When I first started out in the SHL I came from reddit, like many of the people who came over. It was the summer after my 1st year at college, bored and looking at reddit because of boredom. I Remember looking at that post on reddit and read the whole pitch and was like “this is perfect for me” so I hopped on my laptop and when I put in the address, it failed. Because of the reddit hug of death the website was out for like an hour or so I think. And I refreshed ever 15 minutes or something like that so I can sign up. Like many of us, when it was up I created my character(I think i was one of the first redditors to sign up) and I was going over what I wanted to be I did a playmaker left winger, kind of like Claude Giroux. When I picked up my country I originally picked the USA, but I read the country pitches, and I saw that I could get ice time in Czechoslovakia, so Picked there as my country so that I can get ice time and I thought it was a cool thing to be. I created my player and immediately spent the whole day learning the website, I was hooked. The first and 2nd discord I joined was Czechia Discord and the S43 Discord, and thats what kept me interested in this game that we all love and play. The S43 draft class discord I kinda dont really remember a ton from it. I'm not sure if I talked in there a lot, but the Czechia discord I remember very greatly. I was the first Redditor to join czechia, the last one was BaseScout(aka mark paligma) so he was talking about being picked high or something I dont remember the specifics(though I remember he got real salty when I passed him in TPE). But then people like the kovacs and Alaska, and a few other redditors joined and it was a blast. Cal and Blastmeaway were great Gms of Czechoslovakia at that time and there was a bunch of youth and they recently won the WJC tourney, so it was a ton of fun to be around and to be apart of it.

You know I asked a lot of questions a long the way and still ask questions now about the site that I still dont know, so its always a learning process but I would like to thank them right now for that and to help me learn and grow on the site.

Fast Forward onto the draft I remember watching the stream. I think I was scouted by most teams, none of them really stood out to me tbh, but the feeling of getting scouted was amazing. When I saw other czech players getting drafted before me(Kovacs in the 1st round), Paligma in the 2nd round, Blues and Schultzy getting drafted early, Kravtsov drafted in teh 2nd round,and then Alex Winters getting drafted before me I think I was the last active Czech getting drafted in the last pick of the 4th round to the Vancouver Whalers.Pick #32(4th round best round). It was Glyc who scouted me and drafted me along with adam(I pulled our first convo together so here it is)

But yeah, I asked a lot of questions. And I did say I would be a steal of the draft lol. A lot of memories to look back upon.

So yeah, the season went underway for vancouver and we did pretty good, we lost to Kelowna in the Finals, we got 1st place in the SMJHL, smooth sailing for myself. I had a big bank, a lot of TPE and people messaging me. I remember JY’s interview the most, long, lengthy, and personal. I remember talking to him about Chess, My Calvin and Hobbes logo we talked at length about other stuff I think. And then King and I talked for a while like 3 weeks before the S43 draft about going 1 and 3 and making a super team. I liked SFP, I liked the direction they were going and yeah, I got drafted there 3OA, and we had an amazing draft.

First couple seasons were great in SFP, a good time, I focused on Vancouver a lot, being named Co-GM of Vancouver there was great. We won the 4 star cup my 2nd season there is great, we won it with a lot of great and future SHL players(something like 13/20 players had some sort of SHL career).

Then things kinda didnt work out for SFP, so like a true Free Agent I did a sign and trade to Manhattan, and it was a change for the better. In return SFP got 2 picks, 1 flubbed and 1 looks pretty promising. But yeah, so now the first season I came into MAN was after the S46 draft, where they drafted a couple amazing players that are still on the team. But yeah thats how I got to Manhattan, a couple seasons later I applied to Manhattan Co-GM, i got it and then a couple seasons later im still the co-gm of Manhattan taking on bigger roles in the managerial side of things.

So now im on the round of thanking a bunch of people throughout my season, I wont @ them becasue that would be a lot of work.

I would like to first thank Adam and Glyc for taking me in the SMJHL Draft, and especially Glyc for answering a bunch of my stupid questions.

I would like to thank Drunkenteddy for a lot of things throughout my time on the site.
Also would like to thank the members of Vancouver Whalers S43 Cup Winners as well as the Vancouver Whalers S48 Cup Winners. You guys made it memorable as a player to win the S43 one and even happier when we won it in S48. I would like to thank my Co-GM Infidel for being a great Co-GM. Of course Efiug for his invaluable judgment in Management Chat there. Also thanks to SS22 for helping scouting towards the end, Aaron Wilson for helping me get good lines in S47 and S48 for Vancouver. Thanks to Gray and Sami for their time in Vancouver, even though they are inactive now.

For Czechia of course I would like to thank everyone that is on the team, its a great Country and great Locker Room to be in. Of course Cal and Blastmeaway for being great GMs, Alaska for being a great friend from day 1, and many more people that that make my day everyday.

For Manhattan thanks for everyone that has been on our roster, for people on our roster now thank you for believing in JY’s and I vision of the team. You gusy know how you are important to me.
