On a day normally reserved for the usual working out and preparing for the grind of a SMJHL season, Kasperi Braulin has changed things up a bit. Instead of waking up and heading to the gym for 7:30 am, he’s already at the airport waiting. With the draft only twelve hours away, he was on a plane to the league headquarters where the draft would be hosted. Getting to the hotel a bit early, he heads to room to ponder Bosnian future. Where will he end up? A few teams in the league have clear openings at the backup spot. Halifax, Kelowna, and Vancouver have been stated as the best fit for the young goalie. But he’s got some competition at the position. Biz Nasty and Alexander Thorstorm are nearly identical in their total points earned. This could turn out to be a highly regarded draft class for netminders.

One thing is for sure, Braulin is ready to take the first step in what should prove to be a long and successful SHL career. No matter where he ends up. He’s a goalie who has succeeded his whole career and is likely to do the same at the SMJHL level and SHL. Constantly improving, it should be clear to all General managers that he has what it takes to be the best.

When asked what he’d tell a general manager who asked what he’d bring to the table he just had this to say, “Draft me. You won’t be disappointed. I come to play every night and am going to be the best there is one day. I can either play for you or against you. Make the right choice tonight”.
