After missing the medal rounds in the last game 2 seasons in a row, this should be the year, when we can really start attacking. We have managed to add some quality players to our roster and the rest has been developing very well.

Before I come to the roster announcement, I'd like to thank @MyLittleHexx and @Good_Ole_Kimmy, who will not play for team Switzerland in the S51 tournament anymore. Sulak O'Hritea has retired from hockey after struggling to find another roster spot in the SHL. Noah Andros unfortunately turned out to not being able to live up to his potential and has been surpassed by other Swiss players.

The rookies:

Cal Labovitch - RW - @Mutedfaith The young winger has proven his great potential in his SMJHL rookie season with the Detroit Falcons and he is currently one of the top prospects in the upcoming SHL draft. Labovitch is a great promise for the future of the Swiss team.

Riley Kuse - C - @BuckeyeKeese The second Swiss prospect in the upcoming SHL draft. Kuse is not as highly ranked as Labovitch and the next season will show if he has a future in the SHL or if he will go back to play in Europe. But the potential is there and he is good enough for a spot on the fourth line.

Noah Tedla - D - @tedlamotors Certainly the transfer that will make the biggest impact in the last couple of seasons. Tedla is already a top 4 defenseman in the SHL and he will be a great addition for the Swiss defensive core, who has been a bit of a weakness of the team in recent seasons.

Danila Zhernov - D - @iOBESE The other transfer of the season and not any less promising than Tedla. Danila Zhernov won't have immediate impact, but he can replace an inactive defenseman and he will be a big part of the team once he joins the SHL. The Blizzard prospect has also shown a great SMJHL season with the Kelowna Knights that only ended in game 7 of the Four Star Cup finals.

The captains

Lallo Selman - LW - @BDonini For the second season in a row, Selman will be captain of the Swiss team. This should be to no ones surprise since he is both one of the best players on the ice as well as one of the locker room leaders. Selman has the potential to be one of the stars for this team. Not just in this season, but in the next couple as well.

Daniel Bischoff - C - @dylanjj37 The fresh Four Star Cup champion is hungry for more. Bischoff has shown a great season with the Armada and has managed to become the top scorer in the SMJHL. Next season, we will most likely see him play in Minnesota in the SHL, but before then, we can see him in action in the IIHF and WJC tournaments. Bischoff is an important piece of the puzzle for the future of team Switzerland.

Mathias Seger - D - @Segi One of the oldest players on the team and not up to his full potential yet. Mathias Seger will once again lead the Swiss defense, which this year should be considerably stronger than in the past. He is coming from a very disappointing season in Minnesota and has something to prove in the international tournament to end the season on a positive note.

The goalies

Tibuk Soonika - G - @chetib The back bone of this team. Soonika has been a number 1 goalie in the SHL for more than a season now and has helped the Chicago Syndicate into the playoffs. In the IIHF he has also shown some great performances in the past and he will once again be one of the most important players for Switzerland this season.

Markus Tegernako - G - @KlusteR One of the best goalies in the SMJHL and most likely the starter for the Minnesota Chiefs in S52 of the SHL. Switzerland will have the luxury of having 2 great goalies in the future. For now, Tegernako is still the clear number 2 behind Soonika, but soon enough, he will catch up to him.

The defense

FR Finn-Rhys - D - @FinnRhys Currently still playing in the Challenge Cup finals, he will certainly be a player who hasn't lost his rythm once the IIHF starts. Finn-Rhys is a very important part of the Swiss top 4 and we are certain to see a lot of him.

Daniel Kuster - D - @kuschy The Toronto North Stars prospect will play one more season in the SMJHL with the Raptors. He will join the Swiss team for the IIHF tournament for the third time and he has continued to improve greatly over this time. For now, he stays a decent depth player, but we can certainly expect to see more of Kuster in the future.

Ursin Zimmermann - D - @UrsinZ What can I say? Pretty much everything there is to say for Kuster, one can also say for Zimmermann. Their development has been pretty much identical and the only difference between the two players is their SMJHL team. That also means that at most one of the two will be able to win a Four Star Cup before joining the Toronto North Stars in the SHL.

The centers

Slap McShotty - C - @bbjygm Slap McShotty has been the top Center of the Swiss team for the past couple of seasons. His game in the SHL is also on a very high level, with the New England Wolfpack. Once more we can expect to see him a lot out on the ice leading the first line.

Ty Hoover - C - @Hoovuh Probably on his last season playing in the IIHF, Ty Hoover is looking to end his international career on a high note. In the SHL he has been passed around quite a bit in the last couple of seasons, just to end up with the tanking Chiefs.

Luca Veccelli - C - @Symmetrik Veccelli has shown as much promise as Bischoff early in his career, but unfortunately looks to lose that head to head. Still he can be an important piece of the Swiss roster in a couple of seasons and help us win some medals.

Mitchell van der Heijden - C - @bluesfan55 The second fresh Four Star Cup champion of this still young team. Together with Bischoff, van der Heijden has had his taste for success this season. After falling unexpectedly far in his SHL draft last season, he has something to prove to the SHL. Having a young and success hungry center as van der Heijden on the team, will certainly have a great effect on the rest of the team.

The wingers

Nicolaj Muller - LW - @esilverm One of the strongest players on this team. Nicolaj Muller has been playing with the Swiss team since his SMJHL rookie season and has seen some great personal success in past tournaments. He has been and will continue to be one of the most important players for Switzerland.

Elijah Jones - RW - @Toivo Jones was one of the best transfers in the last couple of seasons. He has already proven his worth in the last IIHF and in his first seasons in the SHL with the Los Angeles Panthers. He has the potential to be one of the top scorers of this team and if we want to reach the medal round, we will need to see him scoring some points.

Anthony Archer - LW - @Zach Anthony Archer has not developed quite as well as hoped in the last season, but nevertheless, he will be an important player in the Swiss offensive squad in this season and in the future. He is playing on the Tampa Bay Barracuda in the SHL, which like Switzerland in the IIHF, is one of the most promising young teams in the league.

Ricky Bobby - LW - @ImASurvivor Bobby is one of the most promising youngsters of the team. Since he is still playing in the SMJHL, with the Carolina Kraken, he will be on the lower lines in this season's IIHF, but once he joins the SHL, he will certainly see top 6 minutes on team Switzerland as well.
