1. Any leads on the possible trade with Lehner? I think there could be a deal to Edmonton with Taylor Hall in the works, but that's from multiple sources and me throwing them together.
2. Who are we looking at in terms of this years entry draft, which is approaching quick! Who do you think will get picked?
3. Alfredsson is presenting the Calder trophy at the NHL awards, does this mean Stoner won? That seems to be what the hockey insiders are leaning towards.

There's no way the Oilers would trade Hall in a deal centered around Lehner

I would cry if we did Lehner + Cowen for Eberle...I've been hearing that rumor a lot.
Nah, means nothing, Alfie was rumored to present the Calder a long time ago, chances are the NHL tried to get him to present an award a long time before Stone entered the Calder talks. That being said though, it would be a magical moment for Ottawa if Alfie does present Stone with the Calder. Massive passing the torch moment.

I also heard Eberle's name floating around Ottawa around the deadline last year, he would make a fantastic addition!
I don't think the Sens are that hard up to take another defencemen for their first pick. We need the help up front with the core that being brought up now I think.
It would be a huge moment, very special, if Alfie did indeed hand that trophy over to Stoner. I'd be surprised him winning it too.

Really? He has been a top ranked goalie for years now, and really hasn't gotten a chance to show his stuff at an NHL level except this season if you count it, which was pretty good if you ask me. Edmonton is starving for a goalie and we all know they can't keep all those guys on the roster with McDavid on his way. Hall has also been injury prone season after season. I don't see it as being very far fetched, it sounds a little crazy until you dig a little deeper.

Hall is the one they're most likely to keep as he's the one who's shown up the most. Eberle, Yakupov, Draisatl are much more likely to go before Hall imo. ESPECIALLY for Lehner who's a good goalie prospect, but goalies are the most likely players to flop. They could get Cam Talbot, Anti Niemi, or Kari Ramo. 2 of them have playoff experience, and Niemi and Ramo come free btw.
Bernier was also one of the top goaltending prospects for years who didn't have the ability to show it because Quick
He fetched a bottom 6 forward, a backup goalie and a 2nd round pick.
Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

Great points!
Eberle has been the player with the most interest drawn I believe for trade bait, and for good reason, and he would make a sweet addition to our top line.
And yes goalies are a high risk high reward player, but of those goalies listed I'd only see Talbot gaining more interest then Lehner, and look at the team difference too. The Rangers had arguably the best defence in the league, while the Senators slacked in that regard, look at the amount of games Hammond stole. I'd still place Lehner at the top of that list because of what he COULD bring to the table.
But as you pointed out with Bernier, could doesn't always transfer to WILL.

Ramo I think will be a stud, he was a monster in the series against Anaheim and was the only reason that series wasn't as sweep imo. Talbot certainly benefited from a great defense, but a .941 sv% over a 20 game season is certainly impressive.
I just really don't see Lehner fetching more than something unexciting, like draft picks or relatively hit or miss prospects, just a bit too much of a risk to spend a ton on.

Ramo is a flight risk, guy has been everywhere and hasn't really fit in, I have a feeling he will drop off this coming season if he wins the job in Calgary or if he gets traded.
Talbot and Hammond are extremely similar in stats and pretty much how they got here, yet I still see more value in Lehner to be honest. I really didn't like the Hammond signing at all, I think the Sens should have traded him away for a decent draft pick or player because I don't think he will last very long.
But maybe that's me being stubborn because I have had a lot of hope in Lehner since the day he was drafted!

Ramos a free agent so he'd be going there for free not being traded.

Oops
Maxy laying down the truth! B)
Yeah that's why I can't see a team laying down serious picks/player for a very talented player who's risky when they can get a similar player for free through free agency. Maybe once the other goalies have signed Ottawa could get more but we shall wait and see what they choose on that. Going to be a really interesting off season.
