RW, then played D for the next 6, and recently swapped back to RW for the last 2 seasons. I think it'll force more roster turnover, as teams wont be able to hold onto their players as easily. Its tough, to some aspects I like it, but in others I dont.
What do you feel you need to improve in order to be a better player next season?

Well hard to improve, heading into my second regression. I did see a decrease in points this season, but so did everyone in WKP. We had a shaky start to the season that set everyone back. We just need to start strong.
What was your favourite moment as a Kelowna Knight?

Winning the back to back cups. We had such a tight roster back then, from new players, to recreates. I met people on that team that I can say Ill probably still occasionally talk to them after the SHL.

Extremely, I remember we talked about it, then you went inactive. Then you came back and signed in seattle. Smirnov and Benson has some solid chemistry back in the junior days, one would think its still there!
When are you retiring so I can retire?

Realistically when I hit around 1000 tpe, so probably 3-5 seasons, depends if I start doing PTs again or not.
What's good in the hood?

Well im currently hung over, feeling like shit. But other then that, just in the daily work grind until september when I go back to school to finish my degree.

Hard to say, the sim is a fickle bitch, and does what it wants.
Thoughts on our most important need in the draft this season?
Center for sure. Our top line center is regressing, and we have no prospects in the pipeline to replace him. After that we will need defence to replace bojo eventually.
What do you think about the recent trade?
I mean, when a person asks out, you try your best to accomplish that for them. We got back a first which will be a huge help. Although LB sniper is exactly what we need for the sim

- West Kendall has had a recurring problem in getting past the first round of the playoffs, what does the Platoon have to do to get past that hump in your opinion?
If I had an answer to that question, wed make it past the first round. Most of the time were losing in 7 games a swell, which is the annoying thing.
- If you could bring any player from past Platoon rosters during your time there, who would you bring back and why?
Well oddly enough, from the time I got drafted here there hasn't been much roster turnover, other then 1 season players. I guess <a href='index.php?showuser=1117' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>AlwaysGettingHaxed</a> . Big Z is a wkp legend, and on the verge of breaking many of the franchise stats. Although, since he is gone ill be able gain some ground on his numbers, and hopefully pass him.
