Sig 1: 4/10 = 400K
I really like the predraft excitement, and for your first two submitted signatures, I'm glad that this excitement is reflected in your creativity. I definitely enjoy less conventional signatures. The background draft image is utilized well, but unaltered. The blur effect works if there is a sharper foreground image to drive the focus to, but your SHL insignia and text have been distorted by a multiplied overlay or a texture layer effect. The crisp and formal text fight the theme of the scratched and distressed texture, and their use together clashes. Sig 2: 5/10 = 500K Clever idea for a draft ticket. The color swap was well executed (be careful of your masking on the hand), and the flesh tone color maintenance looks great. Changing it all to match the blacks and grays of the SHL logo was the right move. The flares that were added to the player render don't do much in terms of effects, but light manipulation is certainly the route to take to enhance your renders (check out the camera raw filter). The stripes on the bottom right foreground look good, but they are employed as an afterthought. The top left off canvas flare works, but fading it directly into these stripes gives a bit of harsh contrast, and the mini flares/sparkles in between look out of place because they are not as crisp as the bottom right lines. Also, the size is a little awkward. I graded this as a signature, but its application should be considered when creating a signature. If something is really large, it is going to awkwardly fill up the page. check out Karey's sig, or other tall ones on this thread to get a feel for structure. Sig 3: 5/10 = 500K Your flares are a bit more in place in this piece. it has a softer feel as a whole. The structure and composition is much more traditional. The text is a little chunky and applied as more informative and less decorative (ideally it should be a balance that fits the composition). The garnishes and details are just brushes above the player layers. I understand that you can't really do too much of a color/jersey swap before the player's a drafted, but the application looks very cut and paste. This is a step in the right direction and definitely was more aggressive than previous attempts. Sig 4: 4/10 = 400K Using the unmasked pictures with the exposed edges makes this feel a little too collage-like. If you could find a better way to incorporate the background images into the canvas things would start better, but the red and black uneven borders make this signature look like it was created in powerpoint. The foreground player looks good, and the bottom lighting flare helps (most will prefer the player to blend into the background there, but i think in this scenario it works). The soft flares distract from the crisp lines everywhere else, and with the photo's edges present, the flares just draw attention to the contrasting elements. The corner text is applied relatively well and the color works, but the black center text is illegible, and not helped by the changing colors of its background or the flares. The red center text has the helpfl white drop layer with it, so the eye doesnt get as lost, but with the small black text the drop layer isn't really a great option, so focus on writing over friendly backgorunds first. I like the hustle and look forward to seeing your style develop. Total Payout = 1.8M x 2 = 3.6M |
