Game Synopsis

Welcome to the Post game show between the Kelowna Knights and the Halifax Raiders. The Raiders are off to an abysmal start with only 4 wins in 18 games and are currently tied in a 1:1 series against the Knights. On the contrary, the Knights are in the mid pack with 9 wins in 18 games. Game 74 was thus the deciding match between the two in their series which is currently tied. It was a well fought out match to say the least. The game began slow with both teams testing each other with shots but it was near the end where Langabeer of the Knights would give his team the lead. This didnâ€™t last long as Boyka Jr. was able to bring his team back on track. The second period was quiet and it was only in the 3rd period where Groganâ€™s powerplay goal would become the deciding factor to bring the Raiders to victory. This led them the big crown at the end of the match which allowed them to chug a pint of cold beer.
3 Stars
First Star :Jordin FourFour Jr.
Without a doubt, Jordin FourFour Jr was the best player on the ice and well deserved this placement. He is the only reason why the Raiders were able to keep the game on their own pace as he only let in 1 goal out of the 30 shots taken at him. This gives him an astonishing save percentage of 97% for the match.

2nd Star: John Langabeer
Although the Knights lost, Langabeer was given the title of 2nd star of the match. The reason is very simple. Langabeer was the only positive player on the team and also took a whopping 6 shot on FourFour Jr. He also won more than 50% of his faceoff draws.
3rd Star: Yuri Boyka Jr.
Yuri Boyka Jr also earns his spot as the 3rd star of the match. He was able to net in the first goal for the Raiders, which also marks his seventh goal for the season so far. He also had 2 hits for the match and almost won 50% of his faceoffs. A lot is expected of this rookie and if he continues at his current pace he may even lead the rookies in points.
Unsung Hero
The unsung hero of the match is without a doubt, Trucker Grogan. Although he was responsible for three penalties in the game, he is ultimately the person who landed the Raiders the victory with his game winning goal.

Welcome readers to another exciting edition of Gatorade Fuel's Workhorse of the Game, taking a closer look at the world's most exciting sport and seeing who made an impact on their team away from just putting the puck in the net. This game's workhorse was will be awarded to two players, Dwayne Wyder and Mike Izzy, let's take a better look at why. On the Halifax front, Dwayne pitched in with 5 booming shots, and while none resulted in a goal, his consistent offensive pressure was a big reason the Raiders squeaked by with their 2-1 victory. On top of this, he finished with one hit and 21:16 in minutes played, a shining example of Halifax's young core stepping into big roles and really filling them well. In Kelowna's corner, you can't get much better than Izzy's 6 shots and 4 hits, and one face off win when he was called upon. Izzy was a wrecking ball, but also did everything he could to get Kelowna back in it, and despite no goals, you could see his compete level from a mile away. Izzy also finished second among all skaters in ice time, playing huge PP and PK minutes as well. Great job boys, keep up the hard work and we'll see you at the next Workhorse of the Game!

Punching Bag Of The Game
Mike Izzy

Izzy just couldn't keep his stick on the puck tonight. The Raiders continually sent him flying to the ice. Bar Downski, Trucker Grogan, and Yuri Boyka Jr. all laid Izzy out tonight, while Mike lost the puck twice. Leaving the game, Mike Izzy looked like he just visited a dental office in Arkansaw, while also sporting an eye the color of a very expensive velvet suit the Artist Formerly Known as Prince would have worn.

Most Invisible Player Of The Game

Today's Glass Windowpane of the game goes to Eddie Andrezjeck of the Kelowna Knights! Andrezjeck is Kelowna's top-pair (and fourth pair! Wink

Offensive D-man, and a player that eats minutes for breakfast. He logged 24:18 in tonight's game, with 5:06 of that coming on the powerplay. On offense, he put up a 0-0-0 statline, like much of the rest of his team. His 0 goals on 2 shots comes out to a 0.00%, and he had nothing to show for 5:06 on the powerplay. On the defensive side, Andrezjeck had the second worst plus/minus on the team, and lacked a hit or a shot block. He additionally iced the puck three times in a close game.

For eating minutes with nothing to show like empty calories, Eddie Andrezjeck has been awarded this gorgeous windowpane:

Trucker Grogan</div>

He may not have played a physical game today, but anytime you sacrifice your body in front of a puck, you show your dedication to protecting the net. Grogan threw himself of 3 shots tonight and even punished himself further by laying out a Knight. A hard 20 minutes of icetime didn't go unrewarded as the Raiders pulled out the victory, with Grogan himself scoring the game winner. Again, defense goes unrewarded in the Stars of the Game column, but there is no other deserving player of the DPotG.

The Golden Crossbar of The Game is awarded to the player with the most shots without scoring a goal. Any ties disqualify all players involved. The winners/poor souls are a diverse bunch, ranging from SMJHL greats to busts, but they all have one thing in common: they are notorious for not being able to buy a goal.

The Izzy brand isn't enough to stop the occasional flop as Mike finds out the hard way. After six shots Izzy still couldn't find the back of the net, but was awarded the Gatorade Fuel's Workhorse of the Game for his efforts and his four hits that no doubt were brought forward out of frustration at that point and his hits recieved earned him the Punching Bag Of The Game. He played nearly five minutes on the powerplay but also accumulated some PIM himself. In the end, the un-stoppable (or whatever the opposite of that is) Raiders took a one-goal win.

Tonight's STX Dominator is none other than the Raiders' star netminder, Jordin FourFour! Playing the full 60 minutes, FourFour blocked a whopping 29 out of 30 shots, leading his team to victory. He faced a tough Kelowna offense, who dominated most of the game and parroting 5 more shots than Halifax. He also stayed tough on the four PP opportunities for Kelowna. All of this in one game is why we've decided to award Jordin FourFour the title of STX Dominator!
