TASK 4: PM'D TASK 7: TASK 8: 2. Which GM in the finals do you believe has the tactical/Managerial advantage and why? 3. Between Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev I think both have excellent names and a name is what gives you the edge in the championship. That is why I think Artom Zhumbayev will win the cup. His name is a lot harder to spell and will confuse the other players so they can't score on him. 4. Lil' Manius will be the next great player for Winnipeg, he has a good pedigree and a good build, he knows how to win and has already got a taste of success. For West Kendall I'd have to say defenseman Rex Kirby, he's been good and is developing fast for the platoon. 5. The decision is easy for me I will for sure be going to Winnipeg for at least one game in this series. As many of you know I was one a Winnipeg Jet, my allegiance to that team has never wavered despite being a Calgary Dragon. They have a great stadium, excellent hotels with the finest Poon and the best porn any locker room has ever seen. TASK 9: @Bonk

TASK 1:
One of the biggest moves made by either team heading into the playoffs was the acquisition of Cameron Dubois from the New England Wolfpack by the West Kendall Platoon. While the acquisition of a depth defender may not seem like much on the surface, it's these depth players which can really make the difference in a long drawn out playoffs. Heading into the finals, Dubois was more than carrying his weight, and would ultimately end the playoffs with 7 assists, playing roughly 17 minutes per game in 18 games. Where he really began to help the team, however, was on the penalty kill, where he played a total of 37 minutes on the penalty kill in the playoffs on the second penalty kill unit. Unfortunately, it was the Jets' depth defenders who would reign supreme in the final series, as they would manage 17 points (including 2 goals) between the two of them throughout the postseason, leading to their ultimate victory over Dubois and the Platoon. TASK 3: For Rainbow Dash this season, the highlight was definitely picking up three game winning goals. The winger struggled in her rookie season, with only 14 points in 50 games and a single game winning goal to her name. A season later her scoring increased by 8 points, and she picked up two additional game winners to really raise her to the attention of scouts. Interestingly, her hits total did not increase in her second season in the league, indicating perhaps her focus in the offseason had been more on scoring than on her defensive and physical play, another reason why it was good to see her game winning goal total triple last season - evidence that her offseason work was not in vain. Unfortunately, Rainbow Dash's best season of her career thus far was not equaled with team success, as the Raiders missed the playoffs for the second season in a row. The winger had a -7 last season versus the 0 from the season before, perhaps an indication that the team took a step back despite her increased offensive performance. Also she played 666 minutes. So maybe that's the real highlight of season 44 for Rainbow Dash. TASK 4: PM'd TASK 6: For the Toronto North Stars, there's a few changes I believe could have been made in order to better the team's performance in the playoffs. For one, Eriksson was double shifted on lines three and four, and ended the team's only series with a -2. Making a change there early on in the series could have made a huge difference (personally I'd recommended double shifting Lundberg, the team's top scorer who only played on the first line). On Defense, I would've split up Rhys and Bergen. Beyond the top defensive pairing, the roster really went downhill. By splitting up the two top defenders on the team, perhaps there would have been better performance up and down the roster. The same issue becomes apparent with the team's powerplay - the second unit performed far better, scoring 3/4 of the team's goals. I would've personally moved Bergen to the team's top unit to see if he began to carry that group to a better powerplay performance. TASK 7: Task 8: 2. Which GM in the finals do you believe has the tactical/Managerial advantage and why? I'd have to go with JR95 of the West Kendall Platoon. There aren't many GMs left in the league who have been around as long as he has, making him one of the senior-most minds in the SHL right now. He's also the SMJHL simmer, which gives him a great amount of experience with the sim itself that most other GMs can only dream of. On experience alone, it has to be the Platoon. 4. Choose 1 young player from each team (either on their roster or a prospect of theirs) who you believe will be there teams next great player and why? For the Platoon, I'd have to say Rex Kirkby. An S43 draftee, Kirkby has already earned 628 TPE and looks to be the defender of the future for the Platoon. A British two-way defenseman, he plays a lot like former Wolfpack defender Jasper Clayton. For the Jets, I'd be interested in seeing the future of Ola Wagstrom. An S44 draftee, the Swedish RW is an offensive powerhouse, and looks to start lighting up the SHL's scoring leaderboard within the next few seasons. 