[The Setup] The league is potentially looking at adding a SMJHL rookies vs. SHL send-downs game. This was done in the past and was a huge hit. Some may find it a difficult task to pick a top unit from the S24 SMJHL Draft class to pit against the SHL send downs. Of course, it's already an uphill battle as the SHL send downs have an extra season, at least for the vast majority of players, of experience. It's for that reason that I have absolutely no other option to go with the absolute best players available - primarily scorers - to hopefully get lucky and power our way to a high scoring victory over the SHL send downs. Without further ado... the SMJHL rookie first team.
C Evandrus Jesster :impact: 311 TPE Jesster is the obvious first choice as he leads the way among all rookies in TPE and has certainly been having a solid season to boot. His 18 points lead all rookies as not much more can be asked for out of your first line center. He is also a natural leader who is more familiar with the league than most of his peers, yet another reason why Jesster should the first player to come to anyone's mind in picking the top players of this draft class. RW Robb Wind 308 TPE Robb Wind is to Jesster as Eichel is to McDavid. While Wind is the consensus number two guy in this Season 25 SHL Draft Class, there is little reason to believe he won't be a franchise player. He has also improved at an excellent rate thus far, only a hair behind Jesster, and his performance this season has been solid among the league's rookies. Wind's leadership has also been huge for St. Louis is an extremely tough Eastern Conference as his team owns the league's best record at 14-4-2. LW Lord Pretty Flacko :impact: 230 TPE Call me biased, call me arrogant, call me whatever you want. But I want the three best forwards on the ice against the SHL send downs and Pretty Flacko is currently at the top of the class' second tier of players with 230 TPE, which is only behind Jesster and Wind. While Pretty Flacko's performance this season has not shown up as much on the scoreboard as would be expected, he has been a solid contributor in a deep Montreal top six on the second line, bringing a very high hockey IQ to the table that has helped his team win games. D Maria Maximova 225 TPE Many saw this as a questionable selection by the Knights but Maximova has been great thus far. She is fourth in the draft class in TPE, first among defensemen, while also leading rookie defensemen in points with 14 through 20 games. Her two way game will be important for this team as we have a strong focus on offensive output in an attempt to come out and gain momentum quickly against the heavily favored SHL send downs. D Bastien Salabanzi 222 TPE Well this is working out perfectly. A little shoutout to the two forwards who rank ahead of Salabanzi in TPE, Kristjan Vilhjalmsson of the Kelowna Knights with 224 and Luke Fleming of the Prince George Firebirds with 223, Salabanzi is the defenseman ranked number two in TPE among rookies. Although he has plus offensive talent and a great two-way game, it hasn't quite translated on the scoreboard this season as he currently has scored just 8 points in 20 games. Nonetheless, there's no other defenseman I'd take in front of him as he has all the offensive talent in the world and is truly living up to his draft position. G Austin Lemieux 216 TPE Aside from Wind and Jesster, this was the easiest decision as Lemieux projects to be the best goalie out of this draft class and easily has the best chance to be a starting goalie at the SHL level. He has had a rough start this season despite having a very solid team in front of him in his time split with veteran Lee Bowden, putting up a scary .863 save percentage yet has a respectable 6-3-1 record. But he does have the talent to come up big and shut a better team down and we'll be hoping to see him do so in this one! Code: 735 Words

Although the fact that it is practically impossible for the the SMJHL rookies to come out on top against, the seasoned more gritty veteran Send Downs. Although the pressure is on the Send down as if you lose, its complete and utter humiliation for the send downs so we better bring the A game here. My choice isn't based off any defence, the Send Downs can just go through us so we gotta go on foot with them bringing the top scorers.
