Thoughts about League System with 2 new Expansion Teams
#1
(This post was last modified: 11-24-2018, 04:34 AM by Chris-McZehrl.)

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

if we talk about expansion we also must think about West/East Conference also maybe with 8 teams in each conference about Divisions.

I did some thinking about this situation and have a small simulation for that.

North Central Division:
Jets
Steelhawks
Dragons
Blizzard

East Central Division:
Stampede
Rage
Wolfpack
Stars

South Central Division:
Chiefs
Platoon
Renegades
New Expansion Team like Kansas City, Denver, Phoenix, St. Louis, Houston, Nashville, El Paso, New Orleans, Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, Jacksonville, San Antonio or Chicago

West Division:
Panthers
pride
Riot
New Expansion Team like Portland, San Diego, San Jose, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Phoenix, Salt Lake City or Vancouver (SHL Version)

with that we would have still two conferences:

North East Central Conference (NECC): North Central Division (NCD) + East Division (ED)
&
South West Central Conference (SWCC): South Central Division (SCD) + West Division (WD)

we could then think about an all playoff league with original nhl playoff format and the teams they losing the first round are in the lotto!

the both division winners of a conference are seeded and will play against the both worst conference teams. the rest of the playoffs like we handle it right now.

Example Division Standings:
z LAP 50 Points
SEA 35 Points
SFP 34 Points
Expansion A 25 Points

y TEX 49 Points
WKP 49 Points
MIN 33 Points
Expansion B 26 Points

Example Conference Standings:
z LAP 50 Points
y TEX 49 Points
WKP 49 Points
SEA 35 Points
SFP 34 Points
MIN 33 Points
Expansion B 26 Points
Expansion A 25 Points

West Playoffs Round One:
LAP versus Expansion A
SEA versus SFP
WKP versus MIN
TEX versus Expansion B

West Playoffs Round Two:
LAP versus SFP
TEX versus MIN

Lotto Draft Pick Teams from Western Conference:
Expansion A
Expansion B
SEA
WKP

good thing is ... all will make the playoffs so no more full post season golfing where the risk is high to lose active members. the losers of the first playoff round will be in the SHL Draft Lotto so tanking can be fucked with that way. We know Simon T Sim Engine and in playoffs unexpected can happen. The Lotto Draft Teams will be in order for the selection of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd OVA of the reg season. that means Expansion A would have the highest percantage to win the lotto pick and Expansion B the 2nd highest. But we also have 4 Teams from the Eastern Conference so this would give more teams a chance for an lotto pick if they lose in the first round of the playoffs. But in the other hand the worst reg season teams have there a advantage because of the reg season standings and there position before the Lotto Draft for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd OVA.

I also would like to have an open discussion here in this thread.

So weird. I just made a similar article.

Interesting having everyone make the playoffs.

You're not wrong, but also McZ is German so I'm not surprised he made a geographical goof. Very understandable.