5. You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why? Personally I'd choose to go see a game in West Kendall. While I'm sure the atmosphere is better in Winnipeg, there's something to be said for being able to head to the beach right after the game and hang out in the sun. While the actual hockey experience would be more enjoyable in the Peg, a trip to Florida along with a trip to the Challenge Cup finals takes the cake. LW - Rainbow Dash - Updates

TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE)
Choose one team in the series and talk about the steps they took to make the finals. Was it a free agent signing, or an MVP player, or trades, etc. Must be 150 words. The Colorado Raptors are a fascinating Cinderella Story. At the deadline, the Raptors moved most of their veteran presence, opening themselves up to a stockpile of picks in the rather large draft in the S45 season. This vaulted rookie Darrow and former #4 defender Jean-Pierre Gay to the top pairing, and forced many signings and movements within the roster. The Raptors were expected to miss the playoffs entirely. Instead, they worked their way to the Cup Finals, fighting tooth and nail every single game to prove to fans and pundits that they were nothing to look down on. Many counted the Raptors out every series they played, saying that they couldn’t make it past because they lacked star power. Akin to the rise of the Vegas Golden Knights, the feeling of being an underdog propelled their goaltender to backstop them night in and night out, a stellar performance from Darrow, and their offense working together as a whole to put the team into the finals versus the deadly St. Louis Scarecrows TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE) In 150 words or more write about the top highlight of your season. whether it be your first goal, your first hat trick, first shutout, clinching playoffs, getting a career high in something, etc. Must be hockey related. Two things were the top highlight of JPG’s season. One was a team milestone and that is being the #1 defender on a team that made the Four Star Cup Finals. The pride that came over JPG was immense. He was talked about as a draft bust, someone who shouldn’t have been taken 4th overall, and shouldn’t have been taken 14th by Hamilton. He is a dying breed, a physically imposing defensive defender. But with his smooth skating, fights, big hits, and defensive play, his pairing was one of the best in the game, and his style opened up the ice for Darrow. Making the finals was a dream come true. The second milestone was making the Team Canada IIHF team. As a young defender playing in the SMJHL, it was a pipe dream to ever expect to play in the IIHF World Championship, yet he was. He would get to represent his country on both the World Junior Championship stage and the IIHF Championship stage, two of the biggest in the world. From a 2nd pairing defender a few seasons away from the SHL, to playing in the Finals, WJC, and IIHF World Championship in a few weeks TASK 4: (PM, 3 TPE) PM SENT! TASK 6: (Written, 3 TPE) In an effort to improve the product, the league has asked an outside source to look over the playoff lineups and determine which teams could have performed better.. Come up with a new set of lines for one of the teams eliminated in the playoffs, and explain why you made the choices you did. Must be at least 150 words. Detroit Falcons: Eero Makinen – Hippo Passamus – Ola Wagstrom Dank Boija – Gvidas Kazlauskas – Franz Cooper Tony Pepperoni – Donnie Dicks – David Fantobens Marc Palicka – Vladimir Vaskov – Dank Boija Chuck Crutchfield – Tig Murphy Poopity Scoop – Wolfhard Richter Aaron Freakin Rome – Jimmy Cahill Cedric Robinson Okay so as a former coach this is how I’d break down my lineup to beat Colorado in round 2. The second line was the most efficient line in the game during that first round, and you keep them together. But you give them more responsibility, put them up against Angello, Jacobs, and Selich in Colorado. That first line Detroit wins out, out chancing Colorado. Second and third line get a shake up, pairing a scorer like Boija and Cooper in the slot and in the dot with Kazlauskas feeding them. After that you have a good second line, led by veteran Pepperoni. This line is defensively responsible with Pepperoni and Fantobens taking up the two way game, making sure that third line can be used to shut down Colorado’s top lines in important points in the game. With good line matching the offense works well The defense is catered to pair scorers and passers together. That is why you switch Scoop and Murphy for each other and play these pairing similar minutes. Crutch is a workhorse back there and either Murphy or Scoop are good options as they can keep up. The most important part to this is making the defense more efficient offensively. Detroit lost because they couldn’t get points from their D (Tig with the most at 3, the rest were their lowest scorers) Robinson stays in net obviously

