S43 PT #1 - New Season, New Reasons

The Montreal Militia are heading into S43 under completely new management, after the sudden stepping down of former GM keygan. They were immediately tasked with the S43 SMJHL draft, where they were successful in bringing active talent to the roster. The Militia faced some big losses with players being called up to the SHL, but still appear to have a deep roster that could surprise many. Pavol Pivonka (Seattle Riot) was named captain, with fellow returnees Jeff Brogen (SFP) and Charlie Schieck (SFP) as his alternate captains. A strong leadership core, and a promising rookie group could spell major success for the Militia this season, but they will surely need some luck to along with that. The new coaching staff has been working tirelessly to get everyone up to speed on the new system they’ll be expected to play, and it looks like they’ve got this roster ready to compete, but the SMJHL playoff race is shaping up to be a tight one for S43.

New England’s big 3 strengths are the top line, young players, and coaching. The top line featuring Fletcher, Green and Dominque was amazing last season. Throughout pre-season they look really strong again. They generate most of the goals for the Wolfpack. If the team is doing well, it means the top line is doing well. The next strength is the young guns. Led by players like O’Sullivan, Gotze, Czerkawski and Andani; these young players are going to step up in Season 43. Expect a lot of growth from these guys. New England will have 3 rookies this season, including an all-rookie third line. This should be exciting for those players and the fans. Lastly, the coaching has done a good job finding the chemistry between players. The team wasn’t predicted to do as well as they did last year, but thanks to the great chemistry on the lines, the team surprised many.

Anchorage Armada is the best team in the SMJHL by far. The key reason for me is that I think we have an amazing locker room, and have had it for a long time. Between baby dad ML and old dog sleepy and the ashes of arty there isn’t really a place I could see where the old guard have stayed active and just been a blast to joke around with. No matter what time of day you can find someone to talk to and chill out with. Never been better that it is today. Another reason is we are actually heading into what should be a good season. We have a strong core going into the season, and added some promising rookies to our group in the draft, by post season we should be on the list of cup challengers for sure. Third reason? Sleepys pre-game music pump up playlist is the bomb.com. With the leadership, roster, and sleepys hype, we are able to produce some of the best talent in the league, and do a good job introducing young blood into our roster.

The Whalers made it to the finals last year, and nearly nothing has changed. It’s a weird feeling. So what three things are there that are going to make things better? Skalsberg is going to be even better. Soren Kierkegaard is now taking forward opposite him, so it’s great. The Dane’s passing ability, is superb and so getting Skals more pucks, means more shots, means more goals. Second, we have improved by not really changing much, but a lot of our players hit cap this year, meaning we’re at peak but the chemistry it still there. Finally, we spiked the drinks of the Kelowna so they are going to have a hard time getting up in the morning, staying focused and staying ready. Some call it cheating, I call it corporate espionage that we are using to our advantage to take advantage of everything. I’m curious to see how I do when my defense recovers every faceoff headed my way.

1. Veteran leadership. Minnesota has some veteran players who have, and still are playing at the highest level. Guys like Garbanzo, Flacko, and Lundberg have seen and done it all. They are a highly decorated group that have made deep playoff runs and won cups. Every team needs a group like that to keep the locker room focused and disciplined over the course of the season.

2. Elite 2nd line. The 2nd forward line in Minnesota has some elite talent on it. Terrance Nova is a guy everyone in Minnesota is familiar with. He has been the best forward for the Chiefs for a while now, so we all know the level of play we're going to get from him. They also added Noro Wozy, who will line up on Nova’s left wing. Wozy is a gifted sniper and should have a great year in a new system. On the other side, Lord Pretty Flacko adds a veteran presence to the line. Flacko’s ability to see passing lanes, and be in the right place at the right time will allow Nova and Wozy to make the most of their abilities.

3. Improved goaltending. Another season of development for young goaltender, Sebastien Primeau. When you look at Minnesota’s roster, he is probably still the weakest link, but he is greatly improved over last season. I expect to see a much better performance from him in S43.

The Toronto North Stars have not made the playoffs since S37, when they lost a heartbreaking seven game series in the Challenge Cup Finals. Since then, they have undergone a massive rebuild which has complete revamped the team. The young guns are just entering their primes, and they're all hungry to get a taste of playoff action. Led by studs in Mikhail Lokitonov, Bob Bergen and Tommy Tuck, and with a nice complementary cast with the likes of Anders Christiansen, Richard Physt and Ti-Guy Edmond, the Stars have a solid group of young players. Another reason the Stars will make the playoffs is their two elite superstars, Chris York and Zander Rhys. These two are among the very best players in the SHL, and are still at the top of their games. You need elite players to succeed in the SHL, and the Stars have two of the very best. Lastly, Toronto also has a top-notch coaching team, as both Nobody and Symmetrik have proven to be capable of wringing the most of of their rosters.

TheWozy factor - They say superstar players make teammates around them better.. Noro Wozy defined that this preseason. He was the driving force of the Chiefs offense and if it all translates into the regular season, the Jay McD will be his -
hands down. We all know the type of numbers he can put up, we've seen him do it in a steelhawks jersey so getting him involved in the playbook should be easy and should make Minnesota's offense staggering.

Isak Odegard coming through - We have all been anticipating a game- breaking season for PB's player, TBH. We all know it's inevitable for the ever growing shutdown defenseman. Odegard is still young and the brightest spot on the Chiefs blueline. There's a reason why Isak led all players in the SHL preseason in ice time and will have plenty of room to show off what should be a thriving season for the highly skilled scoring defenseman.