C Evandrus Jesster 311 TPE This guy is already beating out plenty of send downs as it is, who wouldn't have this guy on the roster. Plus he is a sniper which is what I need to help out score the SHL send downs. He has 18 points but not the greatest faceoff rating but I doubt we can win faceoffs against the older Send downs RW Robb Wind 308 TPE Another Sniper and though he has not preformed the same way as Jesster has, he also has less time to get points unlike Jesster who is getting first line minutes. Desptie that he also is on the league leading St. Louis Scarecrows and he knows a thing or two about leadership LW Zach Hoover 221 TPE Finally a Playmaker and he was the best rookie early on into the season before quieting down recently, although there are better point getters in the list of send downs, Hoover has the role of playmaker feeding the puck to Jesster and Robb Wind. Hoover is one of the few bright spots on the team noted by Alternate Patrikov Bure LD Maria Maximova 225 TPE She is currently the best defencmen/girl in the S24 SMJHL draft and has a very good 14 points in 20 games. She can chip in offensivly and hopefully stop a few pucks in hopes of defeating the send downs RD Jasper Clayton 220 TPE Offensively gifted, Clayton can pass, shoot, and play defence as a truly offensive defencman. Jasper rounds out the very offensive core of snipers and playmakers. G Austin Lemieux 216 TPE <_< They aren't any other goalies that've played enough to even be recognized on the scoring chart but not that he wouldn't be my pick anyway, Austin is expected to go as the number 1 goalie in the S25 Draft as he splits time with Lee Bowden. He although has some questionable stats, he had a bad start and needs time to raise them up again. Those are my picks, now with only 5 players that I can choose from, I have to have some honorable mentions C:Mario Nyquist A sleeper agent last draft, Nyquist is one of the top players in the league right now with 16 points and likely would have been in a 2nd line role if there was one. Nyquist is more of a playmaker though and likely wouldn't have made the first line with his lower TPE RW: Tbh there isn't anyone besides Robb Wind or So I found, there are a few but I'm not going to list them as most are sub-par LW: Adam Falk 2nd in rookie scoring, Adam would be a nice replacement if Hoover does not get it down which I hope doesn't happen. However he is a two way forward and might not fit in a fully offensive group D: Matt Veentsra The one choice which I'm still not sure about, he could easily replace Jasper Clayton in case of well reasons. Matt is in a way a more balanced Jasper Clayton but in our group we need all offence not sub par everywhere John Matthews The leading point defenceman but I don't think he can produce against gritty veterans although if the going gets rough, I'll put him in there. G: none are listed :( Word Count: 636

When building a rookie team to try to take on the send down players, I looked for a few things specifically. First, I want players that can see the ice, and are smart with their passing. I want to keep the puck away from the send downs. Second, I want players that get more points than they allow while on the ice. Third, I want players who don’t take too many penalties. I don’t want to lose a game because we took a bad penalty. So, I looked for assist numbers, +/- rating, and low penalty minutes with a decent number of minutes played. I weighed other factors as well, but these were the first things I looked at.
