Show: Heart Of A Champion
Time Slot: 4:00-5:00pm
Length: 1 hour
Premise: Throughout the 47 (and a half) seasons of the S(MJ)HL, there's been plenty of winners from both an individual and team standpoint, but what does it really take to get your name in the history books? For an hour, @SpartanGibbles, @Segi, and I, who know a thing or two about winning, will document and highlight instances of Hall Of Famers' on-ice successes, feats, and great moments, and what each great player, coach, GM, or team had to do to get themselves to become the well-respected name they are. Their impact has helped in created the SHL to be what we know it as today. That said, current players might take note of it, motivating themselves to work harder, stay in touch with their preceding counterpart, and improving their games in the process to one day be HOFers themselves.

My show idea is called "Where are they know?"
The show would be looking at the first two or three round of each SMJHL draft to see where these players end up. A couple of analyst would look up the careers of the players and seeing what they are up to in the SHL (assuming they are). Every episode is dedicated to one draft. The analysts would look what teams the players played for and would go over their stats quickly. They would then grade them out of 10 and explain why the player deserves that grade, 10 being given to a player that did better than expected, 5 being on par with the expectations, and 0 being totally worse than what every one thought they would be. At the end, the analysts would redo the draft and discuss their first rounders. Finally, they would determine their top 3 busts and top 3 steals from each draft.
It would be a show that airs during the morning at about 10:00 and it would last to at least 2 hours

