Sunday Funday: Pregame Meal
#1
(This post was last modified: 07-22-2018, 10:37 AM by Pris.)

THIS PT IS FOR SHL PLAYERS AND SEND DOWNS. IT IS NOT FOR SMJHL ROOKIES.

Everyone knows that a crucial part of all hockey players' gameplay is pre-game routine. A big part of this is the all-important pregame meal.

What's your player's pre-game meal of choice? Is it something with any special meaning to them? A guilty pleasure, or an energy-packed choice?

Write at least 15 words about what your player's typical pre-game meal is, and why.

You will receive 1 capped TPE for this.

Deadline: 24 hours from now (Monday, July 23rd, at 10:37 am EST)

Cutting his teeth on the rec hockey rinks of North Carolina, Evans' go-to meal was a "picnic size" four-piece Supreme dinner with french fries and sweet tea from Bojangles'. Unfortunately, Bojangles' has not expanded to the far reaches of Manitoba as of yet, but he's still working on making this a possibility.

Alexis Metzler tries to eat at least one full english style breakfast on game day, with an added stack of pancakes. The pancakes can be done after the game, if necessary; he knows the family recipe.

Fletcher's pre game meal is pretty basic. He's not someone who likes to always eat the same thing so he usually rotate between pastas and chicken breast and potato while making sure to change often the spices and sauce used with them.

Maxim has a pre-game meal that can range from pasta to curry depending on his mood. However the one constant he has is a cup of coffee with some protein shake working as the creamer and a chocolate croissant. It sounds very french but come on, he can’t live without his coffee and chocolate pastry.

Physt tends to simply eat whatever he feels like, however he refuses to forgo his large glass of whiskey.

Eduard's pregame classis is a good ol' medium steak with white rice it's the same meal his mother made for him on special occasions and as a desert he gets a piece of home made tiramisu.

You know how when you eat you shouldn't swim for at least an hour? Brady does the same thing with hockey. So he has to eat his dinner 4 hours before playing (chicken, brocolli and noodles) and then 30 minutes before hitting the ice has half a banana. Good energy, but also light. Can't play with a brick in your stomach!

Hobbs pre game meal is pretty simple. It started when he was in juniors and continues still today. A simple 12 ounce rib eye steak with a sunny side up egg and a side of hash brown mixed with cut up pork belly, all that gets chased down with a full pitcher of lemon water.

Zajac's pre-game meal is normally whatever he can fish out of his fridge. Most of the time it's cold pizza or leftovers anyway.

Anders Christiansen meal of choice is good old pasta, mostly penne with tomato sauce with two eggs and a bunch of fruits like apple, banana and watermelon.

CFJ's pregame meal consists some Spaghetti and Meatballs with a side of salad or one slice of Garlic Bread with a fruit cup. It's important for CFJ to get a good balance of healthy food before a game so he can be fully energized for the game coming up.

Growing up Carter used to just pump a couple 5 hour energies into his stomach and call it good for a game. Now, as a player entering his prime, he’s chosen chicken Caesar wraps as his go to pregame meal. Nutritious and requires very little cooking skill.

Now that Mikko has been traded to the Dragons, he's been eating chicken parm before games. It's helped him fit in with the new team, and also puts him in that Dragons frame of mind.

My pre-game food isn't actually a food. It's a drink. Pickle juice. It's basically the reason the Eagles won a game once in 2000. Here's what happened: The season started in Dallas famously known for the onside kick that the Eagles kicked and recovered to start the game. This game is known as the Pickle Juice Game, as the Philadelphia players were given pickle juice by Andy Reid in order to prepare for the high temperature in Dallas that day.