C – Evandrus Jesster This is one of the easiest choices to make. In 20 games, Jesster has 18 points, 12 of which are assists. He is also a +5, which I really like to see. He also has only 10 total penalty minutes, while averaging more than 18 minutes per game. The only real fault he has is that he has only won 49% of his face offs, which isn’t great, but it’s a tradeoff I don’t mind making. LW – Mario Nyquist This pick requires a little bit more explanation. Nyquist is normally a center, however, right now he is being played at left wing. I also like having another player on the ice that can take face offs if necessary. With 20 games played, Nyquist has 6 goals and 10 assists. His +/- isn’t great, at a -1, but he takes very few penalties. He has just 6 total penalty minutes, averaging more than 18 minutes on the ice per game. Unfortunately, because he has been playing at left wing, he doesn’t have a large number of face offs taken so far, with just 27. Of those 27, he has won 59%, which is promising. RW – Michael Burch Burch has the most points of any of the rookies on a Detroit team that has scored a ton of points. He has 5 goals and 9 assists so far this season. He is a +8 so far this season, which is among the highest on the Falcons. Again, Burch is another player with low penalty minutes, only 2 so far. He is, however, played fewer minutes than the other forwards I’ve chosen, with an average of just under 12 minutes per game. He also has the highest shooting percentage of the three, sitting at 16.67%. D – Maria Maximova I would probably have put Maximova here if she had been one of the top 5 rookie defense. It turns out, I think she’s the best, so I didn’t have to make that compromise. 2 goals, 12 assists in 20 games. She is a -1, which isn’t ideal, but acceptable, given the Knights’ struggles this season. She has 17 penalty minutes on the season, with one major. She is one the ice an average of 17 minutes a game. Her physical play leaves a bit to be desired, but I think that her scoring potential makes up for it. D – John Matthews The highest scoring rookie on a team that also has Robb Wind? And he plays defense? I’ll take him. 3 goals, 13 assists. A +/- of +1. Only 4 penalty minutes, while averaging almost 20 minutes per game. He has the same knock that Maximova does, in that he isn’t a very physical player. G – Austin Lemieux Austin Lemieux is having a very respectable season as a rookie goaltender. 6-3-1 is a solid record. He does have a Falcons team in front of him that scores a lot of points, but he still holds his own in net. Lemieux has a save percentage of 0.863, and a goals against average of 3.26, neither of which are outstanding, but very acceptable from a rookie who still has time to develop. [639 words]

Well it's difficult to pick out of all the amazing players around the league and to find the TPE leaders and how well people are doing etc. I am doing this due to the way these guys have performed SO FAR this season and how I feel they would really make an impact in the rookie game.
C Evandrus Jesster :impact: 311 TPE Obviously everyone's favorite pick as a center, he is the TPE leader among rookies and as doing great this season with his point totals. Evandrus brings something to the table that no center rookie has (other then TPE) it's how experienced he is in this game and how he takes things. His 18 points that he has gotten is leading among all rookie skaters. This guy gets my pick. RW Robb Wind 308 TPE Robb Wind is second in TPE just three behind Evandrus Jesster for that top spot. Supposing to be a francaise player. He shows great skills as he leads the St.Louis to as so far a top leading run for the League Title as they're first as of right now. This guy has been solid, I see big things for him. He is a great leader on and off the ice. Robb Wind is my RW choice. LW Lord Pretty Flacko :impact: TPE: 230 Pretty Flacko is a threat come late into seasons. He can get those big bounces and those crucial minutes worth. He is one of the best LW's in the SMJHL. He is his owner player you could say as he has different styles and you never know what he is going to do. He is a great rookie on the Impact Roster and is fun to be around. My LW pick is non other then Lord Pretty Flacko. D Bastien Salabanzi TPE: 222 An equally sized defensemen with good weight. Imagine this guy coming at you for a check. You better be careful. Helping the offensively gifted Detroit Falcons, he likes to play defense and offense whenever he gets the chance. With decent numbers and a decent frame for a rookie. This guy leads Detroit Defense and is diffidently my 1st pick on defense. D Roman Merenov :impact: TPE: 195 Now I know some people question this pick yet, I like the guy. He is strong defensively and has great leadership back on defense. He is a tower (by my standards) at 6"4 and as the years come, this guy will become even more bigger, stronger and faster etc. Just like Bastien, can you imagine this guy skating after you waiting to lock you in to check you. It would hurt. My last Defensemen is Roman Merenov. G Austin Lemieux TPE: 216 One of the leading rookie goalies in TPE, this goalie puts up great numbers for his offensively gifted squad, the Detroit Falcons. With great size and not to heavy, Austin can move around the crease fast to mack those critical stops. Not every goalie is perfect. But I see this goalie being one of the greats somewhat like 44 (maybe). As his numbers continue to grow, his confidence back there grows even more. Who will be the lucky team to snag this gem of a goalie in the S25 SHL Draft? My goalie pick is Austin Lemieux. Words: 553 as tested by Word Counter.

