You love your teammates, but there are so many other awesome players in the league. What if you got to play with them?
Written option: Choose 5 other SMJHL players who are NOT on your team to complete a starting lineup that includes yourself. Use whatever criteria you want and tell us about it and/or how the six of you would get along if you did play together. Must include 150 words.
Graphic option: Make a graphic depicting you + your 5 choices - could be a magazine cover, an All-Star roster announcement, a dream you once had, whatever. Must include at least one render.
Reward
4 TPE for doing the thing. (Just one of the options, not both.)
Only S43 SMJHL Rookies (S44 SHL Rookies) are eligible for this PT.
Do NOT claim TPE for this task until a post has been made in the claim thread.
So my player is a Sniper who currently plays Right Wing so I wanted to be surrounded by some of the league’s top talent to see what it’s like to play with all that star power. All the players I picked on this list are great at making assists so it should complement me nicely and allow me to have a lot of fun shooting the puck.
The players I picked are all on different teams to get a nice mix of everyone.
At centre I will take Kristof Kovacs from Halifax. Dude is first amongst all centres by 6 points and has 21 assists in 29 games. Send the puck my way please!
At left wing I choose Philipp Winter from Colorado. He is a stud that has a great shot but can still pass as well. It would be nice for his lethal shot to be an option on the other wing. He always plays well against my Militia.
On defense I have Buck Maverick of Vancouver and Greg Connors of Kelowna. These two d-men know what it takes to win and are both playing on top teams in the league. They are assist machines who can dish the puck out really well so I am going to get some awesome break out passes.
For a goalie I picked Benjamin Blue of Anchorage. I love my Militia goalie Petr Vrana but as I have to pick someone else I think Benjamin Blue is a total star. He is 2nd in both main goalie stats, Save Percentage and GAA and I know having him behind the team will give us all lots of confidence to take some chances.
First SHL goal on first SHL shot in first SHL game.

As a Sniper right wing like Mack above, I was searched for linemates that would compliment my "shoot first, worry about everything else later" attitude. Since I am a first gen, I thought it would be interesting to choose fellow S43 draftees, who would understand the excitement of entering the SMJHL for a rookie season!
At left wing, I would choose Rainbow Dash of the Halifax Raiders. It would be cool to play with the number 1 pick and to see what Eggy is like, being the commissioner of the league. With a build that favors shooting, Rainbow Dash could also bombard goaltenders with shots, but having a high defense rating helps to recover from aggressive attacking.
At center, I would pick Xena of the Anchorage Armada. They were the highest selected first gen in the draft, so I would be interested to learn how they gathered such interest from scouts without a prior reputation. The tips could help me to get noticed by SHL scouts in the future. We could also talk about how each of us liked the league, and since Xena is a shooting player like myself, we could bring goals from all angles.
At defense, I would choose Tauras Karazija of the Vancouver Whalers. I know that we get along because we have conversed on Discord, and he seems like a nice guy. On ice chemistry would be important, and he could be trustworthy to cover our forwards' defensive lapses.
The second defenseman I would select would be Scott Niedermayer Jr. of the Kelowna Knights. I don't know him that well, but I like that he is an offensive minded defenseman who ironically has higher scoring ratings than I do. There's a reason Norris winners put up a lot of points in the NHL; it's important to get points from the blueline too!
The goalie I would like to have would be Mark McFleury also of the Kelowna Knights. He was the first goalie to be selected in an age where there aren't many new goaltenders; it's a position with a lot fewer slots. I would be curious to learn how being a rookie goaltender differs from an entry season as a skater, and if he feels like there is extra pressure.

Being co-gm of the San Francisco Pride and knowing where Ray Bork will go – I’d choose other Pride prospects to get that chemistry going early. There are so many to choose from, so I just tried to build a top line with correct positions. A left wing, center and right winger up top – with both Pride GMs manning the blue line and even a goalie. I ended up with two Whalers, a couple Militia and a Scarecrow. With so many Pride prospect playing with me now in Halifax I assumed it would be a tad difficult to pick and build this sweet lineup... but the Pride currently have fourteen (including Bork) playing in the minor league currently. My body is ready, the future is bright in San Francisco!
Forwards:
Luke Thomason (Vancouver Whalers), Goku Muerto (St. Louis Scarecrows), Carlo Russo (Vancouver Whalers)
Defenders:
Charlie Schieck (Montreal Militia) – Ray Bork (Me)
Derek Bohne would be centering the line consisting of non-Militia players. On his right wing would be Colorado Raptors winger Alex Winters. Winters is a great guy, and him and Bohne get along fantastically.
On the left wing, Rainbow Dash would slot in nicely. Dash is active and a big up-and-coming player in the league. Bohne and Dash have only spoken a few times, but they seem to get along pretty well.
For defense, I would definitely have to pick Jean-Pierre G**. He's an absolute stud. Even if controversy surrounds him lately, he's a solid defenseman and puts up great offensive numbers. Plus, he's my bean brother. How could I not include my bean brother?
To go alongside JP, I'd go with none other than Poopity Scoop. Scoop is a beast in his own right. Really, though, I just want to hear the announcer say his name.
In net, I'd go with McFleury. Honestly, I don't think we need a goalie when you've got G** and Scoop out there, but you guys wanted a goalie.
This team would get along great. The only trouble would be when we lose our first game and everyone blames everyone else.

