I mean, not last.

Also upon further reflection Vasicek should be on my list somewhere but this will be sorted out at a time when I'm not watching F1 at 1:30 in the goddamn morning.

I was born in 99' so I only have really watched players from this generation. Also I hate most players that do not play for the Jets.

1. Chris Thorburn

He's a beast on and off the ice. #1 and it's not even close.

2. Adam Pardy

He's a Winnipeg Jets legend in my mind, the whole city went crazy when he used his signature "Pardy Dangle" at the blueline to dance through the ducks and score a wraparound back in the 2015 playoffs. He has his own fan page on reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/PardyParty/

Also this happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XClSicCjjbE <object width="460" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XClSicCjjbE"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XClSicCjjbE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="460" height="315"></embed></object>

3. Sidney Crosby

First non Jet on my list, will always remember him scoring the golden goal back in 2010, and is the best player of this generation in my mind.

4. Patrice Bergeron

Big fan of his game.

5. Mark Scheifele

First pick in Jets 2.0 history, first line center, first Jets 2.0 player to score 82+, etc.

6. Matt Hendricks

One of the best glue guys in the league, he's the difference that made Edmonton crumble from a contender into a basement team. He also rode his stick around the ice when he had first star earlier this year!

7. Josh Morrissey

One of the slickest, smoothest, and handsome defensemen in the league. <3

8. Patrik Laine

He's pretty good at scoring goals I guess

9. Anthony Peluso

One of the toughest guys around, and actually has very soft hands in tight.

10. Ben Chiarot

Chiarot has an absolute bomb, plays with a meanstreak, and is just a machine out there.

Don't see that name a lot on these type of lists

for me (in no real order):

1) Mario Lemieux - He's the best forward to play the game in my mind.
2) Daniel Alfredsson - Don't know if he'll make the HOF, but as a Sens fan this guy gave me more memories than I could count.
3) Erik Karlsson - When I'm old, Erik Karlsson will be the player I talk endlessly about.
4) Steve Yzerman - Maybe the best captain in NHL history, the guy led by example.
5) Ron Hextall - My favourite personality of any goalie, and he has a pretty great resume.
6) Alexander Ovechkin - This spot used to belong to Mike Bossy, but I think Ovi has cemented himself as the best goal scorer in NHL history.
7) Brent Burns - I'm a sucker for a good personality, especially when they are great players. They stand out among the sea of boring NHL players.
8) Pavol Demitra - He is the first player I can remember being a fan of. When I was a kid and he played for the PEI Senators, he was my favourite.
9) Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne - These two were made for each other, and I just had to list them together. Kariya is that player for me who had their career cut short, and Selanne was the first player to retire that really made me emotional.
10) Bobby Ryan - This one is mostly personal, cause I can relate to a lot of shit he went through as a kid, but on a hockey level I've always been a fan. When the Sens acquired him I was happy to know I didn't have to trade for him in NHL GM mode anymore lol.

Naslund, Bertuzzi, and Morrison were the reason I started getting into hockey a lot. I was around 7 or 8 at the time of the West Coast Express. Bert woulda been higher if it weren’t for the Moore incident.

No, I seriously believe he thinks Sundin > Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux. Classic Toronto hosers.

I mean, real talk

There are two kinds of "greatest ever" lists or ways to look at players and evaluate their skill.

1. Relative to their competition at the time. This is the list that Orr and Gretzky dominate as they were a cut above most, if not all, at their respective times.

This list is more often taken as fact and less opinionated, as it can be derived from stats quite accurately.

2. Solely as an evaluation of their skills. In short, I think it's safe to say that all the best players to have ever played in the league are playing now or have played recently, due to the fact that the game has evolved so much. For instance, if Orr and Gretzky played in today's league, I highly doubt they'd be noticeable as stars, perhaps, and this is only optimistically, as strong second liners.

This list is the opposite of the above, it is mostly based on opinion and observation.
