New Year!

It's a new year in many places already soon to be everywhere, it's a new decade in fact! here's to hoping for many great things. SHL hockey players are having massive celebrations, lots of players are partying hard and the playoffs are on, it's an exciting time! 2020 is already looking good, better than 2019 to my eyes. Many players plan to watch the ball drop in Times Square, the European players are about to usher in the new year in their countries with their own customs and traditions. There's champagne ready and some NHL games to watch tonight, so it's bound to be a night full of excitement and bonding.
Many players are making resolutions, most of which involve training and practicing, or their own stat lines, making some milestone, or for us junior players getting called up to the pros. It'll be amazing if people's resolutions make it past January because they never do, especially ones about diets or working out. People who have reoslutions about winning the Four Star Cup just might get it though because that's coming up and it'll be exciting to see who wins. Whoever wins will be the first champs of 2020, and can never be replaced there even though the Cup itself will be passed on. Not just the first champs of 2020, the first champs of this new decade. And of course it's cold and snowy this New Year's day, it feels like winter and holidays and all the good things of the season. It's been a good Christmas, a quiet Christmas. People got lots of gifts. Henrik Lundqvist Jr. got lots of video games which made him super happy he loves gaming and he also got some anime t-shirts which was great he likes wearing those a lot. A lot of his friends got a Nintendo Switch it seems like a common gift right now and he has seen this posted a lot on social media too. Probably a common trend in SHL as well. What's wrong with players gaming with intensity in their down time and the time between games, or on the long bus rides to the other hockey team's arenas? It gives something to do and is quite addicting. Maybe it even helps on the ice with hand eye coordination and like reaction time. Anyhow get the toasts ready and settle down, it's gonna be a fun night tonight. It's a time of a new era for SHL and for all of its players to make changes, to turn over a new leaf for the new year. The hype is real, it's off the charts and it's about to get crazy. If anyone knows how to throw a party, to have a good time, and to raid food it's hockey players, we got this. We can make this a night to remember, one that will go down in the SHL history books and one that will welcome in a great next 12 months. Happy New Year everyone! |