Offensive depth - The Chiefs will roll out 4 lines of different combinations, each including atleast 1 to 3 elite scorers if they stick to the same scheme as preseason. Shorter shifts and more intensity. The most dangerous looking line will be Wozy - Nova - Thorstien, but they only averaged about 8 minutes a game together in the preseason. Doubt that will change much - since all the lines responded decently with spreading the talent around.

Here we go, 3 aspects that might not make this next season completely worthless

1)Best forward in the league
Chris York is the most dominant forward in the SHL, he's so good that him alone can give hope for Toronto to make the playoffs. He almost did it last season before getting cold in the last stretch of the regular season.

2)Losing Clayton and Watson will give more ice time to young players
These two were key players for us last season, of course it makes us worst on paper. But this team has a lot of young players that keep on growing and will now have an opportunity to prove their worth. It might lead to some great surprises and new lines combo that the team can build on.

3)Backup goalie active again
Steven Moore couldn’t get us one single win last season. He was at 165 TPE, so if he can get to around 200 when the team needs him to start, it should give the North Stars better odds to win.

The Texas Renegades are poised to have a great year, and we're hoping to make a solid playoff run capped off with a Cup ceremony. There's strengths galore, so we'll start off with the glaring weakness. Our GM, @dankoa. Now that we've got that out of the way, let's start addressing our strengths. First and foremost, we have the best Co-gm in the league - that's right, JP. I would be lying if I said I didn't think JP could carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is, by far, our greatest strength. We also have a great mix of veterans and young players. Our vets are amazing, and they take the young players under their wings and try to help them learn and grow. Our young players are hungry and constantly push each other, and the vets, to be the best players they can be. This is all capped off by the best off-season signing of any team - Theo Fucking Kane. Edmonton might have let him go, but we know how good of a player he is. We're confident he's going to put us over the top and help us lift the Cup this season.

MONTREAL IMPACT FOREVER

The Halifax Raiders ended the S42 season in disappointment last year after being eliminated from the playoffs in the very last game of the season. A heartbreak for the young Halifax core, but they are poised to return in S43 with a vengeance. The strong, yet young core of the Raiders will remain largely the same during S43. King, Rieper, Kovacs brothers, Finley, Faceoffs, Egger, Cile, and a few others all return to start off S43. The raiders already have great chemistry together playing together last year and now are closer than ever after the disappointing end to S42. But the returning players isn't the only big news. The Halifax drafted an excellent number of rookies that look to make a splash in the SMJHL. The first round picks Dash, and Bork, look to lead the new rookies as they start their professional hockey careers. Finally, the coaching staff remains the same. TDZ and Dizzy took one of the youngest SMJHL teams to date and brought them one game away from the playoffs. Expectations are high this season with the returning core, the brand new rookies, and the excellent coaching staff behind the bench.

Heading into the 43rd simulation hockey league season, three strengths can be attributed to the Winnipeg Jets franchise. First of all, one of their strengths is their forwards. The Winnipeg Jets have 7 different forwards all over 1000 tpe. This means that they can roll 3 different lines all effectively. Furthermore, another big strength of the Winnipeg Jets hockey franchise is that they have added smjhl mvp Troy McClure III to their blueline. Troy's going to bring some fresh dynamic play to the veteran filled lineup, and hopefully provide a spark for our older players. Finally, a third strength of the Winnipeg Jets this upcoming season is their goaltending. Zhumbayev has one of the highest tpe totals of all goaltenders in the shl, and he could steal many games this season to help make up for the loss of Big Manius who has just retired. All in all, there are many things to be optimistic about for the Winnipeg Jets this upcoming season!

1) Anchorage must have one of the most vibrant locker rooms in the business. There are loads of alumni, many of them leading their own teams at junior and pro level, so find advice as a rookie is easy and plentiful. The chat is great and there has not been anything other than comraderie since I joined. Lose or win we remain friends and that keeps us strong.

2) Our D corps is one of the strongest in the league. Jordan Von Matt and I are both capped with Sean Stevenson Jr. not far behind. Karl Von Wittelsbach scores for fun and no one can tell why and we added really promising fresh blood in Stolp Skottson. Tucker Baloo may not be all there anymore but he is still useful on the bottom pair.

3) Filling the gaps. With the retirment of Grayson St Raegan, Viktor Kolesnikovs and the call up of Cam Carter we needed new blood to keep us pushing for the cup. Ml002 and Sleepy did a great job of scouting talent and have filled out roster out with a plethora of young players. Almost our entire forward line up is active and that bodes well for the latter part of the season and the future.

Texas after years of struggling is set to take the league over and win the s43 Challenge cup.
Texas has a bunch of players over the 1000 mark and many young talents who are ready to step up and help win the team a cup.

Texas has always been known as a well scoring team team and they show off their scoring talents with players such as Scoring talent Logan Jensen who with a troubled past always finds a way to keep his future bright. Veteran talents such as Conklin Owen, Vasily Horvat and Jack Durden. All 4 of these talents were an unstoppable force and led the team into a playoff spot last season but lost in the end.

Texas also has a great group of young player who are coming up from the smjhl and as a team expect to step up right away and put in work

Lastly defense wins games and Texas has the leagues best defender in the man the myth the legend “The Dude”
