Jala Agency Reintroduction and New Client
#1

Once upon a yesteryear, the Jala Agency was well known across the sports universe. Representing players across; hockey, basketball, football and baseball, the Jala Agency covered it all and had varying levels of success including championships in the SBA, VHL and most notably the SHL. A few years ago the Jala Player Agency had started to taper down operations as their agents struggled to find work in other leagues and the final bastion in the SHL fell as their last client Sachimo Zoidberg, Jr. quietly slipped into the night and the JPA shuttered it's doors for, what many thought, good. While in the works for a while, the rumblings started within the last few weeks and as of today; the Jala Player Agency has re-opened it's doors. Albeit they will be solely operated in the SHL with one client, it's an exciting time for the agency after a hiatus for the last few years.

Alongside that, we are announcing the first new player being represented and it has a very deep tie to the JPA. The first client we ever represented went on to win three championships, multiple all-star appearances and it all culminated in being inducted in the Calgary Dragons Hall of Fame. That client was Sachimo Zoidberg, defense for the Montreal Impact and the Calgary Dragons. His son, Sachimo Zoidberg Jr, would also play briefly in the league before fading into quiet mediocrity; best known for his time with the Colorado Raptors. For the third time, the JPA will represent a Zoidberg; the son of Junior and grandson of the patriarch has announced his intentions to plunge into the depths of the SMJHL. Sachimo Zoidberg the Third has decided to enter the SMJHL draft and will join as soon as possible to end the season in hopes of gaining some experience before his draft day. The Jala Player Agency is ecstatic to represent the grandson of our shining achievement and one of our closest friends, and look forward to the bright future we hope to see for both him and ourselves.

We reached out to Sachimo Zoidberg in hopes of getting his thoughts on the news of both:

Quote:It's safe to say that having the Jala Player Agency represent me was the best move I ever made. I came into the SMJHL as some Dutch noone and they took me and my hard work and turned me into a champion. My life wouldn't have turned out like it has without them, I wouldn't have the chance to expand my life after hockey and to see both my son and now my grandson play the game we all love so much. It was difficult to watch them shut down and we would talk about what options they had, but in the end they had spread themselves too thin and the economy made it hard to keep operating. Watching my son quit hockey was even harder.

Even then I knew it was the right choice for him, but hockey gave both of us so much and when he let it slip away it broke my heart. In the end though, his heart was breaking being away from his first born son and wife, and us. I know the life on the road is challenging and some guys cope and some don't. I'm happy we didn't choose a life of drugs or philandering and in the end he was happier stepping away from the game and that's all that matters. We have one life and only we get to choose how to live it and what's important and he made the right choice. He got to watch his kid grow up and drive truck with me and his wife was so much happier to have him around. He's happy with the choice he made and has no regrets that he stopped playing.

As for 'the Kid', he's got a long way to go. He's had our support at all his games growing up, skating on my rink in the backyard, whatever equipment and coaching he's needed. But that's all we can do. We can't go out there and skate his shifts for him, make his shots or passes, or get in the way of those pucks. I've done my time as my career numbers will tell, hah. He has my love but he has to earn my stamp of approval so if anyone is waiting for me to just endorse him as the next great player, don't hold your breath or you'll pass out. If he puts in the time, effort and dedication to succeed then I will be the proudest grandpa in the world. That said you'd best believe I got every game possible on the old TV box and will be watching closely, all of us will be.

As for me, life is good. It was a hard transition moving from hockey to regular life. I think trucking was a good move for me as it gave me and the son some stable work and let my wife still have me go out of town for a couple days with these long hauls across the prairies I go on sometimes. She has the patience of a saint, but sometimes she tells me to go to Markham and let her get some peace. We still get out on the ice sometimes, get some pick-up games going and work the ol' legs out some. Even if it's non-contact you'd better believe I get the odd shot in from time to time.

It's good to see the old man still getting out there and to hear his thoughts on some big news from our little part of the world. With the business starting up again, we will be releasing a scouting report soon, but it's still in the works. As we work forward with getting Zoidberg III signed and settled there will be more news coming out. Thanks for joining us in this big news for our agency and our player and we look forward to seeing how the future will play out for us.