Center-Evandrus Jesster: Montreal Impact
The player that would center the Rookies in the tournament would have to be Evandrus Jesster of the Montreal Impact. 2nd overall pick in the S24 SMJHL Draft, Jesster knows how to play hockey. He is the top TPE earner out of the Rookies and considers himself a sniper. In 20 games so far in the season, he has a total of 6 goals and 12 assists, for a total of 18 points. With a respectable +5, 10 Penalty Minutes, and an almost 50% Face Off percentage, Jesster is the obvious choice to center the Rookies. Right Wing-Robb Wind: St. Louis Scarecrows Who else to put in this position for the Rookie team than the first overall draft pick in the S24 SMJHL draft? Robb Wind is second overall TPE earner thus far for the rookies. In the 20 games so far, he has scored 6 times and added 8 assists for a total of 14 points. He is a highly disciplined player with 0 Penalty Minutes thus far. His only downside seems to be his plus/minus category where he is at -8. Also being a sniper, Wind and Jesster will surely light up the Send-Down goalie with a ton of shots. Left Wing- Zack Hoover: Vancouver Whalers With two snipers being the center and right wing, a playmaker would be ideal to place on the wing in this situation. Zack Hoover could be the winger that Jesster and Wind would need to take their game to the next level against the Send-Downs. With 7 goals and 8 assists on a very poor, struggling Vancouver Whalers team, Hoover knows what it takes to get points in the league. At a +3 and 6 Penalty Minutes, Hoover would be able to help the Rookies succeed over the Send-Downs. Left D- Jasper Clayton: Detroit Falcons Playing Left Defense for the Rookies would be Jasper Clayton. Drafted 8th overall by the Detroit Falcons, Clayton knows what it takes to win hockey games. He has scored 2 goals (one of which was a GWG) and put up 10 assists for a total of 12 points through 20 games. A disciplined and offensive defenseman, Clayton will help dish out passes to the forwards while also keeping the puck out of the net for the Rookie team. Right D-John Matthews: St. Louis Scarecrows John Matthews would be my choice for playing Right Defense for the Rookies. He has surprised many and could be considered one of the best steals of the draft. Through 20 games, he has put up 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists) while remaining at a +1. Along with Clayton, the blue line is stacked for the Rookies. Goalie-Austin Lemieux: Detroit Falcons Austin Lemieux is the only obvious choice for manning the net for the Rookie squad. The best ranked and rated goalie in the S24 SMJHL, Lemieux has kept pucks out of the net and has been fantastic for the Falcons. With 11 games starting in net, Lemieux has 6 wins, 3 losses, and 1 overtime loss. With a 3.26 Goals Against Average, and .863 Save Percentage, Lemieux is the lock for the starting goalie Rookies. Center- Evandrus Jesster, Montreal Impact
The Captain of the Impact can take a big role on the Rookies team by providing his leadership and experience. He is currently leading all rookies with 18 points through 20 games, which makes him an obvious choice as the #1 centre for the team. He also has the most TPE amongst all rookies, so this dedication is yet another reason to choose Jesster. Left Wing- Zack Hoover, Vancouver Whalers The 4th overall pick in the past SMJHL draft would be a perfect choice for the 1st line winger. Hoover has put up 15 points through 20 games so far, good enough for 5th amongst all rookies. He is a playmaker, so he can be used to set up other snipers on the team like Wind and Jesster with his superb passing ability. He is also noted for being a great locker room guy, which is another benefit for choosing Hoover. Right Wing- Robb Wind, St Louis Scarecrows Wind struggled to start the season, but has been turning up his point production in recent games, and is currently sitting at 14 points though 20 games. He can bring this momentum onto the prospect team. He is a sniper who has an uncanny ability to score big time goals, so this will be a huge asset on the team. He is another captain which will be on the team, so he will also be a source of leadership and motivation for the other players. Defense- John Matthews, St Louis Scarecrows Matthews has put 16 points up so far this season, which makes him the highest scoring rookie on his team, and the highest scoring defensive rookie in the league. This scoring ability would be vital to have on the team, having a