TASK 1:
Getting to the finals is a tough road, but the Winnipeg Jets are loaded with great veterans with many years of playoff experience under their belts, and Zach Evans is one of the most experienced and well-known of those players. Evans was a huge asset to the team on their road to the finals, and on their way to winning the finals, as he tallied a team leading 19 points in 18 games, and being a key playmaker as 15 of those points came in the form of assists. Along with his assists, he was a massive asset to the Jets as he played 43 penalty kill minutes as the Jets had an incredible 88% penalty kill. He also was a key member of a very good powerplay unit as he tallied four assists on the man advantage which was tied for the lead for the team during the playoffs. TASK 3: Mikhail Lokitonov has done quite a bit in his young career, including two Four Star Cups and winning the Richan Trophy as a sophomore in the SHL, but coming into the S44 season, he had never made the SHL playoffs since being called up to the North Stars in S41. With many of his fellow S39 draftees on the team, this was a team with a lot of young talent and veteran experience in Chris York, Zander Rhys, and the newly added Jonathan Lundberg. This was the make or break year for the team in many people's minds as they struggled to really make an impact in previous seasons, but the North Stars came and were led by the wily veteran in Michael McFadden, as he had a season for the ages as he had the highest save percentage since S5, almost 40 seasons ago. The North Stars finally managed to break the drought and finished first in the Eastern conference. Task 4: Sent Task 7: Task Any: NSFL PT

Isak had an interesting season! He had some achievements he was proud of - second in the league in Shots Blocked (a career high 95), a career high 12 goals and 36 points, an actual fight that he actually won - all while playing only 49 games. But most interestingly, he got to experience being traded for the first time, from the Minnesota Chiefs to the San Francisco Pride. Isak had played with the Chiefs since one season after they drafted him, and his agent had never had to facilitate a player trade before. But he was very excited to move to San Francisco and get to know his teammates and the city, and while they didn't make the playoffs this season he's very excited about the future of the team who should come out swinging at the start of next season. The Pride have a great locker room, and Isak has definitely felt at home there since the trade. He spent the second half of the season settling in, and now is looking forward to what comes next. TASK 4: PMed TASK 5: TASK 7 Task 8: 3. Between Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev which star goalie has the advantage over the other in this series? Of any two goalies in the league, Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev are one of the hardest pair to pick a tactical advantage between. The two are similarly strong on the ice (both mid-1200s TPE) and their season stats are remarkably similar - in 44 games apiece they had the same SV % (0.910) and extremely similar GAAs (2.64 for Biscuit and 2.66 for Zhumbayev). But in the end, it was Zhumbayev who was able to elevate his game during this season's playoffs and bring the cup to Winnipeg. 4. Choose 1 young player from each team (either on their roster or a prospect of theirs) who you believe will be there teams next great player and why? Each team playing in the finals has a Season 43 drafted rookie who looks like they could be the next young star on their team. Winnipeg has Lil Manious, and the winger comes from hockey royalty - he just has to live up to the expectations set by his predecessors and he'll be a star in the league. On the Platoon, young defensemen Rex Kirkby is less well known, but is training hard, and showed up strong in the playoffs with 7 points in 18 games. Currently Manious has the slight edge between the two in terms of maturity, but they're both extremely young and growing fast. 5. You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why? I would definitely take the trip to West Kendall over the trip to Winnipeg. I'd love to visit Winnipeg some day, but the airfare to Florida is always cheaper than flying internationally, and during hockey season I'm going to choose a getaway to the beach over a trip to an even more snow-covered wasteland. Catch the championship game and some sun? Ideal.

