A Ninja in San Francisco - Draft Week
#1

Yoshimitsu sat on his living room's couch, reading a book. One would imagine that a player without much to do following both poor performances at the SHL and the IIHF would be frustrated, but Yoshi took such a thing in stride. He'd train for half of the day but he usually had enough time to enjoy the good things in life, like...

"Yoshi!" Omelette yelled, crossing her arms afterwards while throwing a fit on the other end of the couch. "Can't you play seriously against me?" The girl had a videogame controller on her lap. Yoshi's controller was to his side, laying peacefully on the arm of the couch. In front of them, the television that the girl had built from the ground up had a videogame console plugged to it. The screen displayed the character the Irish Ninja had picked, an old, frail-looking master that was probably Chinese standing rather proudly as Omelette's character, a buxom female ninja laid down, having been knocked out by a special move. Yoshi lowered the book, revealing that he wasn't wearing a mask again. By now, the girl was used to his scarred face. "Don't give me that look! How do you beat me every time?" He snickered, closing the book. "It's an ancient Irish ninja secret." She pouted, causing the ninja to chuckle at the sight, rubbing her left cheek, who by now was puffed out. "And making yourself look cute isn't going to make me any more likely to tell you said Irish ninja secret, so don't try that."

While the Swiss agent picked her composure back up, Kunimitsu darted from another room. "Yoshi, Omelette! I got great news!" The two looked at the girl, who by now probably had a smile... though one couldn't really tell, the fox mask she wore kept her face pretty much hidden all the time. "I was looking at the Internet today and... well, you know how we're always low on money, right?" Yoshimitsu looked at Omelette, the girl groaning. "...What? Ninjas are loyal to their masters, regardless of funds." While Omelette facepalmed, Kunimitsu hopped over the two, landing in the middle of the couch with her phone on her hands. "See, if you predict the entire first two rounds of the draft, you'll win a money prize from these guys!" The two more mature members of the family looked into the screen, Omelette raising an eyebrow. "toptpe.com? Odd website, never heard of them. Anyway, that's pretty tough. They get all sorts of analysts to try and predict the draft, don't think anyone ever did it. We'd have an easier shot trying to predict the IHL Draft-"

The two ninjas darted out of the room, running to the part of the house with the computer, dead set on figuring out the SHL Draft...

(...)

...only to find out Omelette was pretty much accurate on her comment. The SHL Draft was really hard to predict.
The Draft came and went. The results were pretty terrible.

Kunimitsu stared at the screen, looking at the results. Omelette passed behind the two, almost spitting a glass of tea. "We... we got everything wrong!?" Kunimitsu lowered her head, looking at the floor. The two had waited patiently for the past two days for the draft and once it was all done, they were surprised. Yoshimitsu patted his sister's head, sighing. "Don't worry, sister. I'm sure we'll find another way to make money quick." Omelette did, however, stop behind the two, thinking for a second. "Say, Yoshi... Don't they have an award for the funniest selections? Like, the one that got the most things wrong?"

The McClouds looked at each other, laughing loudly. They would get something after all, even if it was a consolation prize.
