Interview Do you believe the sim is 'random' or is line-making and strategizing more important than people seem to think?

Interview Regina or Prince George?

Interview What would be your top 5 locations for potential expansion locations, if it was ever to be seriously proposed? (Not what you think the league would do, what cities would YOU like to see have an SHL fanchise?)

1. I think there is a sense of randomness, but in the same way that the Sabres could beat the Sharks twice when they're a skating garbage fire. Hockey is unlike any sport where truly on any given night anyone can win. So in that sense there is randomness, but in the end the well built teams and the better rosters are the ones that make the playoffs.

2. I thought the Regina Force was a nice looking team. Prince George Firebirds are cool as well, could maybe use a new logo.

3. Tough question, a lot of great choices out there. Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, Anaheim, Denver, but I also like the smaller cities/towns getting recognition as well. It's a sim league and it's nice to see other places be featured rather than the usual.

Don't get discouraged. There a lot of candidates here and only 12 head GM jobs. Just keep helping the league with whatever you can get and earn the trust of the members of this league, not just the ones in charge.

What's the most outrageous player build you've ever come across that actually worked the player?

Did you ever think the SHL would achieve this level of popularity and what challenges do you think we're going to face in the future as we continue to grow?

I've seen some players try to make straight goons and end up being great players. Valdas Kremer comes to mind. I miss enthropi :(

What the SHL has become today is crazy. The most outstanding thing is the reach it has around the world. So many people from places I never would have imagined. It's what makes this place as great as it is.

The main challenge will be managing so many people. There's so much to monitor and new, evolving systems of player building to take into account. Also, trying to keep things fresh while still staying true to what the SHL is all about.

Since this is your 18th one Im sorry if this has been asked before. But what are the thoughr processes of deciding to go for a full rebuild or to try and gun it out for a Cup? What must a GM weigh in order to make the right decision for the team, even if it means making the hard decisions that can be offputting?

There are certain things to try and look for. You have to look at your prospects first. If you have a solid group of prospects who are active and training that's a huge start. Chances are if you have a strong prospect pool you're SHL team isn't exactly full of elite players, but of younger players about to hit their prime or stop gaps until your prospects are ready. This is basically mid rebuild.

If you don't have a strong prospect group, chances are you have a strong SHL team and are gunning for the Cup. Now this is where you make a decision. If it's been a couple of seasons and it's just not working and your team isn't getting over the hump, it's probably best to try and trade some, not all, of your high level players for youth and picks so you can re-stock the cupboard. This is where you have to decide if a rebuild is best for you.

It's hard to let go of that strong team and rebuild. You need patience and you need to sell it to your players. The one time I had to sell was tough. We had a great team, but for some reason just couldn't close the deal. We had Hallsy, Deezy, Dion, Donini, Weber, and great complimentary pieces, but it just didn't work and the players knew it too. I traded those players to strengthen the Jets for the future. It was tough, but I knew it was for the best.

You're well on your way to success in the SHL. Just don't burn out and try to enjoy the league and the members in it. A lot of members have risen so fast and then couldn't hang on and I'm not sure why. Jobs are always good to keep you busy, but just become a member of this community and embrace discussion and debate, but don't take things too seriously and don't go overboard. The key to longevity is enjoying the community. Plus, you make friends and they'll want to play on your team.

As a SHL GM, how do you view the IIHF? Do you consider it an asset that builds value to the site or something that could be lost with no repercussions?

I don't think you've GMed a SMJHL team, but weigh in on what the differences are. If you had to choose a long-term job, would it be SHL or SMJHL and why?

You've had some of the best players the site has ever known on your team. How do we get their payer pages back? How do we get their update threads back?

Why do we start @ 155 TPE? To combat TPE inflation/soft regression, do you see the league changing this?
