Alexandersen's last open mic Jr Presser for s23
#1

The former 1st overall pick in the SMJHL and the SMJHL World Heavyweight Champion Asbjørn Alexandersen would like to take the time to have a Q&A with anyone who cares to ask. So join the conversation and let's have a chat. I can even talk things Smith too if you like as well.

In regards to Smith... I'd like to thank Taron for bringing me to LA so I could enjoy a long career there and getting my number raised there. Without you this wouldn't have happened so a big thank you.

Also thanking Wasty & Morley and the Panthers for the many fun seasons we had.

Any talks with the GM lately and waht are the chances you play there if drafted?

Do you see yourself back in Detroit next season? And if so, is revenge on your mind for the cup?[/b]

Thank you for the question Mr. Benson. The deal with Toronto is that I get to try something new and also that they are deep on the wings so it wouldn't feel like a good place for me. Guys like Laflamme, Ocho, Cunny (who'll probably move to the middle), Eriksson, Reid, Sawyer, Swerin the depth on the wings looks a little tight to bust through. Plus experience in Toronto the room is a lot quieter than I liked.
I had a chat with JNH and told him the depth was my concern and it wouldn't be a fit. I told him if they opted to draft me I would do my three seasons and test Free Agency. Always wanted to in the league as I never had the chance to. I see myself returning to Detroit for a chance of revenge. It's going to potentially be a different squad due to trades and also players getting a chance to crack their SHL teams. I want the cup so it would be great to try my chance on the top line for Detroit to help carry them to a cup.

Last official talks I had with teams was with co-GM Jordan FourFour of Texas. 44 and I have a good history so who knows. Alex hasn't said a word to me recently about Texas just that they would need defence. Thank you for the fun questions!

Quote:Originally posted by Hi-C@Mar 27 2015, 06:50 PM<br />Interview If you don't not wind up being selected 1st overall, how far could you see yourself falling?

Conversations have been quiet so some are projecting a 2nd or 3rd overall in the draft selection. But I am kind of skeptical as GMs have stated they would be looking for defence. If trades are to be made then it could really shake up the draft and maybe where I get selected. Imagine if West Kendall flipped out that 2nd overall pick. It's a huge trade chip they have and they can use it for immediate improvement (which I thought they would have so far) but they got time. So many variables to be honest that I cannot answer.

What are some of your favorite team memories, championships or otherwise with Smith?

Who was your favorite defensive partner during Smith's career? Who did you play best with?

If you return to Detroit next season with Alexandersen, what can fans expect to see from you in a feature role?

How excited will Esa be if you return?

Thank you Esa... Being the first SMJHL World Heavyweight Champion and retaining it against Svensson is a great feeling. Good competition but not good enough. And idk if you can borrow it. I'll let you touch it but I cannot let you borrow it. It feels awesome to be the franchise player and I am lucky enough no one tried to cash in their Money in the Bank contract on me to try to steal it.. Would have been foolish anyway.

My favourite memories with Smith.. there are so many that I'll list a few. The first greatest memory was in S10 beating the Montreal Impact for the Four Star Cup as captain. Then many seasons later becoming co-GM and opening the Whalers Hockey Hall of Fame which hasn't gotten much attention since I inducted 3 amazing ex-Whalers in Richan, Partlow and Dooley. That was a huge honour to have this organization and be the one to make that announcement. My next favourite with Smith was the Four Star Cups with hallsy watching the sim live knowing we won but couldn't say a word until the games were posted.

After that it was getting promoted to the co-chair in LA with Wasty after we had many talks which resulted in my transition to defence for the team and then a season later winning the Challenge Cup as General Manager. After that my next favourite was when I retired and the Panthers retired my number. That feeling when the organization honours your years of service is so amazing since they don't do that for everyone.

My best defensive partner... oh god I think I taught a lot of good lessons as I got to be partners with Velevra and Winnfield both whom won great things after I parted lessons with them after they moved on. Then there is that kid Stryker who was a good defencemen when we were in LA. So many players that I got a chance to play with in LA. Then to add the amazing players in Toronto of Stryfe and Scherbluk. Then getting a chance to share my years of experience with one of the best upcoming defencemen in the league Magnus Vikstrand in Edmonton. So to pick a favourite and best is hard as it seems you work with Smith great things follow you later.

If I return to Detroit I think Esa would be elated to have Alexandersen back the top pick and beast incarnate would help Detroit as many veterans will be heading to the big leagues. Alexandersen would hope to live up to the hype and score many goals for the Falcons and help lead them to the Four Star Cup... maybe as captain who knows?

Edited the title for you Smile

Which teams have said you'll be their choice if you fall to them?

Where do you feel you would best fill a need, whether it be now or in the future?

How has the Norway LR been since their recent successes in the IIHF Tournament?

