The LotW is a player that has made outstanding contributions to our team both on and off the ice. They will have performed well in the sim, not necessarily only points wise but made great contributions to the team in general. Off the ice, the locker room is integral to the Lethbridge experience and we want to recognize the members that make it special and keep everyone coming back day after day.
The player who wins this award the most times by the end of the season will take home our new team award for Lion of the Season during our yearly team awards ceremony.
Coming out of this week the Lethbridge Lions were sitting at 15-13 with a winning record. Though that record isn't top among the SMJHL, it is very good for a young team. The Lion of the Week this week was a HUGE contributor to our success in this record. While he doesn't get a lot of praise, but not being out there every night, this guy contributes in ways that is unseen by people outside of the Lethbridge locker room. He has a great presence and an amazing attitude. Loves to see the team do well, whether he is in between the pipes or not. Running to get us coffee or cheering the guys on from the bench, he is a constant presence on this young team. I think by now you have figure out who the Lion of the Week is. Oh, did I mention that over this stretch he got really hot for Lethbridge and put up a 5-3 record with a 1.09 GAA and a .913 SV%.
