SHLSucks.Wordpress.Com - The Master Plan
#1

Hello and welcome back to the SHL Sucks Report. I’ve got a very important post today, and let me tell you, it is a doozy regarding the latest news in the SHL. In case you’ve been under a rock, there was a huge drama this week at the SHL Draft regarding Matej Elias where the New England Wolfpack drafted him even though he was already affiliated with Alexander Santos’s agency. Lots of people have been debating this on the internet, going back and forth on whether or not Santos should have drafted Elias sooner or it was a dick move by New England’s player-GM Toivo Kosonen. Well I’m here to tell you people, New England wants you to argue about this, because it covers up what’s really happening here. This is the final product of a scheme 12 seasons in the making folks.

So let’s go back to Season 30, which feels like a long time ago because it was. That season an unbelievably large number of prospects filed for the SMJHL Entry Draft. 93 players were selected in that draft with some of them going on to become great SHL players who dominate the league today as well as Chadathy Brodangleschlong. LMAO what a name. Dick joke.

This was also around the time the New England Wolfpack was becoming one of the most hated teams in the SHL. Some felt they held too much influence in the league. Some found their pack mentality (Get it? Wolfpack? I’m funny) overbearing, if not disturbing. Everyone hated that they won. Over the next four seasons the Wolfpack won three Challenge Cups.

Many people threw mud at the Wolfpack during this time. But few knew how to stop them. There were accusations, rule changes, and other typical bullshit often seen in the SHL. But only one man came up with the perfect plan to stop the Wolfpack – Valtteri Bottas.

Rather than outright attack the Wolfpack, Bottas came up with a plan so devious, so clever, so stealthy that nobody until now has written about it, because only at SHL Sucks will you get this kind of watchdog reporting and analysis. Many people assumed Bottas as General Manager of the Halifax Raiders loaded up on draft picks in Season 30 to help the Raiders win. Don’t get me wrong those picks did help the Raiders win. They won a Four Star Cup that season in spite of finishing fourth in the Eastern Conference back when conferences were still a thing and juniors and all eight teams still made the SMJHL playoffs.

But more importantly for Bottas more players gave him more chances to launch his master plan, an attack on the Wolfpack from within. With 13 players drafted by the Raiders, that gave him 13 chances to get a student of his drafted by New England, bent on destroying the Softpack on the inside. Nobody would have seen it coming. Not even Nobody because he hadn’t joined the SHL yet. Loser.

Anyways so along came the SHL Season 31 Draft, where we would find out if Bottas’s grand plan would actually work. Certainly the odds were in his favor, with 13 players and only 14 SHL teams but anything can happen at the draft. The 1st Raider off the board was also the first player off the board, Pietra Volkova. She didn’t really live up to the billing of a 1st overall pick while she was in West Kendall, but also she was in West Kendall where nobody is allowed to have nice things so it probably wasn’t her fault. Either way she couldn’t be part of the master plan from the other end of the Atlantic coast. After Volkova Alex Reed went to Toronto at 14. Reed had 45 career points. That worked out well. The third time was the charm as Toivo Kosonen was drafted by New England at 18, the 4th pick of the 2nd round. Now the master plan was a go.

The next step was to prepare Kosonen with management experience and that door opened in Halifax shortly. Bottas hired a new Co General Manager in Season 32. This was his chance to hire Kosonen right? WRONG! Then everybody would see the master plan coming! Instead he hired Connor Sather, who stepped up to the head spot after one season. THEN Kosonen was hired. All part of the plan! Never show you’re hand too early! Like a good deke when you’re playing Chel with the boys.

Well New England fell for the plan hook line and sinker, hiring Kosonen as Co General Manager after just one season in Halifax. Literally I don’t even remember who was Co before that, it doesn’t matter, that was like eight seasons ago. Nobody cares. The point is now Kosonen, with a season’s worth of preparation, was in place to execute Operation Fuck The Softpack.

Only it didn’t go that way so easily. In a surprise to everyone, Jasper Calyton stayed on as GM for what felt like forever. You would think he would of been forced to step down after being named SHL commissioner but then again who else would want to deal with the bullshit he has? All the scandals with Portland (remember when a while back Kyle Wahlters was teasing on social media his suspension was over and someone would hire him? LMAO). Reducing ice time for players so we don’t have phony champions like the S37 Jets. Getting rid of cap space trades so Calgary can’t keep signing free agents. That’s all the important stuff Clayton has done and he’s really good and stuff as a commissioner. And despite doing all that stuff he just kept clicking along as New Englands GM.

That might have been the best thing for the Master Plan, though, because Kosonen waited in the wings so long we all forgot about how he got started, or that even there would be any reason to hate New England. They kinda suck now, let’s be honest. Like yeah they make playoffs and stuff but they haven’t won a Cup since Season 33 and have only been to the finals once since then. They’re basically West Kendall now but nobody gives them a hard time about it.

But now finally Clayton realizes he kinda hasn’t done good as GM so he stepped down and let Kosonen take over. And what does Kosonen do. BOOM! Trade Clayton to Toronto! BOOM! Use one of the picks to play mind games with Seattle! Gone are the nice Wolfpack happy fun people! It’s like a good old fashioned heel turn! And the booker set it up for 12 years and we didn’t even see it coming! WWE should honestly hire the SHL writers because at least they’d know how to get Roman Reigns over, am I right?

Anyways it’s really funny we didn’t see this coming but now it’s here and I AM HERE FOR IT and can’t wait to see what happens next. Next week on SHL Sucks I’ll write about how terrible the awards committee is. I have no idea who is winning any of the awards for S40 but I’m sure the committee will pick the wrong people like they always do because they suck. Peace y’all

I figured that went without saying, tbh, being from North Carolina and all. Hygiene isn't our specialty here.

You missed another Nobody joke in there smh.

Also no one gives WKP a hard time because we've done it for like 20 seasons now and it's gotten too easy to laugh Ninja
