DD: Hi I'm Darren Dreger and today I have with me one of the top prospects for the S41 SMJHL entry draft Leshaun King. Leshaun thanks for joining us.

LK: It's a pleasure to be here.

DD: So your biography just dropped, and my God is that ever something, it's so hard to believe, it must have been hard to write.

LK: Yeah, you know some people around me knew of my childhood, like bits and pieces of it and word sort of got out and one day a write approached me and asked if they could do a bit on me. My dad thought it could help get my name out there for the draft so I went with it.

DD: Unbelievable. I would ask you more about it but I don't want to deprive people of the amazing twists and turns of reading it.

LK: Haha thanks I appreciate that.

DD: So lets talk draft. I'm not going to ask you what team you want to go to, because lets be honest, very few people every answer that directly.

LK: Honestly I don't know if I could answer it even if I wanted to, I barely know anything about these teams yet.

DD: Fair enough, but we'll have some fun. And we can talk about aesthetics, from a purely face value lets look at each club and tell me what you think.

LK: Haha okay sounds good, just as long as every GM hearing this knows this has no bearing on my draft preference.

DD: For sure. Okay first up . Jersey and logo, what do you think?

LK: Uhm, I'm not a huge fan of the red and white to be honest, just frankly not great colours on a black man. But they definitely have a classy look. And the falcons have been here since S5 so a storied franchise.

DD: Okay so not big on red, no problem. What do you think about

LK: I like the logo, very freash and daring. Newer franchise been here since S25 so I can leave a mark with the organiation. I'd say in terms of jerseys and aesthetic above detroit.

DD: Okay we're getting an order going. Alright, what do you think?

LK: So storied franchise, here since S10. I like their alternates a bit better, but again too much red, logo is a bit dull to. Like whats your mascot if your team name is impact. I'll go so far, aesthetically then then :impact: . Their logo sort of kills it for me.

DD:Wow, made these questions will damage your draft stock.

LK: What are you doing to me Dregs? haha

DD: Okay next up .

LK: Those are really cool. Love that its a unique mascot, and I think black and yellow are my colours. I can see myself in like a black or yellow or a blue white and red, rock the UK colours. Just not a fan of the all red. So I'll say they're tops right now.

DD: Okay we'll try to pick up the pace here. and ?

LK: Raptors, are pretyy bold. But a bit kiddish with the design. Like looks like a toy I'd buy my nephew. Colours aren't bad. Firebirds have a sick logo, too bad they do the all red again. But I think I could work it. Update... hmmm... then then then

DD: Okay last two and

LK: I think both are really fresh designs. Kelowna has a really cool logo and I can get behind a green jersey. Vancouver, just is hella classy and I love the blue and green. I could see myself rocking either of those to.

DD: So overall rankings?

LK: Those were first impressions, the more I look at any of them the more I can see msyelf wearing them. I'm just excited to get drafted and join one of these clubs. I have my jersey for international play. So I like wearing blue/white/red so maybe the impact jersey would feel most at home, I don't know I had that one last before. Haha

DD: Okay fair enough. So in terms of what you would be looking for in a team, whats most important to you.

LK: Well I want to win. Thats number one. So obviously a well run organization which will be able to challenge for cups. I want to contribute a lot to that. I want to play maker on the PP, I want to play big minutes SH and I want to be a 1st and double shift on 4th pairing guy. But thats on me, I need to play the way I need to play to earn those minutes. I don't expect anything to be given to me.

DD: What kind of D do you think you play best with?

LK: Well I'm a pass first guy, so a shooter. I think I'm at my best when I'm not baby sitting another D, some guy whos always jumping up, but I also want someone who will come up ice with me. So I guess a two-way D, more of a shooter and some sand paper to their game wouldn't hurt either.

DD: Yeah, always nice to have some toughness beside you. Okay well thanks for sitting with us, we'll catch up again soon.
