With Season 49 in the books, and the IIHF tournament fast approaching, Great Britain Federation Head Ed Balls @
Flareon gathered the team to vote on their choice for their captain. Overall the team was largely silent, and sat sipping their tea while they stared at Mr. Balls. It got kind of awkward, but in true British fashion everybody merely sighed and stayed quiet. Slowly some players began casting votes for their choices, but overall the Great Britain players opted to take naps instead of voting. With an overwhelming majority of votes (with three) I would like to announce this season's captain of Great Britain....
Hey it's me! For some reason three people decided to vote for me so here we are, captain Jimmy Slothface. They must have seen my playoff performance with New Orleans and been inspired.
Ed Balls, no doubt seeing how excited the team was about the captain vote, charged me with picking my alternate captains. I opened up the locker room for bribes, but unfortunately I did not receive any and I was forced to make the decision. After many, many minutes of deliberation I have chosen my alternates for the upcoming tournament!
My first alternate captain will be.......

Tweedle has always been great in the... well Great Britain locker room (and even noticed that captain announcement before I did!). Tweedle has been one of the SHL members that I've enjoyed from the very beginning from the Halifax locker room, and I am very happy to have him as an alternate. As a Season 44 player I believe he is even one of our older players (I am not going to fact check that) so he can bring wisdom to the captains group because we all know I have none.

Glutes joined at the same time as me in Season 46 and he has ALSO been great in the Great Britain locker room. He is a constant presence and always seems to be managing to make me laugh. He also forms a great defensive pairing with fellow Wolfpack player Perry Morgan, and should be a big part of the Great Britain leadership moving forward on and off the ice.

A promise is a promise and here we are.
To be honest we have a lot of great people in the Great Britain locker room, and they have plenty of good players in the sim. I don't think I really deserve to be captain over almost anybody else on the team, but I would be lying if I said this didn't make me happy to get voted as captain. I'm hoping that I don't completely crap the bed on the ice and help lead the team back to the medal round!
