[Draft Bonus] Hyping the Rookie 'Crows

It’s been another awesome season in St. Louis. While we always make plans to appear in the Four Star Cup Finals, and winning is always the goal, to get so close to the Cup was still somewhat of a pleasant surprise with as many rookies as we had in important roles. Ahead of the SHL Draft this weekend, I want to take some time to hype up our guys that are up for selection this season. They've really stepped up for the team, and they're great people in general.
Check These Players Out
Erben Kasius – D – Offensive
@Paq
Paq is difficult to describe for me. He’s very quiet, and almost seems to operate behind the scenes, casually doing all of his PTs and PGS opportunities. He’s a high earner and he always has something to say when it matters, but in day-to-day conversation, he seems to prefer to watch the rest of the conversation from afar. It may be that he’s more focused on the retiring Xavier Paquette and Toronto. Still, a user that almost every team may call “—Legend” needs no introduction from me. Eric Hudson – LW – Two-Way
We picked Eric in the 4th Round, and he’s been great. He’s really active, be it discussing the morning’s games or whatever we’re talking about, and is always looking for ways to get better. He’s also really supportive of everybody in general. I look for him to at least wear an “A” for the ‘Crows, if not the “C”, since he’s already an active leader in our group. An excellent addition to any locker room, it’s been awesome having Eric on the team.Krišs Dārziņš – RW – Sniper
The first late addition that St. Louis has made in my time with the team, Kriss is amazing. He brings so much enthusiasm to the locker room and the team, along with an almost infectious optimism. Had he been here for the Draft, he would probably be up there in TPE with Hudson and the other first-gen rookies with high TPE. As it is, he was one of our points leaders in the Playoffs, and carried much of our series against Colorado.Don’t sleep on our Latvian. Alex Reyer – C – Playmaker
I feel like it’s taken Reyer a little bit to open up in our chat, and he’s still rather quiet. It’s great getting to talk to him though. While not up with the high earners, he’s been putting in work very quietly all season and was a key part of our Playoff campaign. His player will be one to watch as he develops.Trevor Johnson – D – Offensive
As a scout for St. Louis, I talked to AeonSandwich in the draft. I liked what he had to say in the Interested Prospect thread, and it was cool getting to talk to him a bit. When it came time to pull rookies for Team USA in the WJC, he was one of my first picks. Unfortunately, he seemed to pick up that Rookie 'Crow Curse of low points and performance. Hopefully his sophomore season will be better and will encourage him to be more active on the forums and in the locker room. At present, he's not very active in either, which is unfortunate because he’s a cool guy.HONORABLE MENTIONS
I doubt we’ll see these guys drafted, but they’re still St. Louis rookies and it’s important to mention them. Of the two, only one is inactive. In a draft with seven total incoming players, that's pretty amazing.Axel Meszaros – D – Two-Way
You can’t really go wrong having an SHL GM in the locker room. ml has been great to get to know a little bit this season, and he always has a bit of encouragement or advice for those seeking it. Honestly, Toronto must be a pretty cool place to be with him in charge. Add in that he very quickly took over as one of our main defenders along with Kasius and Gordon, and we're lucky to have been able to pick him. Hopefully he’ll realize two of his dreams this season: 1) to be drafted 69OA, and 2) to execute the perfect Tank.Missed Team Picture Day
Jason Voorhees – G – Butterfly
Despite the character namesake, Jason seemed like a good guy. I know he was having trouble getting his bearings with the forum format and Discord. We tried to help him, offered to answer any questions and gave a basic run-through of the idea of the game. Somewhere along the way, we lost him unfortunately.That said, he did pretty well in net for a rookie with 169 TPE to his name, including some stolen games while our main goaltender was playing her games in Buffalo. Maybe someday he'll be back, but until then, I wish him the best. [WC: 997 Words][Ready for Grading]

It's easy to stay active with such an awesome locker room! The leadership of you, Fish and Dangle, plus the experienced players in ML, Evok, Slash and Paq.
Shoutout to my fellow rooks for all staying mostly active (except Vorhees) and big props to Darzins who came in halfway through the season and jumped in head first. Can't wait for next season, we're gonna win it this time! S53 is OURS! SCARECROW NOISES Member of Team Prospects North America - S51 WJC, Team Captain
