S42 IIHF and WJC Tickets Available

Prauge, CZE - The awaited ticket packages from the previous publication are now on sale for the S42 IIHF World Championships and World Junior Championships. (Previous publication found at: http://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=88110)

We wanted to use this opportunity to honor four of the greatest Czechsoslovakian ice hockey players ever to suit up the national team. Therefore the four different packages are being represented by four of Czechoslovakia’s greatest players of all time.

The Union Flex Pack is represented by one of the most beloved members in Czechoslovakian ice hockey history. Slappy McDoodle won the hearts of fans from Czechoslovakia from a young age by being one of the most ferocious players ever to skate on international ice. During the 172 games he played for the Czechoslovakia international team he registered the most hits in team history with 501. His grit and passion for the game will be remembered by hockey fans for years to come.

Being honored with representing the Silver 18 Game Pack is Zallerras Szlercheck,one of the greatest two way players ever to play for Czechoslovakia. Scoring 49 goals (3rd most in team history), 82 assists (2nd most in team history), 128 points (3rd most in team history) and 390 hits (2nd most in team history), he showed himself to be a dangerous player with and without the puck. He managed to be plus seven during his time with Czechoslovakia, putting him just under Sachimo Zoidberg for high plus-minus in Czechoslovakia history. He’s inspired an entire generation of young players would model their own game after his.

The Gold 18 Game Pack is being represented by the greatest goaltender Czechoslovakia has ever had, Christoffer Bjornsson. Throughout Bjornsson’s 94 games played for Czechoslovakia he had a record of 45-38-9, with a .908 save percentage and a 2.76 goals against average. His two record breaking statistics are playing 5582 minutes and making 2802 saves during his time in the net for Czechoslovakia. You’d be hard pressed to find a goalie more beloved by fans than him. Through thick and thin he was the team’s heart and soul for as long as he played.

Finally the Full Pack is represented by arguably the greatest player in Czechoslovakian ice hockey history, Pierre-Luc Laflamme. Laflamme holds Czechoslovakia's records for the most goals (63), assists (89), points (152), and games played (202) in international play. No other player from Czechoslovakia has played more minutes than Pierre-Luc Laflamme. For his time and commitment to the team we honor him.

Unfortunately due to the high costs of running an event this large and the high demand the for tickets we have been forced to start the pricing of single game tickets at a cost of 1323 Kc, which at the current exchange rate translates to about 60 USD. The best thing you can do to lower ticket prices in the future is to write to the IIHF requesting larger budgets for hosting countries to allow us to rent larger venues and therefore offer more tickets at lower prices.

Additionally, if you are unable to attend as many games as you would like, there will be viewing parties for each country at designated restaurants and bars throughout the cities the teams will be playing in. There is no entry fee for these viewing parties, however food and beverages are not provided by the iIHF. More information on these viewing parties will be available shortly.

Being a part of the European Union, Austria's official currency is the euro. The current exchange rate between the Czech koruna to the euro is 1:.0039, meaning the cost the cheapest single game ticket is about 51 euros. If you are planning on attending more than one game we recommend looking into the packages that are available as costs go as low as 1000 kc or about 39 euros per game.
