I apologize if I came off that way, I didn't mean to talk down to you if I did, I just felt what'a point without a counter-point, for the sake of discussion. Ultimately, while I don't agree with the main view points you brought up here, I feel like there's better points to be put afford in the inefficiency of democratic decision-making organ without full, or near-full participation, and thus, I feel a change is necessary, and if most Federation Heads do not want reform and instead prefer the previous system of decision-making, than so be it, I believe it to be more productive in this scenario (as in who we have in the HO) anyway.

I had decided how I wanted the league the work with the implementation of the democratic system, and in a perfect world of fully-involved Federation Heads (not saying you or any heads lack enthusiasm, just votes have been hard to come by) this system would be preferable to any autocratic system., in my opinion.

You say you had a problem with me putting the issue to vote, well my biggest problem when I was involved in the SMJHL and IIHF HOs is that I was always felt the most vocal arguments weren't always the most represented, so who am I to decide off of your, and a few others, agreement that the voting wasn't working and take that as an indication of the desires of all involved?

I thought you were great in the discussion that was held in the IIHF HO discord. You provided points without over-emotional delivery that rung true, and counter-points were provided that also rung true, this does not mean your original points are now forfeit.

As for your PM, I wasn't quite sure how to handle the decision. You're mention of stepping down earlier in the discussion came across as an intent if we were to keep voting, as in after the decision on voting was made, so it came across as a shock when you announced that you were resigning. I don't know what normal policy is, nor did I want to kick you out of the discord and LR immediately, as I felt that could be misinterpreted as hostility, so I asked you if you'd like Nour to take over to look for confirmation that you were indeed intending on resigning, and later I realized you left the discord so I messaged asking if you'd like the LR removed as well, taking this as more of a respectful bowing out.

You handled everything with no confrontations and was a great advocate for discussion, I must say this post shocked me once more.

I just donâ€™t see how throwing people under the bus helps anyone, especially if youâ€™ve already made the decision to step down. I get being passionate about something and wanting what you think is best for each league, just donâ€™t think this media post really accomplishes much. Just not my style I guess.

What is your style? What specifically would you have done differently? I mean Iâ€™m legitimately curious if you would just ya know keep your mouth shut and never bring the leagues attention to a glaring issue and watch the IIHF continue to become less and less relevant. So please explain what specifically teddy did so wrong here? He didnâ€™t personally attack anyone he just said he didnâ€™t agree with the style.

I think the backlash Teddy is getting here is a bit unfounded if you ask me. I do not think he meant for anything here to embarrass the IIHF or to throw Arty under the buss. Teddy has not once ever struck me as the type of person to do those things to anyone.

The dude wasn't happy with his job so he stepped down. I'm sure a bunch of people would have asked him why he did that so instead of answering 100 questions he just made 1 thread explaining his reasoning. He was unhappy, it doesn't seem like there is anything personal or otherwise going on here.

You cant really blame the guy for being frustrated with something and then leaving, whatever his reasoning is. Its just that in this case I feel like his frustrations are realized by several people and it is not something that is isolated to just him. Hearing that the new IIHF democratic system is finding it difficult to get votes partially proves that.

Its not like Teddy is publicizing personal beef to try and gather sympathy from the community. It seems like he has serious issues with how the IIHF is being run and his resignation is him sending a message as such.

My style would be to speak privately with whoever was in charge, which Teddy did but I personally wouldnâ€™t have made the media post. If you think that itâ€™s the commisoners goal to see the IIHF become less and less relevant, then give your head a shake, thatâ€™s a ridiculous statement.

I never said Teddy did anything wrong, I said I was disappointed in the way he presented it and that it was not my style. If he wants to write a media post thatâ€™s his choice and I donâ€™t hold it against him, but also donâ€™t expect the people this is directed at to not let their opinions on the matter be heard as well. Also while he didnâ€™t â€œpersonallyâ€ attack anyone, itâ€™s very clearly directed at three people, the commissioners.