Choose one team in the series and talk about the steps they took to make the finals. Was it a free agent signing, or an MVP player, or trades, etc. Must be 150 words… West Kendall Platoon is the team that I chose. Why? because 3 words is longer than two. And this will help me reach 150 words at a faster rate, ever so slightly. Okay so, to begin with West Kendall Platoon started off being a powerhouse of a team, but after adding a few additions it really gave depth to West Kendalls team overall. They drafted Cameron Dubois from the New England Wolf Pack which really added to the defence of this team as well as star player Dani Forsberg. However another component that contributed to West Kendall Platoon Making the finals in the first place was due to the fact that they didn't trade defensemen Ludwig Koch Schroder who was another great defensemen and all-round player. That being said with a mix of great drafts such as Dubois and Forsber, and not losing great powerhouses like Ludwig Koch Strider. It simply added to the already high success rate Platoon was bringing to the table. Words: 164 TASK 2: (Graphic, 3 TPE) Create a SHL Challenge Cup viewing party invitation! My top highlight of the season playing in the SMJHL would have to be getting my first hat trick in one of the most important games of the season. Day 94 Game 195 Anchorage Armada vs the Kelowna Knights. This was the game that determined whether or not we would make it to the playoffs this season. And we were really fighting for this spot. Xena, managed to score 2 goals in the second period. Followed by another goal in the 3rd getting that Hat trick. And with the cherry on top of the sundae, ends the third period with the final game winning goal bringing Armada to an 8 – 2 Win, and securing our spot in the playoffs. Not only was it cool scoring my first hattie of my career but half the goals were made by Xena, and it just so happened to be one of the biggest games of her career. TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE) Choose one team in the series and talk about the steps they took to make the finals. Was it a free agent signing, or an MVP player, or trades, etc. Must be 150 words. West Kendall made the finals because they are one of the deeper teams in the league right now and they are going to come at you with 3 lines for 60 minutes and it is really hard to defend on a regular basis they had 10 30 point scorers this season and is a huge reason why they were able to get to finals. It wasn't because of that scrub @bojo who does nothing all day, I actually think they need to get a better goalie to win it all,, and I think he does the team a disservice and its honestly sad. They also have light and Forsberg leading their forwards and those 2 are some of the most talented duos in the SHL. They really didn't do a lot of moves to get better in recent just keep the same thing going season to season. They are a good team and they got a shot to win it. 160 words Code: TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE) In 150 words or more write about the top highlight of your season. whether it be your first goal, your first hat trick, first shutout, clinching playoffs, getting a career-high in something, etc. Must be hockey related. I have happy with what I was able to accomplish this season for milestones and I hope I can improve on my season as I had one of my worst offensive seasons in a long time and I hope I can maybe start producing better numbers for my team. I am also happy about that we are keeping this playoff streak alive for Hamilton. He needs to be the star in the dark and carry this team past the Platoon in the 1st round or its going to keep on being the same story every season of Hamilton losing in the 1st round. Singh had a great season this season and he spent most of his time playing with langabeer this season and I think we should've kept that duo together. Odjick and Skillstedt are two big power forwards that can score and produce offense at a steady rate and are the teams two best wingers. I think if Hamilton was able to use their best players as their best players and instead of trying to go towards a 3 line attack they would have yield better results in the post-season where your star players gotta be the star players. Light and Forsberg is one of the best forward duos in the league for the Platoon. Those three would be nuts together imo. LKS and Weber are two highly touted defenders that are hard working and I think are super hard to play against. Zhumbayev is an athletic goalie in the league. 3. Between Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev which star goalie has the advantage over the other in this series? Artom Zhumbayev is better than Beaujeaux Biscuit plain and simple. Bojo stinks and probably should retire and he wouldn't be a good goalie if he played on a bad team but he plays for the platoon. I feel like Zhumbayev is one of the most athletic goalies in the league and @bojo is a goalie that just sits on his head all game and doesn't pay attention to the game. 5. You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why? The defending champs West Kendall Platoon have one of the premier players on their team in forward Dani Forsberg. In the regular season ended he was 2nd in goals on his team with 22 goals and lead the team in points with 53. He produced over a point per game. He is well liked and respected by not only his team but the rest of the league as well. Year in and year out he produces offensively, while helping out in the defensive zone as well when needed. Every championship team needs elite two-way forwards that can help in the scoring column. In 12 games leading up to the final championship round, Forsberg scored 9 goals, and helping in another 5 with assists for a total of 14 points. While putting up that respectable point total he also had a +3 rating on the ice so he showed he helped keep the opposition from scoring. Clearly the Platoons knew what they were doing back in season 43 when they traded for Forsberg. (172 words)TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE)