Poopity Scoop is a defenseman so we have that one covered.
At center we can bring Derek Bohne. He picked me for his team and he's cool so he should join me. Plus he's a pretty mediocre player so we can survive with him. @wumaduce
On the wing we got Muhammad McLovin. McLovin is one of the few guys in the league who will hit like Poopity Scoop so by adding him we can make a very ferocious team. If anyone wants to fuck with this squad they getting bopped. Plus he will be my future teammate in Minnesota. @kobel9
On the other wing we got Eero Niemi, another future Chiefmate. It sucks he also is playing for the Armada who kidnapped mayuu's brother but eventually we will save them all. Eero is a scoring machine and will surely light up the lamp for us to make up for his physical weakness. @spooked
Playing alongside me at defense we got mah boi George Moore. Yeah you may be like who da fuck is George Moore but don't worry, it's all on lock. We may be opponents now but in future, we are going to do amazing things in Minnesota as the future best d pairing ever in SHL world history. Me am the big bopper and passer, the breakout and hitting specialist while Georgey will take the shots but the best part is we both play some mean technical defense. @Leppish
And in net we got Nathan Cosco. He may be a backup goalie for the Raiders but that's a result of nepotism bullshit. He the best goalie in the J not on Detroit and just look at those numbers of his... Undefeated and posting a .949 save percentage and 1.07 GAA... just wow. Someone take Kata Vilde out now and throw him in the dumpster where he belongs. @Taxman100

My starting lineup would consist of all rookies and look something like this:
Shouta Aizawa - Bernard Freeman - Spazzy McFee
Scott Niedermayer Jr. - Tauras Karazija
Mark McFleury
Obviously Shouta Aizawa has proven to be an elite center/playmaker so early on into his feldgling career. His current assist total leads all rookie forwards and would be a monster end-to-end.
Bernard Freeman, myself, is a monster of a shot generator and has a great two way player build. I would provide a great forecheck, as well as an unparalleled ability to get shots on to the net.
Spazzy McFee brings the "it" factor and has proven to have both great vision and a knack for finding the back of the net.
Scott Niedermayer Jr. and Tauras Karazija are both stalwarts on the defensive end, and major contributors in both 5v5 and the power play. They would prove to be strong complements to each other on the back end.
Mark McFleury isn't having the greatest rookie campaign, but couple with the fact he would have elite point generation and maximum protection in front of him I have no doubt he would prove to be elevated above his current level of play.
For me, I think my line would be pretty sick if I got to chose four other players to play with. On my wings would be Oliver Kovacs and Andrew Martin. With Aizawa having two premiere scoring threats on his line, he would be unstoppable by just feeding them the puck. Also both of these players are currently shoot first where Aizawa is pass first. For his defenseman I would want Rex Kirby and Craig Finley. Kirby is an excellent locker room guy and would be a great guy to have on the ice with Aizawa. I would take Finley because he is a shoot first player who gets the put on net from the blue line. Between the pipes would be Kata Vilde. Not someone I was overly familiar with however as player and a future star he is a beast. His numbers this season are only so low because of the defenseman in front of him. But deep down, he is a star.

if you guys wanted his brother maybe they would have made a half decent offer to get him :>
Honestly...As a 1st gen, I still don’t know how the sims work and who would really compliment me as a player based on their build. So, I’ll just be looking at High TPE and arbitrary reasoning. Ideally, I would like to play with King for obvious reasons, but he’s a center like me… So that’s a no-go. I’ll be sticking to SMJHL players so I don’t hold my team back too much. I was planning on being the only rookie, but I kind of want to play with Rainbow Dash as my LW. I’m sure I could learn a lot from her, being the First OA also it would be nice to have another female on the team. If I’m sticking to being the only rookie, then Luke Thomason as my Left Winger because King has a crush on him so he must be cool. I’ll take Ēriks Skalbergs as my RW and Geoff Moore as my D because they have TPE of like 400 something. And as for my Goalie…Benjamin Bleu would be my go-to man, but since he’s already on my team I’ll throw Cedric Robinson into the mix.

I'm Aaron Freakin Rome. The toughest, meanest, hardest working defenseman in the SMJHL. As a guy who takes care of his own end first, I want to play with guys who can compliment my game and be at the right places at the right time when I flip pucks off the boards, or make a nice first pass out of the zone.
RW: Vladislav Konstantin (KEL) - Now this guy is a stud. Konstantin is currently leading the SMJHL with 20 goals in 30 games played. He is also 2nd overall in the league in points with 38. This guy has incredible hockey sense and awareness in the offensive zone and knows where to be when finding open space to get shots off and putting the puck in the net. He's also got a solid defensive game and can hold his own quite nicely in his own end.
RW: Boris Denisovich (KEL) - Boris Denisovich is another guy that I would be incredibly lucky to have on my team. He is currently ranked 4th overall in the league with 16 goals scored but leads the league in points with 41. He has an incredible hockey IQ and is considered to be more of a playmaker rather than a goal scorer. He always makes smart plays under pressure and is pretty shifty when moving around the ice which makes it difficult for dmen like me to smash him against the boards.
C: Oliver Kovacs (HAL) - Kovacs is a gem. He is currently ranked 5th overall in the league in goals with 15, just one behind Denisovich. He's also ranked 4th overall in the SMJHL for points with 36. Kovacs has a little bit more feistiness to his game and is not afraid to get his hands dirty. He plays a hard game at both ends of the ice and is not afraid to take the puck to the net to score the dirty goals.
D: Scott Niedermeyer Jr (STL) - This kid is special. He currently has 6 goals and 20 points in 30 games and is ranked 16 amongst dmen in the SMJHL in points. He's an elite skater for a big man and always makes a great first pass out of the defensive zone. He's got great skill and vision and is always positionally sound in his own end. He truly is a diamond in the rough and could very well go on to become one of the best dmen to ever come out of the SMJHL.
G: Mark McFleury (KEL) - McFleury is a star in the making. He currently has 3.33 GAA, with a 0.887 save percentage and is tied for 2nd in the SMJHL in shutouts with 2. He has decent stats for a rookie goaltender on an average team and is one of the main reasons why his team is having success in the standings. The kid has a bright future ahead.
