We have another interview stage finds the interviewer and special guest Jon Forty-One on the stage getting. Eventually after a mic check the interview proceeds. Interviewer: So, we're almost a quarter of the way through games this season and I'm happy to be joined by Vancouver Whalers rookie, Jon Forty-One again. Jon Forty-One: Aye, thanks for having me. I can't wait to talk about what has been going on. It has been a very interesting experience so far! Interviewer: Well, the first question has to be how is it going for you? Jon Forty-One: That is...That is quite a loaded question honestly. I don't really think I can answer that with just a “Yeee it's aiiight fam!” you know? Best I could really give you is 2 thumbs up. (Jon then proceeds to give to big thumbs up. It kind of resembles the Fonz signature 2 thumbs up.) Interviewer: Okay then let's break it down a little. How has your time been in the Vancouver locker room? Jon Forty-One: Amazing, honestly. The coaching staff help out whenever I need it, the players are supportive and the cohesion between us all is high. I think that is why we're off to a great start really. Interviewer: I see, I see. That is great to hear. Do you have any amazing moments so far? Jon Forty-One: Well, I could choose between 2 options really. The first being my first ever goal which was the game winning goal against the Militia. My first ever point as well. I celebrated like crazy or like I had won the lottery cause it meant I finally made it really. Either that or my game tying goal vs the Outlaws. We went onto win in the shoot out despise my missed penalty but to help us get the win was amazing. I got 1 star in both those games so I could say either of them would be my happiest really. Interviewer: What were you thinking right after you scored either goal? Jon Forty-One: The same thoughts for both of just pure ecstasy really. I couldn't believe it so I was screaming and a few F bombs can probably be heard. I was right thinking of “Oh, well done ol' chum. You finally did it!” but more so celebrations that everyone saw. Big goals, big celebrations. Interviewer: What about the opposite then? Jon Forty-One: Probably the minutes. This will be mainly me moaning more than a complaint since I am a rookie. It makes no sense for me to get a lot of minutes but it also isn't a great feeling. I am patient though and getting better every day I feel. You can just feel frustrated is all. Probably my biggest issue is how I've been doing on penalties. I was 0/2 this season and I'm one of the best on the team for it. I score them for fun in training but twice it had mattered I have not delivered which is annoying. We still won both shoot outs thankfully but I recently got the winner against Detroit being the only team to score which felt great. 33% is a lot healthier than 0% Interviewer: Vancouver are undefeated at home still with a 6-0 record, any reason for this? Jon Forty-One: Not really, at least I don't think. Personally I don't mind home or away fixtures but it is great to hear the Vancouver crowd be behind the team and especially behind us rookies. Interviewer: Speaking of which, how do you think they've been doing? Jon Forty-One: Kasperi Braulin is killing it in his rookie season. We all are doing really well to be fair. I think damn near all of us are doing respectable considering we're rookies. Future is definitely bright for Vancouver. Interviewer: May as well bring up the recent new of drama happening. We recently heard that tension between 2 Whalers was heating up. No-one else really commented on the incident but now that I have you what are your thoughts on this incident. Jon Forty-One: ...Everything is awesome. Everything is cool when you are a part of a team. Interviewer: Aren't those just lyrics to that Lego Movie song? Jon Forty-One: Yup. They kissed and made up and news people just ran with it and made stuff into a lot bigger than it needed to be. That is my side of the story and that is what I am going to stick with. We're still the first place team for a reason. Interviewer: We will finish with our twitter question from a Whaler's fan. A person called Mike Litorus writes: “What is the dumbest conversation you recently overheard.” Jon Forty-One: Sadly this is an easy one. I won't name any names but in 1 of our last games I was waiting for the Face-off to happen I overhear the enemy opponents. They're talking about stuff outside of the game, very unprofessional honestly but whatever. He turns to the dumb motherfucker of a rookie and asks him if he likes Bon Jovi. The rookie replies with “Oh no sorry I don't like Italian food whatsoever.” I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or get angry but that is the level of some our the less talented rookies are like. Interviewer: Oh my lord. Well, do you have any closing words? Jon Forty-One: Yeah actually. I want to thank the Whalers organisation and fan base for the warm welcome, I'm super thrilled we're doing great and able to reward you from being patient from last season. I hope I can get more game winners in the future. Shout out to any SHL scouts paying attention as well. May not be the best start compared to others but I'm making my limited minutes count and I know I can do the same in the big leagues. I said I was adaptable and that I can be coached and committed and that won't change whatsoever. I'm worth the high draft pick. Interviewer: Okay, thank you for joining us. I'm sure we will hear from you again fairly soon.