Thank you for the questions McIvannaPartyWithTheHoesButCant,
I will do my best to answer these questions to the best of my ability since I do not have access to head office to know if some trades have been made in secret (I remember doing this to fuck up the mock drafts haha). To answer the first question I actually haven't had a lot of talks about draft destinations. Just had a chat with Texas to be honest. With the way how we were talking during the season I have to assume everyone thinks if I fall to 3rd I would be landing in Texas so I think teams haven't really reached out to me because of this.

The Norway Locker Room has picked up a bit, its enjoyable seeing people want to be part of our tiny family and it makes being a Federation Head of a smaller country that much more potentially rewarding.

Where it comes to teams that could use me now and potentially down the future there could be quite a lot. Not many teams have the option of drafting a +300 TPE player right out of the draft for a winger. Toronto could it just depends on the future of Sawyer which is a concern of Toronto management but Toronto appears to be looking at a guys like Benson/Svensson to fix a need as I predicted (C/D).

Hamilton and their old time team pickup style could most definitely use my services. About 100 TPE behind Webb and Jakobson is in hot water there and a lot of their guys I am half of their achieved TPE and been around from s15. Then there is my old buddy Donini that Hamilton acquired who'll be regressing big time. They could really use some fresh new blood but looks like Tanner wants to avoid that word rebuild/retool.

Then let's look at the defending champs the Rage. If they were looking for a 3rd line winger at the present I could potentially beat out of Arrowny to be honest but that is essentially the only spot I could steal.. well maybe Constantine's in the future but that all depends on Manhattan's future. But this team wants to win now so I call it a no match.

Just like the Chiefs I could easily find a way to look at potentially stealing a spot if Stryker would go from forward to defenceman I could easily steal a spot on that wing without an issue. Especially if Minnesota uses Kallestrom at center than I could easily slide in on that right wing. Sitting only 173 TPE behind Banananov if with more work in theory could steal that spot... but that's just a question of management as now has had some time to earn as I only got this far in my single season.

New England I could potentially be the eventual replacement of buddy Phil Schenn or Kovalenko when Schenn retires or be the potential Kovalenko replacement but that just depends on how New England would do their lines, but that is me pushing it as this team is quite deep and would be hard to crack. Could it be possible, sure I could crack it but it all depends on who I piss off by quickly passing them in TPE.

Head to Calgary and lets face it, with my work ethic as everyone saw I could potentially claim almost any spot on that lineup up front besides Esa Anrikkanen that TPE whore is a staple in Calgary and should be their captain. Best piece to market the team that people like. You may be good but marketability and free agent desires are based on the players people like too many people are not fans of Gorlab it seems so him being the 'face of the franchise' is not "Best for Business". The one player I may not pass in the quick present with roster TPE is Lemer, everyone else on the wing looks like I could easily replace them. Another reason why I believed Calgary needs to rebuild by moving some of their older assets.

Edmonton is a crazy deep top 6 team now and if I could crack this roster it would be on that third line which would not be an issue for a rookie. If I could fall there who knows what Tez would do but to be a 3rd line winger on this amazing organization is no laughing matter. With L Smith (& Smith) and Forsberg retiring and Edmonton trading some talent it would be a possibility to join that 3rd line if I fell to them.

Oh the defending Western Conference Champions the only players I could potentially replace are their aging veterans in Grigori Pajari, John Langabeer it seems. This team is deeper than most think and if you are thinking many years down the line I could be added if Morley opts to retire. But no one is beating TPE whore Yuri Boyka and his 699716 TPE.

The Riot I could be a future player but they have older folks in Winter and Kylrad who potentially could retire and I could replace their roster spot in due time. But other than them, they have a good team and with another pick who knows what they can do.

The Renegods as they call themselves it all depends on how they shape their lineup. Wingels is retiring so that is a spot to take over and then there is old man Gibbon who is just a relic and could easily put him on the bench haha there is just so much potential with their lineup so its a matter to management.

If your looking at the Jets and TPE there are lots of guys in due time I could potentially replace if I whore my way past them. It all depends on who is ready to fight. With some of their players a little older and possibly not updating it seems. There could be a way to sneak myself easily into Winnipeg.

Thanks for the question!

What do you feel you/Detroit needs to improve on for next season?

How's the weather in Detroit?
[/quote]

Thank you sir for your questions and you are more than welcome.

What do I feel Detroit's biggest need to improve on for next season. That's a tough one as we are not so sure who will be joining us next season. As everyone knows Detroit was a major send down team and now we risk losing a lot of guys to their respected SHL clubs. So there could potentially be 8+ holes to fill to be honest. I can see Demko, Johnson, Knusten and myself being returned which now gives us 2/3s of a top line, a goalie and a defencemen. But what else is left I am not so sure of. So, I guess we just need to make our draft count just in case we don't get the people we need to return to be able to compete next season. It's going to be challenging as we felt this was our year to win but some curve balls were thrown at us.

haha the weather from Detroit... It's not that bad. It's a nice spring day today so that was nice. Got do so some spring cleaning of some junk that just needed to leave the property so waiting to take it to the junk yard (all metal) so gonna make some coin from it. How do I know this.. I actually live on the other side of the river in Canada opposite from Detroit.
