Eichel will be the 1C. If he isn't then he'll be a disappointment. Matthews should probably be on the team too, likely over Backes or Kesler.

The kid will be 21 by the oylmpics lol if hes the number 1 C by then I think USA is in trouble.

Far too much pressure, hes a special player but too much too fast unless hes tearing the league up. I can see him being a top player for the USA but to expect him to light it up and play a huge role first year is crazy.

I could see Mcdavid missing his first oylmpics part cuz Canada is deeper than USA.

Honestly I wouldn't even be surprised if they choose to not play Eichel in the USA I know it seems crazy, less likely than Mcdavid but I think its more likely than him playing first line C

Okay, Matthews probably won't make it, but I'm a firm believer in Eichel. I really think he'll be the best American center come next Olympics.

Keep in mind, Patty Kane was 21 when he made the Olympic roster and he was a great player for us. I think Eichel can replicate that.

I'm not saying he can't…i hope he does.
but to say if he isn't the 1st line C by next Olympics then he is a disappointment is insane.
I hope he is…and i think he definitely can be, but I'm not gonna call him a disappointment if he has to play 2nd or 3rd line C in his first ever Olympics Smile)

You guys wanna know something really cool? I'm still in contact with the scout from Calgary that I talked to last year and he was pretty impressed with my development. He told me that while I shouldn't be expecting to get drafted either this year or the next (unless I absolutely blow the doors off the league I'm going to this year), that they're definitely going to be keeping an eye on me. I've actually gotten this from two NHL teams according to my private coach

What league do you play in? Or are going to play in

I played in a decent to bad tier 3 league as part of the NA3 last year. This year I'm moving up to the second best one in the country, the EHL, even though I have offers to go to the NAHL right now

Why don't you go on to the NAHL then?

It's actually a multitude of reasons. I'm a late bloomer because I took 2 years off of hockey due to depression after my dad passed away and really just started skating seriously 3 years ago. Due to that, I need to go to college if I want to have any chance of playing semi-pro hockey. My body grew but because I wasn't skating, my foot speed didn't come with me. As a 6'5", 210 pound defenseman, I'm going to live and die by my foot speed. Four, at least three, years of college hockey will be the best thing for me and the EHL is based in all of New England where all of the big hockey schools are on the East Coast. Way more than out in the midwest where the NA is based. I want to get all of the attention I can on me as it's my last year of juniors.

I have a pretty good start to that as I've carved out a pretty good name for myself in New England. I won the Hockey Night in Boston Top Pro Prospect award. That particular award has been given to NHLers such as Nick Bonino, Andrew Cogliano, Brian Boyle, and Jon Quick. Just having that is a big help already. I was the headline for my new team's article in the August issue of USA Junior Hockey Magazine. I'm also coming off the best season of my career, posting 21 points in 38 games. A huge improvement from the season before that where I posted six assists in 33 games and I split it between two teams.

I also get to play with my best friend and D partner of three, going on four, years. He and I excel together so it only makes sense because it puts us in the best possible situation to succeed

Pilon would be a bigger reach so I think you made the right choice tbh. The D from now until about 50 are all pretty even with some exceptions. Zboril is a Robert Hagg sort of prospect where he has all the tools but lacks consistency. Not a bad pick but not a great one