cannon from the point and a quarterback for the powerplay. He has been playing big minutes for the Scarecrows, so he can be confidently put into a top-2 role for the prospect team Along with his scoring ability, he is a beast in his own end. The only knock against him is that he isn’t a very physical player. Defense- Bastien Salabanzi, Detroit Falcons In order to balance out the lack of physicality from Matthews, Salabanzi would be a great choice to have as a defensive partner for him. He is a guy who seems to be able to eat an endless amount of minutes out there, along with being a very strong skater while having the ability to lay out huge checks. He is also very responsible in his own end, which is obviously great to have as a defenseman. Goalie- Austin Lemieux, Detroit Falcons The choice for goalie is pretty clear cut, with Lemieux being far and away the best goaltender coming out of the S24 SMJHL draft. He has been splitting starting time for the Falcons, so he has had experience with the shooters that he will be facing on the Send Downs team. He has put up a 6-3-1 record, along with a save percentage of 0.863% and a GAA of 3.26, which are respectable numbers for a rookie goaltender in this league. He is known to be great in the locker room, so this would be good to have on the team. (543 Words)

Left Wing: Zach Hoover - Vancouver Whalers
There are few positive things to say about Vancouver's regular season performance, but when you see this rookie play you'll forget all about their struggles. Zach Hoover has put up great numbers from the wing all season, despite a struggling team playing around him. Until recently he was leading all rookies in points, and though he's no longer alone at the top he's still far and away one of the best rookie forwards this season. On an all-star team such as this one, his point production is likely to explode. Center: Evandrus Jesster - Montreal Impact The number two pick in the SMJHL draft has quickly become the consensus best player to come out of that draft. He's been more of a playmaker, putting up six goals and twelve assists for eighteen points on the season, which is perfect for this team. Having players who can think three passes ahead and set up their teammates for goals is just as important as having the guys who put them away, and Jesster is able to do both. He'll really shine alongside Zach Hoover. Right Wing: Robb Wind - St. Louis Scarecrows I'm slightly on the fence about this pick, but I think it's a good one. Wind was taken first overall by the Scarecrows in the SMJHL draft, but didn't get off to the start that many expected to see. His play has greatly improved as of late, and he's picked up six goals and eight assists for fourteen points on the season. With any luck this play will continue into the rookies vs send-downs game, and the rookies will get a huge offensive boost from his play. Defense: Maria Maximova - Kelowna Knights Maximova has been the best rookie defensewoman all season. Her two way game has worked wonders, as she's been able to keep pucks out of her net and in the opponent's net. She's lethal both when she shoots the puck, as she's shown with her two goals on the year, but she can also see when her teammates are in position to score, as she's demonstrated with her twelve assists this season. She'll be perfect alongside Hoover-Jesster-Wind, dishing them the puck so they can put it away. Defense: Jasper Clayton - Detroit Falcons Totally not biased. I'd put Clayton alongside Maximova because the two would feed really well off of each other. Both tend to think pass-first, but have demonstrated that their shots are just as lethal as anyone else's. Clayton has two goals and ten assists this year, and alongside Maximova you can expect those numbers to show up in a send-downs versus rookies game. Goaltender: Austin Lemieux - Detroit Falcons Is there really anyone else to pick? The Falcons' success this season has been in no small part due to the performance of their goaltending tandem of Lemieux-Bowden. Lemieux has posted a .863 save percentage with a 3.26 goals against average, and is yet to allow a penalty shot. With Lemieux in goal, it'll be hard for the send downs to see any point production. C Evandrus Jesster :impact:
