You could see the agony on his face as he knew he had to get rid of the potato, but still didn't want to hurt anyone. He lightly tapped O'Hritea and snuck the potato away. While barely classified as a hit, it was his lone hit of the game.

Sulak O'Hritea, the third line left wing for Hamilton, had heard about the potato situation before the game. He made it a point to tell his team mates that he wouldn't be stuck with it if he got it. As soon as he got it, he started throwing the body in every direction. He missed a lot, but finally connected to get rid of it. He finished the game with 2 hits, and lots of bruises from hitting the boards so much.

Tatu Makela, fourth pairing defenseman for Buffalo, never thought he'd get the potato. Not a big physical force, he could be seen on the bench asking other guys on his team how to get rid of it. Apparently they told him to abuse the elderly, because he absolutely destroyed Robert Phelps. As Phelps was on the ice, Makela laughed and put the potato on his chest.

Robert Phelps, the star center of Hamilton, is a player who's approaching the end of their career. After the brutal hit that got him the Potato, he had a fairly relaxed rest of the game. He didn't look for any big hits, and accepted he'd hold the Potato until the next game.

Also a pacifist, Phelps held the potato until the third period of his following game. After the game, he said the guys were ragging on him in the second intermission. He found a suitable target and chased him down to make the hit.

Wolfhard Richter, one half of the third defense pairing on Toronto, was surprised he acquired the Potato. He never expected an old man to hit him so hard. After the game, he went on record as saying - "I'm really not sure what to make of it, but Phelps held his stick in one hand and screamed 'you shall not pass!' when he hit me.". Apparently he passed, since he snuck a hit in in Duggan to get rid of the potato.

Jax Duggan, second pair defense on Hamilton, decided to play the long con. He knew what it meant when he acquired the potato, and knew Toronto would be looking for a handoff. He decided to keep the potato until the next game, where he'd break it out on some unsuspecting fool.

Duggan finally found some unsuspecting fool. As Schroder was trying to break up the ice, he had no clue Duggan was going to smash a Potato off his head. Duggan rids himself of the potato, while wishing he had some Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes from Taco Bell during intermission.

Ludwig Koch Schroder had no intention of holding onto the Potato. In addition to his two assists, he had one hit. Playing on the second and fourth pairings, the cagey veteran knew he had to get rid of the potato quick. He made a quick hip check and got off the ice. Not fancy, but effective.
