Where do you see yourself going in the draft?
If I'll make the right moves, I could be in the late first round, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be an early second round pick.

Incredible season. What was the best moment other than winning the championship?
The best moment? I had 2 min penalty for diving in my first SMJHL pre-season game. This wasn't the best moment, but it was sure funny as hell for me. :lol:

You're behind the other top draftees in TPE by a bit. Do you think that this will motivate you? Can you catch up?
I already cought up a bit. 244 now, if I look at GLU's report, it's a shared 10th place in TPE. Just a bit more activity from me, and everything gonna be alright. B)

Are there teams that stand out to you in the draft?
There are some teams I like, but only one of them showed some interest in me. Actually, if there is a team that know where to put me, and knows how to use me and NEEDS me, then it will be a good team for me.

Which SHL team you like and which dislike and why?
There are no teams that I dislike. Well, I have some problems with one guy from Dragons roster (you know who :lol: ), but nothing else. As I said, if a team needs me, then I like that team. :lol: Sometimes simplicity is the best option.

Are you ready to be send-down?
Yes. I'm already thinking about staying in Knights for another two seasons, just to make up for that inactivity of mine. And I may not be ready for big league even after second season in SMJHL. But will see how things work out after next season.

Who is your most annoying teammate on Knights?
:lol: :lol: I'm not sure. I was inactive for some time, so not even one of all my teammates anoyed me.

Who is your favourite teammate on Knights?
Tough one. GLU is a cool guy, Harter too. And Ales always wants to help, he's a good teammate. B)

On what team you'd like to be drafted?
Edmonton, LA. Seattle isn't a bad option too.

Do you enjoy Kelowna LR?
It would be better, if someone was actually near my timeline. :lol: So I wasn't the most active guy in there.

It's always a pleasure to hear good words from your own mates. It motivates to keep on going no matter what happens.

How do you think after how many seasons I'll put you in Latvia NT roster?
How should I know that? :lol: I have a friendly competition with another new latvian defenseman - Martins Ziepins. He's a bit ahead of me, but after season or two we both are going to be in Latvia roster, I'm sure about that.

Will you be excited if you and Ziepiņš will land at the same team after upcoming SHL draft?
It's always exciting to be in a team with fellow latvians. If I look at this specifically, then it would only bring that Latvia roster competition to one team and make it even more interesting. :ahh!:

Why Berķis, not Beņķis?
That nickname doesn't sound that good in here. :lol: Remember! In LSHL - Beņķis, in SHL - Chewy.

I hope so. It's up to Jedi and Jon to decide, bring me in the first pairing or not. It would be awesome, to bring cup to Kelowna for third season in a row. So, that's my biggest goal for next season.

I should probably work on that, and get less minutes. :lol: But it would be nice, to lead in +/- and shot blocking. Maybe even in points for defenseman. o:-)
