The Anaheim Outlaws went back to home ice disappointed that they could not get a split in St. Louis. However, the teams seemed to be loose and in good spirits heading into game 3 of the Semi Final Round of the Playoffs for Season 47 of the SMJHL. The Outlaws had nothing to feel too bad about as they lost two very tight contests to the Scarecrows. Some analysts pointed out that the refs were biased toward the home town favorites. Since the Outlaws actually lead in Power Play attempts six to five we are unsure how anyone could make that assumption. As a matter of fact, the Outlaws went 0-5 in attempts in the first game so if anyone was to blame it was their special teams unit.

Speaking of Power Play opportunities, the Scarecrow would convert on one of their own, only one minute and nine seconds into the first period. The Power Play chance came off of a controversial call of goaltender interference just thirteen seconds into the first. Corey Kennedy skated towards the goal and lost an edge running into Billy Sorokin. The crowd was unhappy with the call and it got worse when St. Louis went up one to nothing. The players didn't let the call or the goal get into their heads as they got the equalizer just one minute and forty nine seconds latter! The hometown cheers continued for the rest of the period as both teams skated off in a 1-1 tie. The Outlaws had control of the game after the St. Louis goal getting 12 shots on net with 7 scoring chances. It seems they were implementing the strategy "getting the pucks on net", no matter how it looks.

The second period would be a defensive struggle as St. Louis only had four shots on net. The Outlaws didn't do much better as they only had six. No goals and the only penalty came at 7:49. Mathias Seger was called for holding and the minor penalty gave the Scarecrows two minutes to take the lead. The crowd along with the penalty kill unit for the Outlaws managed to not allow even one shot on goal! Once again, both clubs, headed into the the locker rooms, tied in a deadlock, at one to one. It was a must win situation for Anaheim and the team did not want to let the Fans down on home ice.

The third period's play was far more loose compared to the second. Tyler Tougard, lit the lamp only twelve seconds into the third and it looked grim for the Outlaws. Anxiety and worry, crept into the arena as you could see many fans praying to the forces that be. Five minutes and fifteen seconds later... the arena would explode in joy, as the Outlaws would tie things up two to two. Krsters Dzelme, got his first goal of the playoffs and what a time to get it! Slap McShotty got his first assist as well and you could see the momentum shift back to the Outlaws. The refs were letting both teams play and cases could be made on both sides for missed calls. Anaheim took advantage of a weary defense as the Crows were unable to make a line change and they scored the eventual game winner at 14:25 of the third period to win three to two. The party continued outside the arena for a few hours as SMJHL Tonight was on hand and broke down the game. Anaheim still trails the series two games to one but they found a crack in the Scarecrows wall and hope to break through to tie up the series in game four!
