Welcome, everyone, to this press conference. First of all, I want to thank you all for being present today at Mile One Center. It's a gorgeous day overlooking the bay in St. John's, which we hope should bode well for the upcoming season of your Newfoundland Berserkers in the SMJHL. We are thrilled to make a few announcements to our beloved fans concerning our team's leadership group, and we also have a slight change to our uniforms, which some of our captains will showcase for you in just a few minutes. Before we do go on with the captaincy announcement, I want to highlight how amazingly difficult this gorgeous group of youngsters has made this decision for us in the Head Office. We've had many backs-and-forths, and we believe we've made the best decision for this young team full of potential - and hopefully, Four Star Cup winners this season. We've settled for three alternate captains, and one captain. Without further delay, here they are! The first alternate captain of the team is the only non-forward that we have chosen for the season. However, he's been a sight to behold in the locker room. His high sense of analysis and meticulousness are only rivaled by his warmth and openness to his teammates. He stepped up in a huge way last season to round out our Top 3 on defense, being used everywhere at once - and keeping up the pace as a rookie, behind the two stalwarts that were Dayudie and Ren. We are truly happy to have him lead our young backline coming into this season, and know that his leadership will rub off on the group we've assembled. We cannot wait to see this young man blossom into a star defenseman in the near future. Congratulations to Jukka Timonen for his nomination as Alternate Captain! @"Smalinowski7" The second alternate captain of this team shows to us all that statistics aren't the be-all, end-all in professional sports. There's no hardest worker, no one that stays at the rink for longer than this young man. He was always there for his teammates, should they need a practice partner, or help in their personal life. The Japanese leadership from last year really helped him grow into the confident young man we now present to you today, and we feel like the sky is the limit for him as a hockey player, and as a human being. Congratulations to Ryuuji Minamino for his nomination as Alternate Captain! @Nhamlet Our third and final alternate captain should be a familiar face to everyone who followed the Berserkers' community outreach programs and promotional campaigns from the SMJHL last season. Labelled as "the next generation's leader", he's been that and so much more for this locker room. Charismatic, enthusiastic and forever passioned for his role as a mentor, he's been a soothing presence for our many rookies that are taking their first steps in the SMJHL. We absolutely cannot wait to see what kind of player he becomes in the near and far future, and we're convinced he'll live up to the expectations that can be put on such a high draft pick in both the SMJHL and SHL. Congratulations to Steve Harrington for his re-nomination as Alternate Captain! @"NeonLime" As Steve enters the press conference, he's wearing the new Berserkers' Away jersey, as showcased here. His hazelnut locks and charming smile make everyone swoon in the room - including the team's top brass. Now that we've announced all of our alternate captains, it's time to present this season's captain for the Berserkers. This player is now the longest standing member of our team, and the only one that once called himself a Lion. He's taken a huge step last season as a leadership figure for this team, under the guidance of all three of the captaincy team of last season. We know he'll be an important part of our team on the ice, but we also see more and more his caring and "big brother" side, especially with the rookies. This camp has been an eye-opener for many of us in the Head Office, and we can now say with pristine confidence that this young man will help the team and the province radiate even more than it has before. Please join me in warmly welcoming your new Newfoundland Berserkers' Captain... SLATT POTTS! @Rindiee Slatt enters the room with an endearing smile, flashing a few signs with his fingers as he walks in sporting the new Berserkers' Home jersey, with a C etched against its heart. If you have any questions for this press conference, please direct them to me. Thank you once again for your presence today. We are opening the microphones now.

I'm not normally a huge fan of black jerseys, but these look very good. Props to the designer!
