So for a couple of responses on things I saw in this thread:

1) Cuffy, you guys lost the 2nd rounder the season he had the multi, not because of the multi. That one was lost because of the constant tampering Riggsy did in the season prior.

2) Why should there be a harsher punishment? Most of this is punishing Edmonton by having us lose one of our top players for half the season. None of us knew of this until a couple days ago (With both Knights GMs on the team, trust me there would've been a lot of pushback) and we never benefitted from his other player. But so he has to be punished, we have to be punished as well. It is what it is, and we accept the punishment and understand why it must be. I was involved in this process and at no point denied anything and at no point was against any of the punishment.

I just feel that if we made this harsher, it only punishes a team that had no part in this and has players who were affected in the SMJHL by this be screwed over a second time from it. So I don't see why there's a call for harsher punishment.

He has $50 mil in his bank account. How does the discipline committee not touch this for punishment?

Is there an existing punishment posted somewhere for mult'ing that they had to abide by? Surely a GM creating & acquiring a multi is worth more than this laughable peepee slap punishment.

If Discipline committee needs someone who isn't softer than eskimo kisses, I can re-apply. :>

He should get a harsher punishment. 25 games for a GM cheating to win games in a sim league? That's honestly very, very light. I'm assuming he can still earn points during this period, too? Yeah, if he's doing this as a non-GM with no other motive than to fill up his life with some more sim league excitement, sure, it's a fine punishment although still a bit light. But as a GM who blatantly broke the rules with the sole purpose of winning more games, this is extremely lenient. Honestly, from all the comments here, it seems like this type of shit happens too often here and that's not really good to see as a new member. I have to imagine many other new guys feel the same way I do. I just see this as something that can't be tolerated and if a precedent hasn't been set for something like this, one needs to be set and he has to be punished according to his level of power in the league. General Managers are supposed to be held to a higher standard and he should face severe punishment for this. Then again, what I say probably means nothing but I don't think I'm alone in expressing these feelings.

It was posted after the SMJHL finals were finished. The Whalers need to find a new GM asap.

If anything, the finals should help quiet this down some more.

Just a question, something we should think about

Why does tampering warrant a full season suspension plus fines and draft picks etc but creating a multi and screwing a team is only 25 games?

Not saying yousuf deserves more but either the tampering penalty needs to be lowered or the multi penalty needs to be raised because in my eyes, creating a multi that is eventually caught and therefore revoked from a team is just as harmful as tampering another teams player

Idk why people keep making multis (especially people that have been around the site for awhile) you're inevitably going to get caught. Just a matter of when not if lol.

Yousuf is a good guy tho, he'll bounce back from this.

I was thinking the same thing. Sucks because this was one guy who I really respected, I still do, but it goes to show, you really can't be sure who you can trust.

I agree. He deserves a fine, and I deserve reparations for the terrible things I have just witnessed. Gimmie some of that sweet sweet moolah.
