Habs Off-season additions

Muscle! Finally!

I love the addition of Brandon Prust. Great physical player, good on the PK and really gives 100%

Armstrong is a nice pick up too.

Imagine a Prust -Armstong - Moen line! lol

Francis Bouillon is back, prety kool to have an oldie back. However i wonder if hes gonna even crack the line-up.

I love all the signings so far, I wanted Prust but never thought he would come to Montreal, Armstrong is gonna be great for what we paid and Bouillon will be at least a fringe player.
I think a line of Prust will also help turn Ryan White into an even better tough 3rd/4th line player.

NOw we just need another winger who can create some offense.

Pacioretty in for a big season?

This is a perfect example of adding to your bottom 6 to improve your top 6. As you guys know, Plekanec spent a bunch of time playing defensive minutes, which, in all likelihood, made his offensive production suffer a bit. Guys like Brandon Prust, who is one of the better penalty killers in the league, will be able to lighten Plekanec's defensive workload.

Some numbers I saw on HFBoards: Prust spent somewhere around 130 minutes on the PK. Guys like Eller and Moen spent a similar amount of time. Tomas Plekanec? 260+ minutes on the PK.

I think Pacioretty, Cole and Deharnais are all in for a big year, I would be nice to get another big winger and trade away Bourque to even out of top 6. Right now it looks like this.

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole
Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta
Moen-Eller-Armstrong
Prust-Noke-White

That is only 3 players under 6' too.

Speaking of adding a winger... Dreger tweeted that Jagr would love to play in Montreal (tweeted that twice), but some teams say he wants upwards of 4M. I'd pay him that, just cuz it's Jaromir freakin' Jagr.

I would easily pay him that, Him and Plekanec already have some chemistry together playing in world tournaments.

It is pretty much a coin toss right now for Jagr between Edmonton and Montreal. Plekanec has talked to Jagr and may tip the scales in Montreal's favor

Id like to get Jagr Semin Parise or Doan for sure.

I think we have the best shot with Jagr over the other 3. Parise if like 99% no, Semin will prolly stay in Washington or get over-paied by a Detroit like team that wants to win, and Doan im not sure if he`ll leave Phoenix.

Id definatly like to see

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole
Jagr-Plekanec-Gionta
Bourque - Eller-Prust
Armstrong - White - Moen

Great bottom 6, but I still don't like the top 6 aside from the 1st line.