For the new SHL original show I propose a spin off of Spittin Chiclets but as a TV show and not a podcast. Have it hosted by guys like Daniel Merica and Cole Reinhart @teztify as they talk to other past and current SHL players about their lives and playing careers. I think this would be a positive development in marketing the SHLs superstars as most of the fans don't really get to know the guys outside of their play on the ice and he cliched interviews given after games. The show would run once a week and feature two guests across the first thirty and last thirty minute steps of each episode. There's a lot of potential for spinoffs of this show as well, for example they could revert back to the podcast version, do mobile shows around the country as they travel from rink to rink or they could add guests hosts every week. This show could be the gift that keeps on giving for the SHL owner group.
There is only one show I can think of that would bring all the viewers to the yard.
The Simulation Hockey League Banana Show!
Sound silly to you? Well let's take a look. The Banana has been a major staple of the SHL for the last two goddamn decades, from the Hall of Famer Chernika Banananov of Russia to the middling and completely forgetful Blåbär Bananerström of Sweden. With Banananak of The Czech Republic there is another dynasty of bananas coming, and someone needs to talk about it. The people are craving it super hard. And yes, this would be only focusing on any player in the SHL who had the word Banana in their name. What they are doing and what they used to do while they are in the SHL. So we would follow Chernika Banananov working on the farm in Canada and Blåbär Bananerström fucking off to "I didn't even matter" island. I mean people would watch that, right? Well if they wouldn't we would have the headliner Borůvka Banananák and his road to the SHL and the eventual Challenge Cup that he will win (multiple times, I might add). If there is any other show that would be more popular, please let me know because I don't think it exists.
For the Simulation Hockey League’s brand new tv station, the Barracuda Bay will be slotting into the late evening time slot. It can get around 7 or 8 PM and will feature two absolute lunatics rambling about random shit that barely makes sense. Featuring myself and @Noble this show will include stuff like Noble getting drunk and pounding back cheese buns after not eating for 14 hours, and then I’ll tell him he’s an idiot and to eat more food. It can also include the time we talked about what makes a street block a block, and how many blocks there are between our houses. It can also include us laughing at a picture of a man deadlifting a massive rock because Noble thought it was a potato. Honestly just think of the stupidest thing you can think of and we’ll probably cover it. This will take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour. It’s a real good show that totally isn’t garbage. And these are actual topics from our podcast, go listen to it.
The SHL Showdown is a competition where former SHL pro players and current SHL players compete against each other. The Pros and former pros are devided in to groups of 4, 2 current and 2 former. These groups are then placed in a bracket with 16 total teams. Each stage presents the same challenge for every group and the winner moves on ti the next stage with a set of new challenges. Every stage will have 5 challenges that will have to be completet on time as fast as possibel, 4 of the challenges will have to be completed by a singel member if the team and a player may only complete one individual challenge per stage. The 5th is a group challenge. The challenges can be anything from underwater diving to mental challenges. In the finals there is just a group task, the 2 team will be dropped of in the middle of nowhere and have to navigate to a place where a puzzle will have to be solved.
Coming to the SHL network this fall is the Hot Potato Show featuring its host and hot potato commissioner @bbjygm. The Hot Potato Show will air after every Hot Potato Game, which means every game, the current Hot Potato played in. The show will feature every players who at one point in the Hot Potato Game has been the Hot Potato and will make them relive the scene in which they have become the Hot Potato. Each guest on the Hot Potato Show will have to go through different challenges. The challenges get harder and more demeaning the more times a certain player has been a guest of the Hot Potato Show. They start out with some workout tasks and some challenges that make you look like a fool on camera, like saying tongue twisters or doing maths in your head. Towards the end, repeating Hot Potatoes will have to go back out on the ice wearing silly costumes or will be asked to fulfill wishes of some fans. At the end of the season, the Hottest Potatoe will have to do a series of fan challenges for charity.
Welcome to the SHL’s version of Whose Line Is It Anyway!? In this game, we have a random member of the league on our show and we ask them a series of questions about game situations, analytics and possession metrics. Based upon the data that is provided, you must answer at least two of the three forwards that are on the ice for this shift. Essentially, you have to determine whose line is out there!
Each contestant will have a 10 minute time slot to be as successful as they can and to collect as much money for the charity of their choosing. There are three slots per episode, with a runtime of 30 minutes per show. The show airs at 3:30 PM ET every weekday on the SHL Network. If you’re interested in participating in Whose Line Is It Anyway, please send 5-10 DMs directly to Mike Izzy on Discord for consideration.
A day in the Life:
Basically you follow a team around and film a day in many of the player's and Coach's lives. Shows the personality of the SHL because, lets face it, we have so many characters here on these boards and amazing writers too. Diving into the personal lives, the quirks, training, games, practices, All of it. So many ideas one could actually make a series of articles on it and interview people on the site about it.
Odd SHL:
Basically stealing Weird NHL as an idea and slapping in a new name, just collecting all the odd, weird, or crazy things that happen on the ice from own goals to twirling baton refs pucks stuck in weird places or bobbling into a goaltender's equipment. just a way to be lively for all of the SHL in a more positive light, rather than all the drama and thunderdomes.
Show: Petr Mikulak Hour
Timeslot: 1AM - 2AM (Often replaced by infomercials instead)
Rating 1/10
Basically the show lays down the deets about Petr Mikulak, the former Vancouver Whaler, current Professional hockey play, and leader in rookie scoring*. In the show Mikulak often shows off his odd collections of items he has bought with his salary instead of equipment or training (what a naughty lad!). Several guests appear on the show, many just simply there to insult Mikulak and lecture him about spending his money wisely. Every episode ends with a 15 minute segment of Mikulak talking about the good old days as if he were a washed up old man instead of what he actually is: a washed up young man. Though there appears to be an underlying story element to the show, it is nearly impossible to follow and builds off of a concept that makes no sense. In conclusion expect the show to get horrible ratings and pan, only to be known by die hard Platoon fans and lovers of the worst television known to man.
The Intermissions can be very boring for the TV viewers and usually is when they channel gets changed and no one wants to watch the long repetitive commercials. INstead the SHL can pick a feature player every game and do a 10-15 minute slot on how they go about their day on game night or just a day off. This gives the fans an inside look at these players day to day lives and can probably get some more fan engagment with the players. To compensate for the lost advertizing slots you could easilly run banner ads around the screen to help offset some of the cost you lose from advertising, alas I still believe that this can help fans link themselves to new players and give them even more to lookup to. we can see players pre game meals, their supersitsions, and see a side we dont get to see on the ice.

For my SHL Network show, I am proposing at weekly show where two teams pick a few players to compete in a mini skills contest. It would only be a half hour show, but the plan would be for three segments per show for a challenge for two SHL players to compete to show who's team is the most skilled. With a huge amount of different skills to show off, I am sure we can come up with three unique competitions a week ranging from hardest shot to sick dangles. With a weekly show we can just pit teams that are playing that week against each other to add a little fun to a road trip for one team and give the players a chance to show off their personalities away from the games. A great matchup for this series would be pitting Alexis Metzler @Avakael vs Isak Odegard @prettyburn in a hardest shot contest as they are two of the league's best pointmen and a chance to see them really ripping them on net would be a great.

The SHL show that I would want to produce would be called Serpe and Friends. The set would consist of myself, slash, Fuzz, and a random Specters guest every week. We would discuss the previous week of SHL news and rumors; during the draft time we would do a mock draft and during the season we would talk about box scores and league trades. This show will take place in the New Orleans training facility right in front of the big Specters logo when you walk in. I have picked the members of this podcast to be my fellow team mates in the SHL because they are great people and have great personalities. The time slot of the show will be Tuesday nights at 7”30 pm central standard time. The length of the show will vary from week to week but it will normally go for about an hour and a half to two hours.