Well, no surprise here. Jesster started off his rookie season pretty hot and then tailed off a little bit for about 4-6 games. Recently, his production has picked up again and we're once again seeing why he was chosen as second overall in the recent draft. His production has launched him to a safe lead in rookie scoring, and only 8 points behind the overall league leader in points. His high-octane offense would easily drive the rookie squad into a fierce battle with seasoned players; an easy choice for the center position. RW Robb Wind Everytime you hear Jesster, there's no doubt that Wind comes to your mind as well. The previous 1st overall SMJHL draft pick, and consensus 2nd overall pick in the upcoming SHL draft has gotten off to a bit of a ho-hum start this season, hovering in the middle to the top of the pack in rookie scoring. But it's not his offensive numbers that he brings to the table, but a complimentary style of finesse and locker room authority. His Scarecrows lead the league with a commanding 14-4-2 record in the midst of a heavily stacked Eastern Conference. Wind is a complete player from top to bottom, and placed alongside Jesster, would yield incredible results. LW Zach Hoover Here's where things get a little hairy, but for the better. While this draft class was the deepest in years, the LW position is possibly the deepest of all positions. Hoover, Falk, Flacko, Nyquist... all could be named to the all-rookie squad, but Hoover takes the cake here. Since the start of the season Hoover has been right at the top of rookie scoring, and has single handedly carried a rather disappointing Vancouver team. As a lone bright spot for the Whalers, Hoover was the 4th overall pick this previous draft and hasn't disappointed. His positive play and lack of penalty minutes is a style compatible with his would-be linemates in Jesster & Wind. This is a line you could put up against almost any line in the SHL. D Maria Maximova It's rare to find a female defender in the pro leagues, but that hasn't stopped Maria from being a dominant force. In hindsight, it's a wonder how Maximova fell through the hands of so many teams at the draft. While she won't astound you on the scoresheet, her ability to conquer the defensive end and be the first one back on offense is something to behold. In what's turning out to be an all-offense minded rookie team, Maria is the perfect fit for top defender. D Jasper Clayton As if the Falcons weren't good enough already, they nabbed a future star early in the second round. A big strong body on the puck, Clayton is a disciplined, corn-fed, what-you'd-expect type of defender. If the other team plans on shifting to an all out attack, it's probably not when Jasper is on the ice. He maintains a + rating with Detroit and has 12 points through 20 games this season, with no signs of slowing down. A solid player on any team. G Austin Lemieux While the goaltender position might not have been stacked this previous draft, the Falcons once again made a fantastic late round choice. Leading up to this season, Corey Holtby was the most sought-after tender, but was quickly dethroned. Austin has posted a respectable 3.26 GAA and .863 save percentage through 11 games, in which he's gone 6-3-1. Not bad at all, considering he plays in the lethal Eastern Conference. Easy choice for the rookie's starter. Words:597

C Evandrus Jesster :impact:
This is the least complicated decision of the picks, and we start off with Evandrus Jesster. Jesster is doing it all for his team and has been doing really well this season. He’s third among centers for points, including the send downs as he stands 6-12-18 in 20 games played. It’s hard to find a point-per-game player, and even harder to find that quality in a rookie. He’s also a +5 and only has 10 penalty minutes, something every coach and GM wish they had on their team. RW Robb Wind Wind is doing what it takes to help out the Scarecrows, and is sitting at 6-8-14 for his scoring stats for the year. He’s had a lot of time to grow, and is competing with the rest of the rookies and vets on his team to put up points. He’s a little weak on the back-end being a -8, but makes up for that by having zero penalty minutes so far through twenty games. Despite playing first line minutes, Wind is keeping his head about him and playing smart hockey. LW Adam Falk :impact: Falk is another amazing player, tallying eight goals, nine assists and seventeen points in twenty games. Although he is out there for a lot of points, he’s a -1, but this is normal for any top six player. He has an impressive 20% shooting percentage and is a solid winger to go along with Wind and Jesster. D Maria Maximova Maximova is a hell of a player, that has given her team a lot of spark