LARGEST PUNISHMENT IN SHL HISTORY
#2

Hello @NJBadApple, I'll be your grader for this week. I primarily mark graphics on techniques used, composition and how the image itself turns out. I know that graphics are a pretty subjective thing to grade but I will do my best to be fair and give recommendations on what to focus on improving, if I feel that there is a need to improve.

If you aren't happy with your grade, appeals will be handled via contacting the head of GFX grading (Lazyeye).

Now let's get into it.

Submission 1:
Great render placement. Text placement is fun and works here, although I think that there isn't enough lighting here it creates a point where the viewer is focused between the face of the render and the text. No real foreground here but the lighting on top of Pavelski's helmet is nice.

8/10 - $825,000

Submission 2:
Definitely my favourite of the bunch. Yellowish hue looks phenomenal here. Text work is basic but really works. I really like how the text is under your render but still stands out. Nice lighting behind the render. No real foreground here as well but I can't expect you to do much with like a 125 px. height lol. Maybe could have used some edge lighting to further bring focus to the center but again, that's real nitpicky.

9/10 - $950,000

Submission 3:
This one imo is too busy and causes it to suffer. Render placement is really good and I LOVE the text, but there's a distinct lack of lighting except for the fractal stocks at the bottom (imo i would erase the bit on parise's face). Again, could have used some edge lighting.

7/10 - $700,000

Submission 4:
Nice render placement, text is very nice as well. What's up with the blue bar through the render's nameplate? would have looked better IMO if you left it as it is or blurred the back of the render. The blue stands out like a sore thumb, especially as there is no other blue in the sig save for the render. Lighting at the top of the helmet is good. Lighting on the text is a little distracting from the render and drives the viewer's attention in 2 different places.

7/10 - $700,000

Overall Thoughts:
- really good stuff overall
- big fan of the skinny sigs, nice to see someone mix it up. might jack it for my own use baby.
- looks better without borders imo but that's your own call to make.
- there are a lot of similarities between all 4 so that's why i didn't really touch on the same between all 4, just pointed them out when i saw them.
- I personally think sharpening the renders or using topaz adjust here would have made the sigs look tighter AF but that's up to you.

Total: $3,175,000
