There's two kinds of people: Thinkers and Doers. Portland is well known for its baseball team, the Thinkers. I'm proposing a team called the Seattle Doers. That's right, two teams in Seattle! By harnessing the municipal rivalry between the two cities, and putting the team in a whole different sport from Portland's (thereby guaranteeing no one can prove one team is better), we can grow the league even more in this key West Coast city.
The Doers will be all about action. Their uniforms and arena will be covered with verbs. Not those namby-pamby verbs that don't accomplish anything, like “to be†or “to want,†but real do something verbs, like “to go†or “to eat.†Those are the kind of verbs that this country was built on.
The mascot will be a big yellow Labrador named “Doobie,†because he's always doing something. The actor that plays him will need to be a long distance runner, because he's always going to be in action.

Are you bored of these teams with a city name followed by some garbage team name? Are you tired of teams getting to play all of their games in North America and not have to travel anywhere? Well then do I have a clever new team for you! We are the Naughty Dogs, and we're here to take over the SHL. The Naughty Dogs are based out of Germany, but we travel around and don't have a set home rink. Instead, we bring the great game of hockey around the country, and give the visitors a good time as they come in from their boring cities like San Francisco and Toronto. The concept is that this is a fake hockey league so I can name a team after a videogame company if I want to and nobody can sue me or anything. Our mascot of course is Daxter; that guy is a hoot.
If I were to have an expansion team in the SHL, I would place the team in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio is an extremely underrated hockey state and the loyal fans deserve to be represented in our great league. Thus, I present the
Ohio Union as the newest SHL expansion franchise. Ohio's location within the country, as well as its natural resources and swelling population, proved to be crucial in the fight to preserve the nation as a single Union. The state provided the most soldiers per capita of any state in the Union as well as some of the most important and famous generals of the time, including Philip Sheridan, William T. Sherman, and eventual President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant. Grant served as the Commanding General of the Army, the highest rank within the military. A grand total of five Ohio-born officers in the Civil War were elected as President of the United States. The mascot for the team would bear resemblance to William T. Sherman.

First of all, who wouldn't want to be on a team lead by Richard Physt? On a serious note, if i got the chance to head an expansion franchise I'd go outside the box. Bringing us south to Mexico with the Aztecs. A natural, nearby rival in Texas, not to mention a themed rivalry with the other native team up north. ANYONE who knows their history knows the Aztecs were known as brutal and effective warriors and who better to lead a physical team than your soon to be S41 Turd Ferguson winner? Featuring sweet sweaters with an Orange, Black, and White combo as a nod to both the Jaguar (Orange) and Eagle (White) Warriors so famously used, as well as their main weapon Material and symbol of strength, Obsidian (Black). Monty (Montezuma) as our Mascot, ALL will soon fear the REVENGE of Monty and the Aztecs. With a few great ideas taken away as far as branding is concerned, Minnesota with the Native Head, West Kendal with the Eagle, and Los Angeles with the Panther (another name for Jaguar. This problem would be solved by having either some tweaks to a headdress thing to make it stand out, or a custom full body or upper body shot of a warrior.

The Pacific North West has been deprived of a good team for way too long with. I would put a team in Vancouver. With teams like the Whalers and the Riot being the closest teams that poor city has had nothing to truly cheer for throughout its history.
The idea being the team is to honour the great history of the city. They will play out of an outdoor rink located in the middle of beautiful Stanley Park (don't ask how this works). This is a great center point for everyone in the city to easily get to. The team shall be named the Vancouver Totems. To distinguish themselves from every other team in that area they will stray away from using blue as the may colour and instead choose a bright yellow with powder blue trim. Their lovable mascot shall be a totem pole. To avoid any conflict between interested parties there shall be 198 different mascots, one representing each native band in the area.

Firstly it would be near impossible to ever play outside seeing how the average temps 9 months out of the year are above Hell Fire but everywhere you go you find air conditioning and men in skinny jeans, not just skinny jeans but skinny sweatpants as well. This made me think that real men…men who play hockey could clean up in a town like this. We would be called the Savanna Sea Crabs and we’d have the hottest ice girls who collectively couldn’t count to 49. Our mascot would of course be a crab maybe we’d name him Carl and our motto would be “Got Crabs?†and if not Pedersen would be the one to give them to you.

The SHL is happy to announce that it is expanding across the Atlantic Ocean and making its way into the European market! The first SHL team to expand to Europe will be in Denmark where we believe the greatest potential for league growth is, Copenhagen.
The team will be called the Danish Vikings. Because the Swedish Hockey league and the Liiga take the markets in Sweden and Finland, we believe that the entire country of Denmark are potential fans of the team, as well as residents of the surrounding countries, Germany, Finland and Sweden. The mascot is a caricature of the medieval Danish Viking, name . Concept art of the mascot can be found below.
In order to advertise the team, rather than playing every home game in Copenhagen, the team will start each season with a tour around Denmark and Sweden. The tour will start and end in Copenhagen, making stops in Odense, Aarhus, Aalborg, Viborg, Esbjerg, and finally Malmo before returning to their home rink.

