New England Wolfpack Announcement

![]() Registered S30, S31 and S33 Challenge Cup Champion and Wonderbolt ![]() Wolfpack GM Rainbow Dash speaks to the media Toronto, Ontario While the players were busy on the ice trying to win the round two playoff series against the Toronto North Stars it was anything but business as usual for the management team in New England. When a press conference was called for 8 PM EST just two hours in advance, reporters scrambled to change their plans so they could be at the arena early enough to hear whatever it was GM Rainbow Dash would have to say. Once she stepped to the podium, her, shall we say, interesting demeanor led the gathered crowd to realize this press conference wasn’t just to talk about the current playoff results or the status of the team’s coaching staff. The press conference went as follows: “Thank you everyone for coming out on such short notice. I know you’re all busy covering the various playoff series both around the league as well as down in the SMJHL with the second round in full swing at both levels of our professional hockey world. With that in mind I’ll keep this short. “The past 4 seasons at the helm of the New England Wolfpack have been absolutely amazing. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be. We’ve got such a great group of people here who really make being on the SHL an amazing experience and I’ve loved getting to know each and every one of them. “In three seasons together, lil and I accomplished so much. Together we won a president’s trophy, GM of the year, coach of the year, and two Challenge Cups. But in that third season, lil’s work began to take a toll on her availability. She was around less and less as she was forced to take care of things in real life over spending time with the Wolfpack. “At the last draft she finally came back to help me with making picks, and to tell me she would not be returning for a fourth season as co-GM. “It was really disappointing to lose the co-GM I had spent the past three seasons with, especially since I’d never even considered that she might be planning on stepping down. Even though she was away, I’d always assumed she planned on coming back. As it turned out, that wasn’t the case. “Luckily we have a lot of great people on New England, and they made running the team solo this past season more like running the team as, well, a team. “That being said, at this point in time I find it important to bring in someone to officially serve as the team’s co-general manager. While there are so many great people on New England who could easily fill this position because of skilled they are at what they do, there was one person who stuck out in my mind as the best choice to co-GM the Wolfpack with me. “It’s funny how things happen. Back before the S31 SHL draft I went through every single defender and went back to lil with a list of every single defender ranked. I messaged every person at the top of that list, and after getting responses I told lil there was one guy who was absolutely perfect. He was going to be the newest member of the New England Wolfpack if we had our way. As it turned out, everyone else slept on him and we got our man. “Today, replacing lil, it’s almost as if we’ve come full circle. We were sure that he would be the future of the New England Wolfpack, but little did we know how true that was. “Following great performances as a GM or co-GM in at least three different sim leagues including leading the Halifax Raiders to a President’s Trophy as their co-GM this past season, I am proud to announce that the newest co-GM of the New England Wolfpack will be none other than our very own Toivo Kosonen!” With that the press conference gave way to questions and clamoring amongst the crowd gathered there, including one very loud voice complaining about a GM job going to another post S30 member.
I’d like to formally congratulate Toivo on his new position with the Wolfpack, I very much look forward to working with you closely over the seasons to come! If anyone has any questions for me I’ll open up the floor. If you have any questions for Toivo, I believe he’s going to be holding his own press conference so you should save those questions for that thread. Also sorry kit but he’s definitely more than qualified for this job.
