With the start of a new era in Anaheim, it only makes sense that we bring in a new leadership group to help lead the team back to success on and off the ice. With the loss of a big part of our previous leadership group, we needed players who could step up and be the team's new leaders and that's exactly what we got from the players that we'll be announcing today. Before we continue, I'd like to recognize last season's outgoing leaders.

First we have our outgoing captain, Ethan Price (@Zomp), Zomp was our 2nd round pick in the S52 draft and has been a cornerstone of our franchise for the past 4 seasons, he was part of both the S52 Four Star Cup winners and the S54 finalists, was always among the team's top scorers on the ice, and was the face of our LR in a very successful period for the team. Unfortunately Price is no longer with us as his junior eligibility has run out and he'll be making his SHL debut for the Wolfpack this season. Off the ice however, Zomp is still very much a huge part of the organization having become the org's 5th ever co-GM this offseason.

Then we have, our former assistant captain, Emilia Bergman (@Renomitsu), Reno was our 2nd round pick in the S53 draft joining us at a time where our defense was in need of a refresh and his addition to the team was a big part in why we were able to do that so quickly, helping us reach the S54 final from the first pairing. Bergman spent two seasons as the Outlaws assistant captain but unfortunately his career path didn't match the team's direction and so Bergman was traded to Quebec City over the offseason where she'll get to finish her SMJHL career.

Now, for the S56 Anaheim Outlaws leadership group Outlungus

First up is our second assistant captain, Jorgustraad DuBolk (@MCP_), MCP was our 1st round pick in the S54 draft, he has developed into a fantastic player for Anaheim and will be leading us on the ice this season along with James LeBlond as our star defense duo. MCP is a well respected veteran member of the league who adds experience and character to our LR and we're really glad to have the chance to let him take on an even bigger role for us as one of our leaders.

Next we have our first assistant captain, Long John Donair (@GCool), GCool was our 2nd round pick in the S55 draft and has a long history with our organization, his last player Jerry Mander was a key part of the S47 Cup winners and S48 finalists and is one of the best players in Outlaws history, spending all 5 seasons of his eligibility with us. When GCool recreated knew that we had to bring him back home and he's picked up right from where he left off, being one of our most promising forwards on the ice as well as one of our most vocal leaders off the ice, always looking to spark conversation and keep the activity where it's meant to be. As the youngest member of our leadership group, he has the chance to be a leader for this team for a very long time.

Finally is our new captain for S56, Ryu Jones (@SFresh3), Ryu was one of the biggest steals in recent memory for Anaheim, as our 5th round, 47th overall pick in S54, he's gone on to become the team's most active member and our star player as well. He hit the ground running in his first season putting up a ROTY calibre season and handled the bump to the first line well in his second season, putting up great numbers for a second year player playing alongside Price and Hammarberg. Now it's his turn to lead the team on the ice as the captain and star forward as well as off the ice where he contributes everywhere he possibly can. He's one of the team's most active LR members and also an important part of the team's management group helping with scouting and tactics, among other things. We're beyond excited to have Ryu lead this team into the future.