with her 12 assists. She’s constantly getting the puck in front of the net and giving her teammates a chance to put it in. She is definitely an offensive focused player, being a -1 through 20 games played. She’s not the most physical person on the ice, but gets the job done. D John Matthews Matthews is an offensive powerhouse on the back end, and like Maximova, is setting his team up to score goals. Matthews has thirteen assists to his three goals, and is a plus-1 to help out his team. He’s also learned to stay out of the penalty box, racking up only four penalty minutes so far this season. Another player that isn’t focused on hitting, but taking way the puck and creating chances. G Austin Lemieux I said it before the draft, and it still stands now. Lemmy is going to be the goalie of the future. He’s the best goalie out of the rookie draft class, and stands on his head night in and night out. He’s gone 6-3-1 in the 10 games he’s split, and has put up a .863 save percentage. His goals against average looks ugly at 3.26, but he’s on par with everyone but Earnest Ciarelli, Kyle Prunce and Sergei Kozar. He’s a rookie goalie playing like a SHL send-down. He’s doing well for himself and will continue his success with more playing time. (508 words) Update Page | | | Player Page

C - Adam Falk :impact:
A surprise pick, to many maybe but it shouldn't be. Adam Falk is the highlight story of the SMJHL season for Montreal. A team desperately thin in the center position, Falk agreed to the inside. The LW to Center convert is making splashes in the SMJHL ever since. His work ethic and team attitude sets him apart from many around him and I think he embodies the characteristics that I feel should associated with the All-Rookie Team. While everyone has been distracted by the big names of Jesster, Wind and Hoover, Falk has been quietly showing this league up. Currently the rookie goal leader with 8, placing him second in scoring of all rookies, Falk has been an adrenaline shot for the Impact offense. This guy has a complete game, my choice for center. RW - Robb Wind The first overall SMJHL pick had a slow start, but it really wasn't bad at all. Wind plays on a team that affords him the time and opportunity to grow behind a strong group of veteran forwards. Not many top 3 picks in a draft can say that, as we see in Montreal as they rely on Jesster to produce in order to have consistent scoring. Wind is a guy who gets better and does it quickly. He has worked on his two way game a lot since training camp and if he can work on fixing his +/- Wind is the perfect SMJHL rookie winger. LW - Zack Hoover The biggest first round surprise pick Hoover has proven he was worth the selection. One of the best rookies defensively to come out of the first round Hoover has translated his game completely in the SMJHL. Already tallying 15 points in his first 20 games, he sits in the top 10 of rookie scoring leaders and continues to build on his success from preseason. Although the Whalers as a team have struggled since, Hoover is one of the brightest spots in that city. D - John Matthews A Two-Way defensemen who has already found his groove on the offensive end of the ice, Matthews is an easy choice to front an all-rookie defensive pairing. This guy is reliable in his own end, with a +1 rating, he is improving every game to be more dependable back there. He helps solidify a backbone on a winning team, his impact for the Crows is huge. To have a guy come in and be the top scoring rookie on a team with Robb Wind, that is impressive. D - Maria Maximova A perfect pick to go along side Matthews is Maximova. One of the most potent offensive defensemen rookies in the league. Maximova is a smooth passing, quick, and decisive defensemen and has been showing how consistent her game is. There is a respectable toughness to her game as well, tallying 15 hits in her 20 games, she hasn't been shy to throw the body. G - Austin Lemieux Lemieux is a guy that showed promise during the prospect showcase in the offseason and his game has translated. He leads rookie goalies in TPE and has been a reliable asset to Bowden in Detroit. Sitting at a 6-3-1 record he has the chance to split time and pick his battles in his rookie season. GM Mook has Lemieux is a perfect scenario and Lemieux is showing SHL GMs who might be looking to the future of their goaltending situation that he can be an answer. The I'm sorry Jala but not buying this premise. It's a killing waiting to happen..And I know Killing..