The Pickering Gooneys. The Pickering Gooney's mascot would be the russian dog, he seems like the most loyal dog to ever to be born. The gooneys will play a loyal, team first, hard working, gritty brand of hockey. They will never take a shift off and will respect their opponents and be the most gentlemen of gentlemen. They will be respected by their fans, opponents and it will be one of the most wholesome teams to ever play on an SHL ice surface. I am putting the team in Pickering as that is the birthplace of Ronnie Westbrook who also goes by the name gooney. The team will not be a soft team by any means but they will play a physical brand of hockey that would be respected by their opponents, plain and simple. They will not hit people in the head, behind to try to injure any other opponent. This is my concept for a new SHL team and its something that could be the most wholesome thing ever

I know literally fuck all about any hockey teams, both in real life and on the SHL, but not being qualified or informed has never stopped me from doing something in the entirety of my life so leggo.

Having been honored to become the President of the next expansion team in the SHL and also being a big fan of Canada as a country I would probably locate my team there. Canada is a very nice country and definitely a place I would like to visit IRL when I have the chance so I am very drawn to locating my team exactly there.
Considering some time ago I had an entry to get a team in one of the Latvian teams which was associated with deer I would probably call my team the Stags and locate it in Victoria, which is located in British Columbia, the state yielding one of the biggest deer populations in the entire North America.
The team colors would be blue (nor bright nor dark) with a touch of white and the away jerseys obviously being the opposite.
The Victoria Stags mascot would obviously be a half drunk guy wearing a Stag costume.
Simulation Hockey League should think about expanding across the ocean, international fans deserve not the only offseason tournament as the main attraction, but should also have teams they could follow and cheer on a daily basis.
Poland might not be the location that first comes to mind, but would definitely be the one I'd be most interested in. We have some hockey traditions and major sport would definitely sell out seats for every game. Town of Wizna would be a great location as is a place of one of the more memorable battles in the recent history of Poland.
Whole branding concept would be based on most deadly and successful cavalry unit in the history: Winged Hussars, that was able to sweep opponents outnumbering them 40:1 or even more, even in the age of gunpowder (XVI & XVII century). Their most logical mascot would be the white eagle. So the full team name would be Wizna Winged Hussars - WWH - even acronym emanates with strength.
They even would have almost dedicated to them introduction music

I wouldn't choose a big media market I would actually go the opposite way. My team would be the northernmost and the most west SHL team : The Anchorage Huskies. And if anybody says but Alaska has never produced any hockey players.. that's simply not true. Matt Carle, Brandon Dubinsky and Scott Gomez were all born in Anchorage so the city actually has some sort hockey pride. Anchorage also already has a ECHL team the Alaska Aces ,so the infrastructure needed for a hockey team is already in place as well as some hockey fan base. It is also easy to say that the conditions of fostering local talent are quite good since hockey can be played outdoors in Anchorage from October until March.Anchorage isn't also thaht small it still has a population of 300k people which is way more than As for the mascot the choice is fairly easy it's Husko the Husky. The logo would probably look similar to the one of the UConn Huskies but obviously without the UConn part.

It's been dream, for sometime, to be able to take hold of an expansion team and deal with the branding and everything behind the magical works. Lucky time it could be, the SHL PT group is giving me the opportunity to take the helms of the SHL's latest, newest and fakes expansion team. So where does the team land? What do you take into account? Do you keep it in north america, or try and break things up a bit and find yourself on the other side of the deep, blue water? Do you go to a hockey lovers place? What theme does your team playoffs? Holy shit, so many great questions, so many amazing possibilities and so little time. Let's not delay this gem of a Point Task no more. Here we go!
1. Vatican Vipers
We're crossing the sea here bitches and going to a place all holy and bright. Bright with the Lord, erected deep into your hearts, that is. I've had a team named this once in the DCHL (now dead), but they allowed you to name it whatever and blah blah. I love the team name. Rolls off the tongue, goes together and sounds fierce as fuck. Who wouldn't want to play for the Vipers?
2. Bangkok Bombers
Let's go to the land of the Thai people. Where the scenery is gorgeous and so are the women (if you're into 6 inch pipes between their legs too). It's warm all year long and your constantly p[laying in a place of paradise. See that? Play a 60 minute game and then rip some rails while surfing the gorgeous sea at sunset at one of your local beaches. Win/win.
3. Salt Lake City Wolves OR Tuktoyaktuk Wolves
You can take the gorgeous city where we watched Sakic and the boys oh so long ago capture gold in a sexy performance, or go to the largest of hamlets found in the North West Territories. It's fucking different, unique and I sorta like the idea behind it.
4.Victoria/Vancouver Orca
Or some shit like that. Bring a big boy team to the SHL from the best coast.