Going into this most recent year playing for the Halifax Raiders of the SMJHL, I knew my time was coming to an end, I did not know how soon I would get the call up, whether it be at the end of the year or at next years end. I was tied for 4th in goals on my team with 11, tied for 7th on my team in assists with 15, and tied for 6th in total points with 26. I was just over a PPG player as a defenseman which I think is a success. But even with putting up goals and consistently seeing my name on the scoring sheet the biggest thing i'm proud of this past year is being called the Captain of the Halifax Raiders. I was honored to be named the captain and it was a big confidence booster knowing that the rest of the team had my back and they all knew I had theirs. Unfortunately I failed to lead the team to the playoffs and in the offseason I talked to both GM's who had my rights and we've come to the agreement that it would be best for me and my development to enter the SHL as a member of the Manhattan Rage. He was not well known when he was drafted 42nd overall in the 6th round of the season 42 SMJHL early entry draft, yet he shot up the draft rankings with his exceptional defensive play. The Winnipeg Jets took many steps to make it back to the finals for a second straight season. First of all, they made a big splash in free agency signing star defensemen Sptitfire, and hiring the excellent Storm as a coach! All season coach Storm continued to learn our players and systems, constantly tweaking the lines until the team caught fire and went on a tear going into the playoffs. In the playoffs the Winnipeg Jets had star players like Zach Evans and Kyle Kylrad really stepping up, and getting them wins. This combined with the new strategies from Storm led to lots of success, as the Jets got it done in game 6 every round. I'm still 40 words short here some I'm gonna talk about Gary Grease, Gary Grease was pretty bad all playoffs until before the finals I changed his weight from 356lbs to 226lbs. He then had 5 points in 6 games which made a big difference to make it past the WKP. The Winnipeg Jets undoubtedly have had a strong team the last few seasons. However, this season, they had Zach Evans really turn his game up, and doing so easily became the MVP of playoffs. I mean, without Zach Evans I don't think Winnipeg go to playoffs. In eighteen games, Evans had 19 points. Four goals, fifteen assists, and a plus/minus of +7. Evans was out there doing what he needed to do to get the puck to his teammates. I mean, the poor kid was brutalized during his entire playoff run, taking a total of 40 hits from opponents. Yet he still fought through it, saucing beauty passes that would put your grandma's sauce recipe to shame. On the face-off dot, Evans was winning 52.2% of the time. He was a clutch player for the Jets. He may not found the back of the net much himself, but he for sure helped his teammates get that puck past the goalie and this makes Evans easily the MVP of the playoffs for Winnipeg. TASK 2: TASK 3: For most players, one of the first highlights of their career will usually be scoring their first goal or getting their first assist. That isn't quite the case for rookie Sulak O'Hritea, of the Manhattan Rage. No, his top highlight this season was recording the first of likely many fights in his career in the SHL. In a game where Manhattan would lose 5-2 to the Los Angelas Panthers, even though outshooting them 38-24, O'Hritea would have his first professional fight. At 16:09 in the second period, O'Hritea and Mattias Enqvist would engage each other. After a few words from each, they both dropped the gloves and started throwing. "Enqvist had me early in the fight, but after I got a better grip on his collar I was able to start landing better shots on him. The last shot caught him right on the chin and it was enough to drop him. I think the most difficult part of that fight was hoisting him up just to make sure his head didn't hit the ice as he went down. For me though, that fight really let me get comfortable in the league. After that I really stared to throw my weight and body around while on the ice" - Sulak O'Hritea on his fight with Mattias Enqvist TASK 4: Yup TASK 7: Task 8: You joking me right now? Easily West Kendall. It's the end of playoffs, and you're asking if I want to go to some sunny beaches or up in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, where you'll likely just see snow and depression. Least in West Kendall you can hit the beach and be depressed on the beach. Plus you can go to the game wearing your favorite pair of shorts, or kilt. You have not lived until you've gone to a hockey game wearing a kilt.

TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE)
Choose one team in the series and talk about the steps they took to make the finals. Was it a free agent signing, or an MVP player, or trades, etc. Must be 150 words. The Winnipeg Jets, coming off a disappointing playoff run that ended with the Platoon lifting the cup, added Stud Defensemen Spitfire. This addition balanced out the backend of the Winnipeg Jets and managed to solidify the entire team. Spitfire allowed versility in pairings, since Spitfire could play on the first or second pairing, on the left or the right side. It allowed the coaching staff to move players around, giving combination such as Grease-McClure and Spitfire-Weber. Without this addition, the Jets may have had a different outcome this season. Spitfire basically took the spot of Viatcheslav Orlov, who was a serviceable defensemen but was no stud by any standards. Orlov managed 11 points in the run prior, where as Spitfire managed 13, in the same amount of games played. The team matured, and maybe even lost a step via regression, but Spitfire helped lead the Winnipeg Jets to the cup! TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE) In 150 words or more write about the top highlight of your season. whether it be your first goal, your first hat trick, first shutout, clinching playoffs, getting a career high in something, etc. Must be hockey related. Troy McClure III had a great season compared to his Rookie season with with Winnipeg Jets. The highlight that comes to mind would be my first goal as a Winnipeg Jet. Mostly everybody, including a rookie with 150 less tpe then me, had already scored. The monkey was on my back. Scoring wasn't the reason I was drafted, it isn't a big part of my game. I'll block more shots then i'll take every season. But I was up to 88 games played counting the playoffs, without a goal in the SHL. But a big slapshot from the point changed that. It helped me as a player gain a huge bump on confidence, and even with us losing the game, I finally managed to get that goal and concentrate on my game again. Thankfully I am on a team that can carry out the goal scoring and they can depend on me to take the body and block a few shots. TASK 4: (*CASUAL MEMBER SPECIAL* Send answer in PM, 3 TPE) Question: Before the start of the game little tammy threw 4 reese's peanut butter cups on the ice. 2 of them were skated over and crushed! (Ohhh No!!!)... how many peanut butter cups were NOT skated over? ** Note: To receive credit for this task you must send the answer to me by forum PM. Do not post the answer in this thread as you will not get credit... Please make the subject of the PM “CW Special” [Earn up to 3 TPE for this task. 1 TPE for participation, 2 additional TPE for the correct answer] PM SENT TASK 6: (Written, 3 TPE) In an effort to improve the product, the league has asked an outside source to look over the playoff lineups and determine which teams could have performed better.. Come up with a new set of lines for one of the teams eliminated in the playoffs, and explain why you made the choices you did. Must be at least 150 words. While they had an amazing run, the platoon may have won the cup back to back if they made the following changes. 1.) The top line is fine, but change the ice time % from 40 to 35. Our research shows that towards the end of the periods they are getting short shifted due to fatigue. 2.) Leave the second line alone. 3.) Give the 3rd line a 5% bump, from 20 to 25. Change the strategy to 2-2-1. 4.) The defensive pairings, switch Ross and Kirby. 5.) Change the top pairing to 1-3-1. Research indicates that throwing hits causes issues for the top line on the other team. 6.) Leave this line alone 7.) Change the strategy to 4-0-1. If it moves, you hit it. And hit it hard. 8.) Bottom pairing goes 0-0-5 to match the bottom line strategy. These changes would force the opposite team to basically score only in transition. Ot would slow the game down with a lot more icings but force the other team to skate more and get hit more. Code: Task 8: (Written, 3 TPE) Pick up to 3 topics below to write about! Each topic is worth '1' TPE. Each answer must be 50 words or more. 2. Which GM in the finals do you believe has the tactical/Managerial advantage and why? Flappy has like 6 coaches and at least 12 different friends that helps him adjust his lines. He ran so many test sims that it was amazing he could even remember the changes. He would run funny 5-0-0s or 0-0-5s. But in the end he would line match very well and it gives him an advantage. Last playoff it didn't work out, but this one it did so it is very close. 