Send downs on average run around 320 TPE. A TRUE ROOKIE is a realitive noob and averages not more than 215TPE... ( no offense to Jesster or Wind. but neither in my mind should be considered ...a 'rook' ) I would suggest a Better Idea where the GM's for the two teams leading their division/conferences have to pick a combination of rookies and send downs for their 'ALL-SMJHL' teams. Conferences wouldn't matter all players would be thrown into a the 'hat' and the two teams would have to pick an equal number of both (Rooks and Sends). The monkey wrench in this game would be that each line of these teams would have to include a minimum of one rookie. The same for defensive pairing so there would always be two 'rooks' on the ice at all times. But enough of a Better Idea... Ok, if you admit defeat and simple go with the top TPE Earners (Whore Game) It's... C-Evandrus Jesster :impact: Jesster is running at 311 TPE currently. He's been at this for many seasons and seriously knows how to build a player and a team . Stats for Jesster at this 20 game point are..6 goals , 12 assists for 18 pts and a healthy +5....he's awesome. I can't even hate him. LW-Lord Pretty Flacko :impact: He's got currently 230TPE. Flacko is hopefully stepping up his game. I don't follow 'Treal that much so based solely on stats for 20 games, 4 goals , 6 assists for a decent 10 pts and a-4 He needs to step up. I'm not a fan of the name ...but, at least he hasn't announced he's changing it to Pizda ti jopoglazaya ...hate this BS Russian trend. RW-Robb Wind The #1 overall pick in the S24 SMJHL draft ..running currently at 308 TPE. He's started slowly and as the updates got included has found his scoring touch with his current stats being 6 goals , 8 assists for 14 pts. Most of this coming in the last 4 games. Robb is pushing a -8 so some improvement on the defensive side is called for. D-John Matthews My one exception in the WHORE GAME lineup.. PhiltheThrill has built a great all round defenseman. And I'm glad that BBP and Cuffy were able to get him in the 4th round. ..I break from the TPE bonus baby list as Matthews is running at a rookie average of 208TPE. Matthews is skating with Pal Vikingstod on the 'Crows 1st D pairing and averaging 20 minutes a game. Stats for Matthews are 3 goals,13 assists for 16 pts and still a +1. D-Maria Maximova Maximova is benefitting from skating alongside the recently acquired Stacker Pentecost on the 2nd D pairing and on the PP for the Knights. She plays with an edge an has 17+ PIMs to go along with her 2 goals and 12 assists for 14 pts. She's currently running at 225 TPE. ** A tip when you play against her...catch her eye during a face off and mouth the following..Kooshay govno sooka If this were to SHOWCASE deserving underrated talent then my choices would be different..At least for the forwards. C-Adam Falk :impact: The second line center for the Imoact is my choice for a talent deserving of showcasing. Stats 8goals,9assists for 17 pts. LW-Zach Hoover Zach is deserving of having his name here in this showcase great player, seems like great guy, playing 1st line minutes and PP with the one and only McZ..you face kicking bastard. Stats 7 goals, 8 assists for 15 pts and a healthy +3 RW-Mario Nyquist I second the nomination by Rich701, Nyquist normally a center is playing LW in sticksharing PG. I think he's versatile enough to fill this roll so for the purpose of showcasing I move him to RW. Stats 6 goals 10 assists for 16 pts and a-1. Whether you run this as a TPE WHORE GAME or a TRUE SHOWCASE There is really only one choice in goal. I must grudgingly concede that fact... <_< This is painfully annoying. G-Austin Lemieux The only rookie getting significant time and results in goal..Lemmmmmiiieeuuuxxx. ( you say it like Seinfeld says "Newman") He's a great competitor and a pompous ass ...the perfect goalie. Besides WHEN he gets lit up and shell shocked it'll make the simple task of crushing the Falcons just that much better. Notice I didn't include John Wick ...gawdthatsux... BANG..MF'r!

This is what you call class. On the other hand, we have Ghostspeed... about whom the less is said the better. <_< |
