S52 Fantasy - SMJHL Edition

We all know and love the SHL Fantasy but those of us that play Little League Hockey don't get to see how we are doing. I wanted to remedy that and planned on working this up for a while, but I'm really lazy. Then @mxman991 does some bs math and makes me angry and I do my best work when trying to prove a point because I'm a vindictive asshole.
So I took the SHL fantasy stats process and ran the SMJHL players through it for scoring. I didn't add in any logic to draft players and all that jazz, just getting the scores. I worked this up initially yesterday but didn't get time to finish it before I left work so I decided I'd actually include Goalies in my stats today. Generally I don't bother b/c no one really cares, but there is a goalie on Anaheim that thinks we actually NEED goalies in order to win, so I thought I'd throw him a bone and include it. I am the captain so I gotta do these selfless things once in a while. So lets get started with the Top 20 of the SMJHL so far: ![]() As we see, Abel Skinner is leading the charts today with his 2 way game showing through and propelling him to the top of the charts. I was hoping that Ivan Maximus might make this list, but I was again disappointed as I'm living down in 40th place. Something something TPE into faceoffs not showing well in this method of scoring something something One interesting note is that our first rookie comes in at 52nd place. That honor goes to Magnus Liljestrom (@roastpuff) And the Goalie Stats by team b/c that's the way Fantasy scores them: ![]() Then if we group by team for a total score (Skaters + Goalies): ![]() Full skater score data here: Code: Player Name Goal Score Assist Score Hit Score Shot Block Score Total Score And I guess we'll add the goalies too: Code: Goalie Name Won Score Shutout Score Saves Total Score This is pretty easy to track now so I'll try to put out an update once a week or so. There is a good chance I forget and don't do it at all, but betting on that is the meta game in here. Interesting math, I don't know if you read how I did my analysis however. My analysis is really just measuring the statistics against the top players in the league. I measure your goals, assists, plus minus, shots, shot percentage, and just because you could be a two way forward, hits and shots blocked. All of these stats are measured in comparison to each other, IE if the most amount of hits that someone has is 55 points, they are a 100 % in that category. All these are measured and averaged to give you an "overall" score. The highest of that combined score is given a 99 because no one is perfect, and everyone else is measured against that player to give their overall in comparison. That doesn't mean it won't drastically change, it just shows you how your player is doing in comparison to the best in the league at the moment in all metrics, not just scoring or assists.

Also, if you remember I was only measuring forwards, or else Abel would have been at the top in mine as well. I plan on releasing a Defense one however.

All good man! I’m just looking for reasons to make media. The SMJHL Daily will now find a way to prove Ivan the worst player in the SMJHL.