3. Between Beaujeaux Biscuit and Artom Zhumbayev which star goalie has the advantage over the other in this series? Being teammates with Zhumbayev, I want to say him, but only a complete fool bets against Biscuit. Biscuit is the best goalie in the league, and while Big Z is very good, biscuit is technically better. With that being said, Biscuit is also starting to regress, as they couldn't carry the platoon this year like last year. 5. You want to buy tickets, hotel stay and airfair for one of the games in this series and you have to decide between a trip to West Kendall or Winnipeg.. what city did you choose and why? While the Jets made West Kendall it's second home stadium this year, the atompshere in Winnipeg is unmatched. It isn't a big arena, but it is the loudest one by far. I'd rather sit in a Jets game then a platoon game anyday. The jets have better fans, a better arena and a better team. Also snow is better then old people. Task 9: (Graphic, 3 TPE) Theres a tattoo parlor right outside of the arena offering 50% off all challenge cup related tats and they need your help! Make a tattoo of a player in the finals with their name underneath it and add it somewhere on the customers body. post of a pic of the results! Task 1: Cameron Dubois isn't exactly a star trade in any sense of the word as Dubois announced his retirement at the end of the season prior to last season. On a rebuilding Wolfpack team originally, Dubois was a clear trade candidate as an older defenseman who can still make plays and be a useful piece for a team that's close to a cup. Eventually Dubois was traded, and was sent to the West Kendall Platoon to help their 3rd line defense. While Dubois wasn't a star player in his prime at the time of the trade, he still had a good amount left in the tank and was able to rack up 7 assists for the Platoon in the playoffs. Add in a +5 and 15 shot blocks for the retiring defender, and you saw a player who was a bit more under the radar but still an extremely useful piece for the team that eventually lost in the Challenge Cup Finals in game 7. (164 words) Task 3: While it wasn't necessarily a flashy achievement or milestone, for Berger one of the biggest achievements comes from having his highest faceoff win percentage since coming up to the SHL. Berger has always aspired to be a top center in the league, and after breaking out onto the scene a season prior with 48 goals you would think he'd be on top of the world proclaiming himself as a top center in the league. Well, there was one glaring stat that he did not like, having a 46.14 faceoff percentage in season 43, Berger did not like that he was pretty bad when going for the puck to start an offensive drive, and possibly putting his team in a bad position because he couldn't reliably win the puck for them. Well, that changed this season, after working on his faceoff skills in the offseason Berger saw his faceoff skills skyrocket, up to 52.71%. Berger was ecstatic about this development, as his hard work paid off and being able to help his team start drives and get off their side of the ice reliably is a huge boon to the team and helps them create more scoring chances. Now the next goal is putting it all together and having both a high point total season and faceoff percentage season, and hopefully the playoffs too. (223 words) Task 4: Messaged Task 8: Prompt 1: My first choice for an all Challenge cup team would be Jason Visser, C. I put him as the team's center because of his ability to assist his teammates and make the other team pay with hits. He also fields an insane faceoff percentage with 56.72% won. Next I have Dani Forsberg for the team's left wing. With over a point per game it's an easy choice, and 234 hits makes it even easier, although the penalty minutes are a bit concerning. For the final forward, at right wing, I put Maurizio Arrivabene. Unlike the other two he's not gonna hit you, but what he will do is be a power play monster racking up goals and assists, giving you a lethal power play when combined with Forsberg and Visser. My first defender would be Ludwig Koch Schroder, who amassed 85 shots blocked for his team, providing a lot of defense in front of his goalie, while being a capable contributor to his team's scoring total. Finally, for my second defender I have Max Weber, who had 42 goals, a 26 +/-, which is insane, and still had plenty of blocked shots with 72 total. Finally, for the goalie it doesn't really matter as their stats in the regular season were pretty much identical, so I'll slot Artom Zhumbayev here, although either one is an extremely capable goaltender, especially with a team like this in front of them. (237 words) Prompt 3: Looking at the goalies I honestly couldn't tell you who has the advantage.Their stats are so similar it's hard to discern who would be better suited off of their stats alone. However, looking at their team's stats it looks like Artom Zhumbayev has the advantage as the team he protects the net for seems to be of higher talent and can bail him out more often if he has a bad game. Winnipeg as a whole looks like a fantastic unit where they have 7 members of the team with 40+ points on the season. The advantage goes the way of Zhumbayev because of the team around him, and having a team like that is a fantastic thing for a goalie, even if he is one of the best goalies in the league. (133 words) Prompt 5: If I were going to go to a Challenge Cup game I'd prefer to go to Winnipeg. Winnipeg has always seemed to be more of a hockey city to me, a Canadian city with playoff hockey feels like an experience that would be something I've never seen before. While I'm sure West Kendall will rally behind their team, It seems like Winnipeg can't really be matched by many teams in the league. (72 words) |
