<div align="center">Review at the Detroit Falcons draftee last season </div>

It was a crazy season for the Falcons in the S32. The team which was led by sophomores such as Terrence Nova, Matthew Rossi and Luke Atmey went to the Finals after beating the Militias and Laurier Trophy winner, the Halifax Raiders. Unfortunately their Cinderella run ended up with a 4-0 loss series against the Kelowna Knights. The fans were hoping that Detroit would get the chance to win the cup next season with Patrick Diehl potentially be a starter goalie. But things got worse for Detroit as Terrence Nova, Luke Atmey, Joey Ryan and Jari Sinikka would ended up leaving the junior for their SHL teams during the offseason.

Thus, Detroit had to rebuild the team with their draft pick in the S33 SMJHL Draft. With the Kyle Kylrad trade, the Falcons got 5th overall pick and also had their own first which was a 7th overall pick. With four picks in the draft, they were hoping that they would be able to replace the four players who left in the offseason.

D – Jakub Trocheck

S33 SHL Draft: 1st

SMJHL S33 Playoffs Stats:
G:1 | A:2 | P: 3 | -4 | HIT:3 | SHT:8 | SB:4 | AMG:20.21

Jakub Trocheck is the undisputed top defenceman and one the best player in his draft. He’s more focused on his offensive game by far than his defensive game. Jakub is one of the best skater in the league, both in terms of speed and agility. With those skills, he can be in both side of the side without trouble with the puck thus making him very effective in the powerplay. He is seen as both a puck mover and an offensive point producer. Some scouts say he has the potential to be projected as #1 defensemen and become one of the best player in the league in years to come.

Last season, many analyst projected him as the #1 prospect in the draft. However, he felled off in the draft at the fifth overall pick. This might put him a lot of pressure in that season because he didn’t a good year. With the loss of Terrence Nova, the Falcons were to have Jakub Trocheck at fifth overall. The fans might expected him to replace Nova last season but he wasn’t as good as they thought he would be. Even if his stats doesn’t compare to Terrence Nova, he had an impressive in the second half of the season. If he didn’t struggle at the beginning of the year, his production would be way higher. The reason why he was drafted first overall in the SHL draft is because he has the most potential in his generation. This season will be the real challenge for him as he needs to show us why he is the best in his level. He will much better when he will play with Hamilton defense and the #1 goalie Ben Waters (<a href='index.php?showuser=2267' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-52'>Waters</a>).

W – Noro Wozy
Bank: $3,200,000
S32 SMJHL Draft: 20th
S33 SHL Draft: 3rd
TPE ATM: 330
SHL Draft TPE: 268
SMJHL Draft TPE: 163
Birthplace: General Area of Sweden
Player Type: Offensive Forward
Strengths: Scoring, Puck Handling, Endurance
Weakness: Checking
SMJHL S33 Regular Season Stats:
G:10 | A:18 | P:28 | -1 | HIT:57 | SHT:85 | SB:1 | AMG:18.59
SMJHL S33 Playoffs Stats:
G:4 | A:3 | P: 7 | -1 | HIT:4 | SHT:24 | SB:4 | AMG:17.85

Noro Wozy is a highly skilled offensive player. Wozy has all the tools to be the best offensive player in the league. He skates very well, and control the puck at very high speeds. He’s a gifted player as he can shoot the puck a lot in the net, but also he is capable of delivering superb passes. With his agility and his speed, he can protect the puck very well and he can beat out the defender easily in the offensive zone. Being the best in the offense is great but he needs to improve his defensive game if he wants to be considered as the best player. Noro Wozy has the complete package to lead his team in all offensive aspects.

Because he was an unknown player, Noro Wozy was drafted in the third round of the SMJHL draft. However he proved every GM’s that they were wrong on passing him. Indeed, he finished second in scoring among the rookies. However, he was in another level during the playoffs. Although they lost in the first round, Noro Wozy helped the Falcons to bring the series to game 7 against the champions. He led the team with 7 points in the series. He was the best player in the offense but he could have done more for his team. He had a negative rating in the regular season and in the playoff. Thus, there’s still a lot of time to develop his defensive game and the Hamilton Steelhawks believes Noro Wozy can be a superstar. They drafted him with the third overall pick and he wasn’t a top 5 in his draft class. Now that he was drafted as the first forward, he needs to prove this season he’s the best forward in the league.

D – Roddy Hawkins
Bank: $32,087,504
S32 SMJHL Draft: 7th
S33 SHL Draft: 9th
TPE ATM: 268
SHL Draft TPE: 247
SMJHL Draft TPE: 185
Birthplace: Ottawa, Ontario
Player Type: Two-Way Defensemen
Strengths: Passing, Defense, Checking
Weakness: Strength
SMJHL S33 Regular Season Stats:
G:9 | A:14 | P:23 | +5 | HIT:113 | SHT:38 | SB:70 | AMG:22.88
SMJHL S33 Playoffs Stats:
G:1 | A:1 | P: 2 | -1 | HIT:13 | SHT:7 | SB:14 | AMG:22.90

Roddy Hawkins is a dynamic two-way defenseman who doesn’t have a weakness in his game. He is a very aggressive defender, constantly going after the player and crash on them. He also help the goalie a lot by blocking many shots and putting the puck out of the defensive zone. He still need to develop his puck handling but he has a great vision and he can make great passes and can find open players. He’s a good skater and he’s very good at doing a quick transition to offense and to the defense. He is not shy as he can drop his gloves if anyone make his irritated. In summary, Roddy Hawkins is a talented all-around defenseman who has the skill set to be a top defenseman in the SHL.

Roddy Hawkins was the second defenseman drafted by the Falcons in the S33 SMJHL draft. The rookie defensemen was one of the most effective player in the S33 season. Indeed, he finished third in shots blocked and finished fifth with the most hits among defensemen while being +5. He was nominated for the Quilha Agante Trophy which is awarded to the top defenseman of the season. This offseason, he was drafted to the Seattle Riot but then he was traded to the team who really want to play in the SHL, Edmonton Blizzard. After a great rookie season for Ryan Vas, the blizzards hope that Roddy Hawkins can be as good as Ryan Vas. There’s no doubt Roddy Hawkins will be a star for Edmonton as he is a big passion for the game and he puts a lot of effort in his game and for the team. He was the best defensemen in Detroit last season and hope he can still dominate the blue lines again this season and after with Edmonton in the next few years.

Overall, the Detroit Falcons had a great run last season with their three rookies but they didn’t have much experience to make it far in the playoff. They drafted the two best defensemen’s in the draft and one of the best player at the mid third round! Now that they are consider as superstars in the juniors, the fans are eager to see them. This time, they have much more pressure since everyone in Detroit expect them to have a shot in the finals. Unfortunately, the organisation was hoping that a certain whale would have their back but it wasn’t the case. RIP
