its not though and last year is different, Eichel wasn't anything close to Mcdavid, but Laine is close to Matthews. and i would say theres a good chance Edmonton would pass on Matthews for Laine.

Then that is a team putting to much stock in a 2 week tournament and not an entire season. Laine has done nothing to push past Matthews and there is nothing to suggest anybody other then you actually think that....Laine will be a great pick for someone at 2 or 3 though.

Edmonton would be more likely to trade down to take Chychrun than to take Matthews or Laine.

Laines size and shot didnt just automatically appear in the past 2 weeks though. Laine has done an incredible amount to push past matthews. he'll be a great #1 overall as well.
